Globalization is the worldwide movement

toward economic, financial, trade and

communication integration.

It aims at launching boarder-less market.

For the past few decades the rate of globalization

has been striking.

For example,

the total value of US imports and exports almost

tripled, from 1991 to 2000.

In the early 1990s, globalization was started.

Globalization has played a part both in the

biggest successes-and in some of the failures.

China's economic growth, which was based on

exports, has lifted several hundred million

people out of poverty. But China managed

globalization carefully: it was slow to open

up its markets for imports, even today does

not allow the entry of hot speculative money.

India's is no less success in lifting million of

people from poverty praiseworthy.

On the other hand, historically Africa is the

region most exploited by globalization:

during the years of colonialism the world

took its resources but gave back little in

return.

The foreign buyers are buying the direct output from Bangladesh whereas due to the industrial production process the environment is being polluted including the air, water and sound pollution.

The smokes that is mixed with the air contains a lot of toxic elements.

For example: Carbon Monoxide, Sulphur Dioxide and other harmful chemical elements. Breathing in polluted air causes different lung diseases and the toxic gases destroys the ozone layer causing the Green House effect. Acid rain causes different problem. The Ultra Violet rays from sun enters through the atmospheres and it harms us in different ways.

Water Pollution:

Another reason is water pollution. Our country

lacks the proper management of dumping the

industrial wastages in eco-friendly way.

The fishes and other foods coming from the polluted water are severely harmful to our health.

Sound Pollution:

Sound pollution is a problem for industrial production process.

It makes our life dull with few problems like Hypertension, High blood pressure, Headache and other symptoms.

Ship Breaking Activities:

This activity began in 1969 and since then it has earned a good reputation for being profitable but at a great environmental cost.

Tannery Work:

Different elements of environment such as soil, water, air etc. are polluted by tannery wastes. This pollution acts as a threat for the workers as well as for the general people who are living in this area.

Food Adulteration:

The fruits we import is preserver by applying different types of preservative like Formalin.

These are very harmful to our health.

Hilsha Fish:

Hilsha is our national fish. Due to the massive export we can’t take this tasty fish.

When we are producing and exporting a dirty product then the pollution stays with us but the product goes to another country;

So, we are exporting the product and importing the pollution;

Here the net gain from export needs to be adjusted for this loss of environmental quality due to pollution to reduce the negative externality.

Protecting the environment to get the best

out of Globalization:

A failure of environmental stability poses even

a greater danger for the world in the long

run. A decade ago, concern about the

environment and globalization was limited

only to environmental advocacy groups and

experts. Today, it is almost universal.

There are both positive and negative criticism

on Globalization. If we can handle it properly

our country’s economic condition will be

changed.

Otherwise it will simply hamper our rapid

economic growth.
