Welcome! From the team behind the Gloucester Quays Victorian Market and Gloucester Quays Food Festival. Landmark events attracting record breaking visitor numbers to the Quays - in excess of 80,000 in the case of the Victorian Market. We don’t like to blow our own trumpet, but we think we know a thing or two about organising successful events at this venue and our latest event will be no exception. This April, the allotment chic Gloucester Quays will be in full bloom - with our GARDEN PARTY, which includes live demos in “The Potting Shed” with famous faces including award-winning Diarmuid Gavin, David Domoney, Alan Titchmarsh’s resident TV gardener & Carol Klein, plus vintage festival fashion shows and live music. The Garden Party is FREE to the public and will take place over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, from Saturday 7th to Monday 9th April, in the spectacular dockside setting of Gloucester Quays and the adjacent Gloucester Quays Outlet Shopping Centre. Similar themed events and experiences are hugely popular around the UK and this distinctive location lends itself perfectly to such an event. This will be a quality experience that captures the imagination and appeals to all ages. Advertising exposure will be supported with a campaign to target local and regional visitors along with tourists. Attendance and footfall is expected to be extremely high and competition for stalls will be intense, so don’t miss out; book your place at the Garden Party everyone’s going to be talking about!

GardenParty

Our PerformersDavid Domoney (Saturday 10.30am, 1.30pm, 4.30pm)

David Domoney would describe himself as The People’s Gardener. A unique garden

expert – David’s passion for gardening is such that he feeds his plants with vodka,

bananas, eggs, beer, aspirin and even ‘Viagra’ to keep them really happy… he does

not believe you need to be an expert to have a great garden, just imagination and

a few tricks of the trade. His charismatic and engaging personality instantly disables

people’s pre-conceptions that TV garden experts are just about Latin names and

over-complicated procedures. David’s eccentric ‘Lovejoy’ approach shows that gardening

should be about getting stuck in.

Diarmuid Gavin (Sunday 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm)Diarmuid Gavin is one of the mavericks of the world of garden design. His innovative

work helped to make “Home Front in the Garden” one of television’s most watched

gardening programmes. His work has earned him several awards including the RDS Gold

Award and a Bronze Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show, and he’s currently gardening

columnist for the Daily Mirror.

Carol Klein (Monday 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm)Carol Klein is one of the most familiar gardening experts working in the media today, most

famous for her role as regular presenter of Gardener’s World. Her natural, down-to-earth approach

has made her popular and trusted figure. As well as covering all the wonderful shows from

Chelsea and Tatton to Hampton Court, Carol has fronted many series including Grow Your Own

Veg and Open Gardens.

Her extensive writing work includes not only her books – Grow Your Own Veg was a

six-month top 20 bestseller, with over 200,000 copies sold – but also her weekly double

page spread for Garden News and contributions to the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, Gardener ’s World

magazine, Gardens Illustrated, English Garden and Horticulture.

Hans Haverkamp (12.30pm each day)After Hans Haverkamp achieved the elite status of ‘Master Florist ’ in Holland, he then

spent a three years teaching European floral design in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

He competed for the first time at the Chelsea Flower Show and was delighted at winning

not just the Gold medal but also ‘Best in Show’. His innovative work also gained him a

‘First’ as well as 2 show prizes at the World Flower Arranging Show in Glasgow. Hans’s

extensive list of clients includes Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber, who he has worked with for

the last six years. But more recently, Hans has been ‘teaching his

tricks’ in Flower Workshops, which he runs in Twyning, near Tewkesbury. He enjoys sharing

his innovative ideas and converting flower virgins to flower lovers; join him as he creates

a ‘DIY’ design that anyone can try, a romantic/country piece, and a third, spectacular,

contemporary and funky design!
