Introduction I GET TO SPEAK WITH MANY PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED

DIFFERENT KINDS OF AFFLICTION! I: Financial Problems 2: Relational Problems 3: Emotional Problems 4: Spiritual Problems And most of the time the affliction is beyond my ability to fix. But I

Believe that affliction has a Purpose, and in God’s time there will be a break through and reconciliation!

And afflicted people are often looking for answers to two questions.

• The FIRST is WHAT? What are the purpose of this affliction? • The SECOND is WHY? Why it happens to me? Why God

allowed this affliction?

ruins lives, capture our joy, feeble our

faith, and make us upset on thing, works

and towards our love ones!

escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon; and they were servants to him and to his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia, to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept sabbath until seventy years were complete.”

Consider Job. He was afflicted as much as anyman ever was. And yet it was not because of hissin.

Job 1:6-8 “Now there was a day when the sons ofGod came to present themselves before theLORD, and Satan also came among them. TheLORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?”Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Fromroaming about on the earth and walking aroundon it.” The LORD said to Satan, “Have youconsidered My servant Job? For there is no onelike him on the earth, a blameless and uprightman, fearing God and turning away from evil.”

John 15:2 “Every branch in Me that does

not bear fruit, He takes away; and every

branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so

that it may bear more fruit.”

God is not finish with us. He is molding

and shaping our life to be productive! It

requires addition and subtraction to us!

James 1:2-4 “Consider it all joy, my

brethren, when you encounter various

trials, knowing that the testing of your faith

produces endurance. And let endurance

have its perfect result, so that you may be

perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Hebrews 12:11 “All discipline for the

moment seems not to be joyful, but

sorrowful; yet to those who have been

What the psalmist wants to tell us aboutaffliction?

69 The proud have forged a lie against me,But I will keep Your preceptswith my whole heart. 70 Their heart is asfat as grease, But I delight in Your law.

Page 14: God allowed affliction with a purpose!!

1: IT MEANS THAT AFFLICTION IS ONE OF GOD’S WAY THAT YOU AND I WILL RELY ON HIM!

FAT- Heart Hearted, Self Centered, Self exalted!

Seeking to solve his problems with his own!

One pastor quotes “this text speaks of the church with high cholesterol” !

Do not make your self Fat, instead make GOD’S word more FAT than your wisdom!

Page 15: God allowed affliction with a purpose!!

70 Their heart is as fat as grease, But I

delight in Your law.

Page 16: God allowed affliction with a purpose!!

Problems (Affliction) are like washing

machines. They twist us, spin us and

knock us around… but in the end we come

out cleaner, brighter and better than

before!

Page 17: God allowed affliction with a purpose!!

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work

together for good to those who love God,

to those who are the called according

to His purpose.

Page 18: God allowed affliction with a purpose!!

67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, But

now I keep Your word.

Page 19: God allowed affliction with a purpose!!

And so we understand that not all affliction is aresult of bad behavior.

Rather, affliction is a necessary tool in the handsof God To move us from where we are to wherewe need to be, And to put the work He has donein us to display for others to see.

That means that while affliction is not a pleasantthing, It most certainly is not a bad thing.

And if we learn to look at our affliction throughproper perception We might even grow toappreciate affliction in our lives.
