3 Greeley County Republican Tribune, Kansas Wednesday, July 22, 2020 ��������������������������� �������������������� ��������������������������������������� ���������������� � ����� Country Fresh Market The first Country Fresh Market of the season was held Wednesday July 15 south of the Greeley County Library. Above is the FFA and Z Bakes table and below is the Luca and Jacelyn lemonade stand. On July 5 th , 2020 at 4:30 pm the Go-Getters 4-H club met at the 4-H Building. They started the meeting off with the pledge of Allegiance lead by Anna. Next on the addenda they did the 4-H pledge lead by Emily. Roll call was then announced by 4/4 members by stating what was their favorite color. Anna read the minutes from the last meeting. The last month meeting minutes were signed by Anna and James. Taven reports that the minutes were not placed in the paper. The education was done by James about stopping the discussion and moving onto the vote. Christina presented the leaders report which was about the 4-H newsletter that got mailed out. When reviewing the letter we discussed the project reports, record book, fair cleanup day, fair kitchen work, request for fair kitchen pies, and turning in the pre- registration forms. Old business discussed was about the fundraisers. Anna made a motion to have the bake sale on Saturday July 11 th , 2020 at 8:30 am in front of Dixon Drug. Emily seconds the motion. The vote carries with 4 members voting yes. The quilt raffle was discussed next. Taven makes a motion to have the quilt sale with the tickets selling for $1.00 per ticket. Anna seconds the motion and the vote carries with 4 members voting yes. The drawing for the raffle will be held at the fair BBQ. New business discussed at this time was on the Club Shirts. Anna makes a motion to order shirts through Ashley’s Graphic Design here in Tribune. Taven seconds the motion. The vote carries with 4 members voting yes. Go-Getter’s 4-H Club meets The next new business discussed was the fair booth. The club has decided on what decorations needed for the fair booth. They will meet on Sunday July 26 th , 2020 at 2 pm. The next new business discusses was the club float. The club has decided on the float decorations and will meet to decorate Saturday August 1 st , 2020 prior to the parade. Next meeting for the Go- Getters 4-H club is scheduled for August 8 th , 2020. Anna moved to adjourn meeting and Emily seconded the adjournment. After the flag salute the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given and approved. The Department (State) meeting was held by Zoom on June 20. Karol Goodin, our District 6 President will be the 2020-2021 Department Jr. Vice President. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23 for Troy Ozment at 10:30 A.M. at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune with Inurnment at the Greeley County Cemetery. The National Meeting will be held on Friday, July 24 by Zoom. A small booth will be displayed at the Fair - Heroes Come in All Shapes and Sizes. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 2 at the CYAT Center in Tribune from 1-4 MT to celebrate the life of Nancy Mangold Brindle. After discussion it was agreed that we CANCEL the Ice Cream Social after the Fair Parade due to the COVID- 19 concerns. We closed with National Home Prayer. The next meeting will be Monday, August 10 at the Post Home. VFW Auxiliary #7521 News ® ® The Kansas High School Clay Target League announced placing and awards for the spring season. The Jackrabbit combined junior/senior high team came in second in their conference behind Pleasanton High School. Other schools in the conference were Valley Falls High, Meade High, Anderson Jr/Sr High and Bluestem High. There were 90 individuals in the conference and 471 in the state this year. In our conference Michael Lehman was 5 th overall, Bryson Bjorklund 7 th , Cade Mangan 10 th . Josey Schmidt came in 3 rd in the women’s division. It was a short but exciting season and many of our team members gained valuable experience and improved on their average from the fall season.
