Global tourism has increased, transporting people to far flung locations.

Global village where people share common interests and are connected via internet

Uses cheaper labour in developing countries to supply consumers in MEDC’s.

A worldwide reduction in consumer prices ‘race to the bottom price’ as China pushes prices down

An expansion of international organisations eg trade blocs

Global trade barriers being removed by World Trade Organisation (tariffs, quotas) boost exports but expose poor countries to cheap imports

Migrant labour is flowing to areas of high wages and better quality of life

Cheap mobile and internet means communication flowing more widely

Rise of NICs, particularly China and India, very important for global economy and power in future
