Dr.TahirMasoodAhmadisDeanandProfessorofPaediatrics,TheChildren’sHospital&theInstituteofChildHealth,Lahore,whichisthelargestexclusivePaediatricfacilityinPakistan.TheChildren’sHospitalisalsoamajorpostgraduatetrainingcentreinPaediatricsandPaediatricsubspecialties.Prof.TahirwaseducatedattheUniversityofthePunjab(MBBS).HedidhisMCPSinPaediatricsandfellowshipinPaediatrics(FCPS)fromCollegeofPhysiciansandSurgeonsPakistan.HisspecialinterestisinPaediatricNephrologyforwhichhewastrainedinRoyalFreeHospitalandHospitalforsickChildrenGreatOrmondStreet,LondonUK,andMedicalCollegeofVirginiaRichmond,USA.Hestartedhisteachingcareerin1985andhasservedasprofessorofPaediatricsinpublicsectorteachinginstitutionsofLahore,inclusiveofKingEdwardMedicalUniversity.HehasbeenassociatedwithTheChildren’sHospitalsince2003,firstasProjectDirectorwhenhecontributedinthedevelopmentandcompletionofthisprojectandnowasDeanandadministrativeheadofthishospital.Hehasbeeninvolvedintheteachingandtrainingatbothundergraduateandpostgraduatelevel.HehasbeenexaminerinPaediatricsfor25yearsandhasbeenactivelyinvolvedindevelopmentofcurriculainPaediatricsinaccordancewiththenewdevelopmentsandneedsofthecommunity.Hehasbeenthememberofvariousnationalandinternationalassociations.HeischairpersonofexpertreviewcommitteeforpolioeradicationinitiativeofPunjab.HeistemporaryregionaltechnicaladvisorWHOonimmunizationandisalsomemberofNationalImmunizationTechnicalAdvisoryGroup(NITAG).Prof.TahirMasoodAhmadhaseditedabook“ClinicalPaediatrics”andcontributedchaptersintextbooksofPaediatrics.PresentlyheiseditingTextbookofPaediatricsbyPakistanPaediatricAssociation.Hehasover40publicationstohiscreditinindexedmedicaljournals.HewasawardedwiththePresidentofPakistanGoldMedalforcontributionstoChildHealthinPakistan(2010).

Dr.HarishAministhecurrentChairoftheSpecialtyCommitteeinPediatricsattheRoyalCollegeofPhysiciansandSurgeonsofCanada(RCPSC).HeisalsotheAssistantDeanforPostGraduateMedicalEducationoftheFacultyofMedicineattheUniversityofCalgary.HeservesasaMemberofRCPSCExamBoardinPediatricsandtheVice-ChairoftheRCPSCExamBoardinNeonatalPerinatalMedicine.HealsoservesasanAccreditationSurveyorfortheCollege.FunctionoftheRoyalCollegeandSpecialtyCommitteesInCanada,theRoyalCollegeofPhysiciansandSurgeons(RCPSC)isthestandardsettingbodyforpostgraduatemedicaleducationandaccreditationoftrainingprograms.SpecialtyCommitteesestablishedbytheRCPSCservetoadvisetheCollegeinmattersrelatedtothespecialtyandareinvolvedinsettingstandardsandaccreditationoftrainingprograms.Thisprocessseekstoensurethatstandardsforresidencyeducationarebeingmaintainedinallresidencytrainingprograms,andthatallnecessaryresourcesareavailableandutilizedefficientlyandeffectivelytoenableresidentstomeetthetrainingrequirementsofthespecialty.TheSpecialtyCommitteeinPediatricsadvisestheCredentialsCommitteeonmattersrelatingtothetrainingstandardsnecessarytoadequatelytrainapediatrician.Thisisaccomplishedthroughdevelopmentofthefollowingdocuments:ObjectivesofTraining(OTR)inPediatricsandSpecialtyTrainingRequirements(STR)inPediatrics.TheOTRandSTRinPediatricswererevisedin2008.TheintentoftherevisedOTRandSTRistoassistindividualresidencytrainingprogramstoorganizetheircurriculumsothatitoptimallymeetstheneedsofresidents,pediatriciansandhealthneedsofchildrenandyouth.

Dr.NadiaBadrawi is anexpert inQualityAssuranceandAccreditation inHigherEducation inEgypt.She isakeymemberof the foundergroupand thepresidentof theArabnetwork forquality assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE). She is currently a Board Member of theNationalAuthorityforQualityAssuranceandAccreditationinEducationinEgypt(NAQAAE),anelectedBoardMemberoftheInternationalNetworkforQualityAssuranceAgencies inHigherEducation(INQAAHE),aBoardMemberofQualityAssuranceCommissionoftheAssociationofArab Universities, a Board Member of the advisory Committee Quality Assurance supportprogramforAfricanHigherEducation,aconsultant for theBritishCouncil inEgypt forqualityAssuranceinHE,andashort-termconsultantfortheworldbankforQualityAssuranceintheArabregion.Shealsoplayedamainroleinestablishingalawtoregulatequalityassuranceandaccreditationforeducation inEgypt.She iscurrentlytheheadoftheeducationcommitteeoftheEgyptianAssociationofPediatrics.Dr. Badrawi was the chairperson of the National Quality Assurance and AccreditationCommitteeinEgyptfrom2004to2006.Shehadalsobeenthedirectorofaqualityassuranceandaccreditationproject,aWorldBankproject forhighereducationatthesameperiod.ShewasthechairpersonofthepediatricsdepartmentofthefacultyofMedicine,CairoUniversity;she has been the director of the Medical Education and Development Center for CairoUniversity’s school of medicine where she contributed effectively in the development ofmedicaleducationinEgyptduringthattime.Dr.BadwarihasbeenaprofessorofneonatologyinCairoUniversity’sschoolofmedicinesince1985,andwastheheadoftheneonataldivisioninthepediatricsdepartmentinthesameschool.Shehasmorethan75nationalandinternationalscientificpublications,andwasthesupervisorofmanydoctoratecandidateMDtheses.Sheisalsothemainauthorofthreepediatricsbooksand three quality assurance and accreditation books. Dr. Badwari graduated from CairoUniversity school of Medicine in 1969 with honors and won a scholarship for neonatologytraininginFrance,andreceivedadoctoratedegreeinpediatricsin1974.

Dr. Nichols assumed the role as President and CEO in late 2012, but has been associated with the American Board of Pediatrics for 30 years -- as a diplomate, an item writer, subboard chair, committee chair, and a member of the board of directors. Prior assuming the presidency at the ABP, he was the Mary Wallace Stanton Vice Dean for Education and Professor of Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, and Critical Care at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Nichols is a graduate of Yale University (BA ’73) and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MD ’77). He has authored more than 100 journal articles, chapters and books, including Rogers’ Textbook of Pediatric Intensive Care and Critical Heart Disease in Infants and Children – two leading textbooks in the field. He is the recipient of the Society for Critical Care Medicine’s Shubin-Weil Master Clinician/Teacher: Excellence In Bedside Teaching Award as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Critical Care Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Nichols is board certified in three disciplines: pediatrics, pediatric critical medicine, and in anesthesiology. He is meeting the requirements for continuous certification and maintenance of certification.
