What started as the first small pharmacy in Tulkarem, Palestine in 1933 has successfully developed into a multinational pharmaceutical company with a diverse range of dependable and high quality pharmaceuticals. Located in the outskirts of Bethlehem, Beit Jala Pharmaceuticals (BJP)'s GMP and ISO certified manufacturing plant produces and exports medicines throughout the region, and is networking with its sister companies in the Munir Sukhtian Group to reach other international markets as well.

BJP's dynamic R&D, accumulated knowledge in the industry, and professional and dedicated team have ensured continued success and growth over the past 74 years in a challenging market, and provide a strong launching pad into the future. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT A strong pipeline that enables applying for a merketing authorization of a significant number of products that provides regular sales growth in the domestic and global markets.

QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENTThe QC department performs all physical, chemical testing of the active pharmaceutical ingredients, in-process materials and finished products. In addition to shelf life testing and monitoring.

MICROBIOLOGY LABThe microbiology lab is responsible for microbial testing of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished products including preservative efficacy testing through out the whole stability study. Daily water monitoring is performed to ensure compliance with pharmacopoeial limits.

Environmental monitoring of the production area falls within the scope and responsibility of the microbiology laboratory, in addition to the constant monitoring of the level of contamination of the operators gowns, hands, as well as working surfaces in the production and other relevant areas.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENTThe plant is a multi production facility designed for the manufacturing of solid dosage forms, semi solids, liquids and sterile liquid dosage forms in the form of eye drops. The design enables storage, weighing, production and packaging of a certain dosage form separately in a downstream flow, eliminating the possibility of mix-ups and cross contamination.

WAREHOUSESThe released active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, packaging materials and finished products are stored each separately according to Good Storage Practices (GSP). The storage areas are contineously monitored for temperature and humidity.

QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT The QA department is responsible for:Placing BJP quality system and auditing it frequently.Ensuring the manufacturing of pure, safe and effective drug pharmaceutical products in compliance with cGMP regulations.Releasing/rejecting active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, packaging materials and finished products.

DOCUMENTATIONDocuments pertaining to products quality are prepared and reviewed with relation to the objectives and practices of the relevant department in accordance with cGMP regulations and are made available to the designated user and controlled by the QA department.

PERSONNEL TRAININGBJP employees different academic backgrounds, mecessitates receiving regular training that is relevant to their scope of work, to enable them run their designated operations, with maximum efficiency and productivity.

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTThe Engineering department works on ensuring the design specifications of the main systems: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Purified Water / Water for Injection (PW/WFI) and Compressed Air systems and their compliance with cGMP regulations.The department performs corrective and preventive maintenance of all equipment, buildings, facilities and associated utilities used in the manufacturing, processing, packaging, holding and testing of drug products. It ensures an adequate supply of machinery spare parts.The department works side by side with R & D, QC and production departments on product development and on performing corrective and preventive maintenance activities.

FINANCIAL DEPARTMENTThe financial department works on providing adequate financial resources for the various operations.In addition, the department directs purchases towards certified approved suppliers and prepares quarterly financial reports to enable regular follow-up of the various operations.

HUMAN RESOURCESBeit Jala Pharmaceutical Company success is based on a policy of recruiting high standard employees in various industry related backgrounds. 85% of the employees are holders of academic degrees.

MARKETING DEPARTMENTMarketing, with its two branches: Domestic Department and Export, provide a broad portfolio of both ethical and OTC products.

Beit Jala Pharmaceutical Company is a major player in the local market.BJP established a remarkable marketing and distribution network to serve the local market professionally & successfully. The broad range of our products with the strong marketing network helped BJP to achieve leading positions among major local players. The marketing department works on fulfilling sales plans projecting and realizing a regular yearly growth of 10 - 13% in sales as a result of a constant growth in BJP Company’s range of products and from the continuous introduction of new products and markets. This department performs customer satisfaction evaluations on a regular basis to enable constant feed back to top management.
