Thank You for

The Inventor, Bill Bramlett

and also the assistance of Bob Musgrove

for their help with this project.

Premise: Fuel pumps are good for pumpingbut poor in sucking. Pressure ahead of apump will hold down vapor lock. Suctionbehind a pump creates a low pressure areasubject to vapor lock.

When an external pump sucks air it is some-times difficult to get it primed from the othertank.

By putting pumps into the tanks you eliminatethe lower pressure in the intake hose, eliminatethe selector valve, cool the pumps, and haveinstant priming -- all of which helps eliminatevapor lock.

We will not change the fuel fill system.

However check the rubber connectorsat the tank and replace them if necessary.

Available from Jim Kanomata and others.

We will replace the rubber lineswith steel lines.

We eliminate the fuel selector valve. The fuel pumps have check valves sotheir outlets can be connected togetherand to the fuel line going to the engine.I tested them to 70 psi and they heldfine.

A new steel line goes from the pumpconnector to a fuel filter and thento the engine.

We will replace the rubber hoseson the top of the tank with steellines connected with short hoses tothe steel tube at the frame rail.

The rubber stub hoses can easily bereached alongside the tanks toreplace if ever necessary withoutdropping the tanks.

The only change made here isto replace the rubber hoses on the top of the tanks with steel lineswhich connect to the existing hoseswhich are shortened and now connect at the sides of the tanks.

Again making it easy to replace the hoseswithout dropping the tanks.

You will need a bracket for the bottomof the pump. You can easily make yourown or find one at a junkyard from a GMpickup truck but you would have to pullthe fuel tank.

Use 1/16” thick steel plate.

Different pumps have different size bottoms.Know what you have before you make it.Circle inside tabs is sized by diameter of rubber.

Tabs are just bent up to hold pump. Large tab Is bent upand bolted to new vent pipe to hold bottom of pump.

IMPORTANT!

BE SURE to test your fuel senderbefore using the sending unit toaccommodate you new pump.It should read approx. 90 ohms atfull and 0 ohms at empty.Mine were both 110 ohms and 10 ohms.

A piece of steel 5/16” line will be cutand threaded on one end to screwinto threads tapped into vent opening.

This will support the fuel sending unitand the bottom of the fuel pump.Cut it just long enough to reach the tabon the pump bottom bracket that youwill bolt to it. 5” plus threads will do.

Important: drill 1/8” hole all the waythrough the tube just under thethreads at top to vent fuel tank.
