Today, RR Donnelley operates in 14 different time zones, on

five continents, in 36 countries and is dedicated to operating

responsibly throughout the world. This Global Corporate Social

Responsibility Report reflects our accomplishments in a variety

of important areas, including Sustainability, Environment,

Health, Safety, Diversity and Inclusion, Education and Training,

and Community.

The individual actions of our employees make a difference by

considering the environment, by helping their fellow employees,

and by being good citizens in their communities. We all

contribute whenever we turn off unused lights, follow safety

precautions, volunteer in our communities or solve customer

problems while limiting negative effects on people and the

environment.

We take these actions not because they are in our job

descriptions, but simply because we care, we want to create

positive results in the world and we are given choices and

opportunities to make a difference. When we look at all of our

efforts combined, it reveals how much we value this ongoing

commitment to operational and social responsibility.

As you read the perspectives and stories told by RR Donnelley

We invite you to read this year’s Global Social Responsibility Report and learn more about the ways that we’re inspiring new ideas, creating progressive sustainable practices, supporting our communities, and engaging our employees all across the world.

You will see that corporate social responsibility is an integral part of our business strategy and being a responsible global corporate citizen is a commitment made in all areas and at all levels of the company. And, we’re not just thinking about today -- we’re creating paths for the future and making choices for the long-term so that our valuable natural resources will not simply endure, but flourish.

In addition to using resources efficiently, we help our customers to do the same. For example, we supply our customers with products sourced from raw materials that have been harvested and prepared in accord with best sustainability practices. In fact, we have facilities on four continents that have been triple-certified to the Forest Stewardship Council, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, and Sustainable Forestry Initiative programs.

A key factor in our success and our ability to make an impact is our employees’ passion for supporting their communities and their enthusiasm for celebrating cultural differences. Their commitment to working collaboratively and creating a workplace culture where differences are valued, respected, and appreciated is reflected in the activities of employee-led Inclusion Councils around the world. In the pages that follow, you will learn about countless examples of our employees’ commitment to the environment, their communities, and to one another.

Always a company to embrace change, RR Donnelley experienced a number of organizational changes in the past couple of years and, as we know, change can bring challenges. By way of acquisition, we welcomed several companies into the RR Donnelley organization. With them came talented employees, new business processes and procedures, and additional facilities to add to our global footprint. As you might expect, in true RR Donnelley fashion, we confronted the challenges brought on by these positive changes head on.

Over the course of integrating these new companies we shared policies, procedures and, most importantly – best practices – that supported our goals for environmental sustainability, compliance, injury prevention, quality, employee engagement, and more. Despite a few differences in approach, it quickly became clear that we shared the same values of corporate social responsibility.

The differences between the organizations were easily unified but the real measure of cohesiveness and single-mindedness that put us on the path to achieving our environmental health and safety goals came from our employees. Our integration efforts confirmed what we already knew: what makes a positive difference at RR Donnelley are our people. That is where it starts.

Our employees display a special level of commitment that leads them to report to RR Donnelley facilities different than their own in order to support their co-workers during unexpected staffing shortages. Our employees are committed to serving their communities by volunteering during both working and non-working hours. This depth of character is not taught in any employee-training course. These foundational values are at the core of who we are.

RR Donnelley employees operate with a “can do” attitude and a sense of commitment to our company that is infectious and it drives our culture. It is a culture that builds trust, accountability, and ownership at all levels of the organization. It is an environment where people can be the best that they can be. The stories shared on these pages remind us that diversity and inclusion are a reality at RR Donnelley. We create environments in which people feel welcomed, respected and valued. Through more than 34 RR Donnelley Inclusion Councils around the world, employees foster workplaces where contributing different ideas is embraced. Employees share experiences and participate in activities focusing on diversity, inclusion, learning and professional development.

Our employees learn how to be accountable for inclusion through a curriculum that promotes awareness, influences positive behavioral changes and encourages leadership by example. We celebrate diversity by encouraging different experiences, cultures and points of view in our workplaces.

In addition to our Inclusion Councils and training on the value of diversity and inclusion, we have specialized areas of focus such as our Women’s Business Resource Group (WBRG) and The Employee Resource Group for Professionals of Color (POC ERG). Both of these groups provide professional development workshops, opportunities to increase business knowledge and networking activities such as personal branding strategies, leadership training and networking events. Participants also hear from senior leaders through an executive roundtable speaker series.

Our company leadership recognizes and embraces the belief that individuals who are valued for who they are and what they bring to work will strive to bring their best each day. ■ New York, New York (55 Water St.) – Provided backpacks and school supplies for Volunteers of America-Greater New York an organization that distributes new backpacks filled with grade-specific school supplies to homeless children throughout New York City. A filled backpack relieves parents of a financial burden and provides a sense of normalcy to the otherwise chaotic lives of these children, helping them to look and feel more like their classmates.

■ In Krakow, Starachowice, Warszawa (Poland) facilities RR Donnelley employees organized “Open Day” for employee family members and conducted tours of our printing sites in Krakow and in Starachowice, also offering educational activities for the children.

■ In November, our Global Document Solutions (GDS) team celebrated Diwali, the Hindu annual festival of light. As part of the celebrations, employees from the Leicester, UK office were invited to wear traditional dress; two employees from our London office brought in a home cooked feast to share with their team.

■ During 2015, our Global Document Solutions team provided I CAN (a UK Charity) with more than £60,000 (US $91,545) worth of support, bringing the total so far since 2014 to more than £90,000 (US $137,318).

■ Global Document Solutions employees are actively involved in fundraising. One group raised more than £26,000 (US $39,670) by taking part in ‘The 3 Peaks Challenge’, which involved climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours.

■ Our employees in Dublin, Ireland volunteer for LauraLynn, the only children’s hospice in Ireland. It provides support for children with life-limiting conditions and residential care for young adults with disabilities.

■ In Krakow, Poland our employees supported a number of organizations including a nearby orphanage: Brzechwa Orphanage (Dom Dziecka im. Jana Brzechwy). During 2015, they bought essentials including kitchen equipment, and invited children from the orphanage to the theatre to watch a performance and meet Santa Claus. They also organized a Christmas Fair where employees sold their hand-made products. The proceeds provided funding for nearly 470 school meals.

■ Our employees in Starachowice, Poland have raised money for a local child who is ill; the local football team; and provided reflective vests for schoolchildren. They also provided lesson’s plans and 2016 calendars for every schoolchild in Starachowice.

■ Since 2007, our employees from Krakow, Starachowice and Warsaw (Poland) have participated in the Noble Box (Szlachetna Paczka) charity action of Stowarzyszenie WIOSNA (Spring Association), supporting poor families before the holiday season. In 2015, employees supplied five families with food, cleaning agents and personal care products, toys, clothes, etc.

■ Warrenville, Illinois – The Diversity & Inclusion Council hosted an event called Glimpse of Asia where employees highlighted their rich traditions of China, India, Japan, Nepal, Singapore, Pakistan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.

■ Lancaster, Pennsylvania – The Diversity & Inclusion Council hosted a speed-interviewing event for employees. The objective of this event was to provide a diverse group of employee’s educational tips, tools and suggestions on how to successfully interview for open positions.

■ In 2015, we launched a pilot mentoring project pilot open to all RR Donnelley Global Document Solutions UK employees. All mentors received training and to date nine mentees were matched to seven mentors. The team has received additional interest and look to build in the program’s success further in 2016.

■ Logan, Utah – The Children’s Justice Center is a home-like facility that serves children and families who are experiencing the crisis and chaos resulting from the physical or sexual abuse of a child. The Logan, Utah Diversity & Inclusion Council outreach effort consisted of inviting the Center’s executive director to participate in the facility’s local Town Hall meeting and then gathering donations on their wish list that would serve those that participate in Children’s Justice Center services.

■ RR Donnelley’s Crawfordsville, Indiana partnered with a local organization that connects educators with employers. Crawfordsville hosts students, meetings and tours. They also participated in job fairs and provided volunteers for youth summit.

■ Long Prairie, Minnesota – The Inclusion Council sent Care Packages -“Operation Charlie” to a Medi-Vac unit of twelve soldiers from St. Cloud, Minnesota stationed in Kuwait and Iraq from April to December 2015. The council sent three packages per soldier. The Inclusion Council provided information and instructions for the packages and paid for postage.

■ Bolingbrook, Illinois Inclusion Council – Facilitated an employee led event that offered employees the opportunity to travel to the site of the Coal City tornado disaster to help with clean up and also donated needed items to the victims.

■ Baraboo, Wisconsin – Volunteer employees participated in a World Earth Day clean-up activity.

■ Harrisonburg, Virginia – Project Read is an activity that was first initiated by the facility as an Inclusion Council project in 2010. Led a local rotary group, it is dedicated to inspiring children with the love of reading to enrich their lives and increase opportunities for success in the future. Volunteers from the facility participate in 30-minute reading sessions at six schools in the area with a high population of minority children and low literacy rates. Volunteers read aloud to small groups of children before their school day begins.

■ Normal, Illinois – Employees participated in s fundraiser for a local organization that specializes in care of children and youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities or are considered at risk.

■ Lewisville, Texas – the Diversity & Inclusion Council participated in a tornado relief drive for one its employees impacted by the tornado two days after Christmas. Employees raised nearly $1,600 in addition to collecting a full pallet of clothing.

■ Lancaster, Pennsylvania – Inclusion Council members provided a lunch for graduates of a local program dedicated to helping women in transition develop confidence and skills to further their careers and education.

■ Spartanburg, Virginia Inclusion Council has sponsored the Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Awards Banquet for many years. The MED Awards Banquet celebrates the accomplishments of minority and women-owned business in the Spartanburg community.

■ Emotional Quotient (EQ) at Work Program, Manila, Philippines: Encouraged women participants to apply appropriate EQ to stressful situations at work and articulate that success in work is not dependent on how intelligent you are, but realizing the importance of considering the feelings of others you work with as well.

■ RR Donnelley Global Outsourcing’s award-winning gender diversity initiative Women’s Own Network (WoN) has made giant strides in forwarding a cause that is close to their hearts – empowering women employees with the ‘will to lead’. WoN believes that the job is not finished until they see an environment where women amongst us rise to the occasion and define achievement on their own terms. WoN takes all measures to provide its women employees with equal opportunities to thrive and help equip them with the tools and training for success. Success is achieved when opportunities provide focus on learning and leadership, which has been WoN’s focus for 2015. WoN has evolved today as an

empowering platform, impacting 2,686 women employees across the Asia Pacific region.

The values that drive WoNs success include the desire to dream; the will to pursue; and the drive to achieve all of which are preceded by the thirst to learn.

RR Donnelley Chennai India’s initiative Women for Learning and Leadership believe that women belong in the boardroom and corner offices and thereby recognize the need to provide avenues for women to constantly learn and evolve as leaders.

Multiple programs held across the RR Donnelley Global Outsourcing platform included:

■ Be the Change Workshop, Chennai, India: Addressed the need to celebrate diversity, proactive obsolescence planning, ways to achieve change, overcoming challenges and the need to generate original ideas.

■ Project Udaya – Chennai, India Initiated in 2010, this award-winning inclusion program in

India is designed to provide equal employment opportunities for the orthopedically challenged. Candidates are identified through Non-Government Organizations (NGO). Participants undergo four months of training in English and computer skills and performance it tracked through a feedback process. Udaya participants are encouraged to go beyond excelling at work and showing their talent in other areas of interest, like sports. Over the past two years, they have seen increased participation for wheelchair basketball and table tennis for the differently abled, with some of our employees representing the state in tournaments.

■ Succelerator, Trivandrum, India: A practical guidance program that focused on the success factors required to be a world class professional.

■ Positive Winning Culture, Chennai, India: As diversity resonates across our platform, one business division developed specific programs on language skills, accent sensitization, articulation and vocabulary for women to operate effectively in an international business environment.

■ Leveraging Thought Leadership: Woman of Substance Series, Chennai, India is a leadership forum wherein successful women professionals from different backgrounds participate in a forum with important leaders. These thought leaders inspire managers with insights and inputs. The list included luminaries such as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, India, District Judge and Diversity and Community Relations champion from the United Kingdom, and our own RR Donnelley women leaders

■ Get to Know Your Leader Forum, Colombo, Sri Lanka: WoN in Colombo invited leaders within the organization to share with women employees their experiences through the “Get To Know Your Leaders’’ forum.

■ Sensitization in the workplace: Moms @ Work – We Care Hampers: The RR Donnelley team in Chennai, India formulated the Moms @ Work initiative to support expectant mothers and new moms. They distributed hampers consisting of a support cushion and footrest to 20 expectant women across the location for needed support for their back and to improve blood circulation in their legs.

■ Woman and Safety: A Self Defense Workshop called EVADE (Extreme Violence and Aggression – Defense & Escape), organized for women in Chennai, India. The topics of crime, escape and tackle methods were covered.

■ Parenting 101, Manila, Philippines: A session on “Healthy Eating Habits for Kids” facilitated to educate parents on how to teach children good eating habits. Both new and experienced parents benefited from the session

■ Spreading Cancer Awareness, Chennai, India: In an effort to contribute to the cause, women volunteered to donate their hair in order to create wigs for cancer patients at the Cancer Institute in Chennai.

■ RR Donnelley is dedicated to offering our employees the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge. In 2015, employees completed more than 49,000 skills and knowledge ourses. All training and learning development solutions are available 24/7 to all RR Donnelley employees online via the Learning Connection.

■ Sales: We offer courses to equip our sales professionals with the skills and knowledge required to bring value to our customers and build long-term relationships. We offer product and service courses that introduce our suite of solutions as well as sales courses that focus on the development of selling skills and sales methodology. We also offer general business courses to round out a sales professional’s knowledge and skill base.

■ Service: The Delivering Service Excellence Program is an intense program that equips our employees with the skills and knowledge to deliver quality service to each other and to our external customers. During the program, coach/participant teams engage in a series of structured courses to develop specific service-oriented competencies.

■ Manufacturing: To support our print professionals, we offer learning programs in the areas of Universal Print Skills, Web Press, Sheetfed Press, Flexo Press, and Finishing Basics. In addition to these learning programs, we also offer Lead Operator Certifications in the areas of Web Press, Sheetfed Press, Flexo Press, and Saddlestitch Finishing. All of these programs include certification through the National Council for Print Industry Certifications.

■ Leadership: To equip our front line leaders across the organization we introduced a new program called Leadership Essentials.

The Leadership Essentials program was designed to create a series of collaborative learning experiences targeted directly to front line managers, supervisors, and team leads. A local leader, referred to as a Field Coach, supports participants through the program. The Field Coach partners with the participant to explore the eight core leadership competencies presented in a series of courses.

Each course may include some or all of the following learning elements: Online Coaching, Individual or Group Activities, Scenario-based Activities, Animation, Video, Job Aids, Infographics, and the sharing of ideas via Social Learning within the “Leader’s Lounge: A Digital Hangout”.

The eight primary leadership essentials explored in the program include Establishing Credibility; Dealing with Stress; Listening Actively; Communicating Effectively; Navigating Conflict; Coaching for Performance; Financial Literacy; and Customer Focus.

■ The Green Bay/De Pere, Wisconsin Inclusion council partners with the Green Bay School System to help students struggling in the traditional study environment. High school juniors and seniors attend two-hours a day at school and then participate in six-hours of on the job training working in the plant.

Education and Training

RR Donnelley’s Learning and Development team is dedicated to helping create a competitive advantage for our organization by developing skills, transferring knowledge and sharing the expertise of our most important asset – our people. We offer employee development solutions in the areas of: sales, service, manufacturing, and leadership. All of our development solutions are available 24/7 to all employees through the RR Donnelley Learning Connection.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

■ Crawfordsville, Indiana – Created a mentoring program to provide opportunities to assist employees in their professional development to maximize employee potential. Participants work on resume writing, interviewing skills, and leadership skills.

■ During 2015, RR Donnelley’s Global Document Solutions team developed a sales Academy. It will officially launch in early 2016 to develop its sales community and equip them with the tools and techniques to create demand within our customers and prospects, critical to the group’s success in the future.

■ Our Global Print Solutions team funded scholarships for talented young students in Kraków and Starachowice, Poland. In addition to financial support, the scholarship holders receive personalized training.

■ RR Donnelley in the United Kingdom (UK) introduced a program to improve managers’ skills and better equip them to manage, lead and develop teams and individuals. Since its launch, over 200 managers have successfully completed one of the three levels: Executive Mentoring & Leadership Development, Management Diploma and Management Certificate.

■ The RR Donnelley Chennai, India team collaborated with the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) to aid the Indian Government’s National Digital Literacy Mission. They trained 94 staff members from housekeeping, and security and transportation teams to understand basic functionalities of digital technologies like computers, mobile phones and tablets. Nearly 2,000 training hours have been invested in these two programs.

■ Volunteers in Trivandrum, India participated in Mission One Million organized by GTech (Group of Technology Companies) companies in Kerala, India. The carnival was to raise funds to support special education programs for children with dyslexia.

■ In an effort to help and develop information technology in the current educational infrastructure in rural areas, volunteers visited a rural school (Pareigama Maha Vidyalaya in the Mathugama area of Sri Lanka) to donate six computers and four computer tables for the 150 student population along with needed stationery items.

■ “Reading for the Visually Challenged” has been an ongoing activity in Chennai, India. Dedicated volunteers attend sessions every week to read aloud from textbooks, record lessons for students to learn at home, and generally help with assignments and projects.

■ The annual ‘Back to School’ drive in Trivandrum, India helped underprivileged students with notebooks and stationery for their school year. Approximately, 5400 books and pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners and pencil boxes were distributed among 1,141 children from four institutions.

■ Global Turnkey Solutions (Brno, Czech Republic; Lodz, Poland facilities) promoted health and well-being by offering their employees flu and encephalitis vaccinations as part of their medical plan.

■ The Global Turnkey Solutions team in Singapore participated in a workshop on Self Discovery to maximize their potential, increase and practice skills on how to reduce stress and increase positivity. Weekly mindfulness sessions offered meditation skills that helped them minimize potential conflicts and reduce stress in their everyday lives. Additionally, a First Aid Awareness program was held for office staff by a team of First Aid trainers. Participants learned the basics of how to handle emergencies and practiced different types of bandaging.

■ Walking Your Way to Health – RR Donnelley Global Outsourcing, Chennai, India employees launched a health initiative that included 290 participants from 58 teams who participated in a 100-day walking challenge. Pedometers were provided to all participants. The teams and individuals that recorded the most number of steps received awards. A total of 276,461,141 steps or 164551 kilometers were recorded over the 100-days.

■ International Yoga Day took place in Trivandrum, India when employees organized a yoga session conducted by the Isha Foundation. The session focused on enhancing vitality, focus, memory and productivity, including correct posture, which helps stabilize the mind and body!

■ RR Donnelley Colombo, Sri Lanka participated in an eye camp where more than 250 employees received vision tests and free prescriptions for eyesight disorders. They also organized an awareness session on the effects of smoking. The objective of the program was to increase awareness of the unhealthy effects of smoking and offer advice on successful methods used to help others quit.

■ More than 200 RR Donnelley employees also participated in the annual medical camp in Colombo. Blood sugars were tested and employees could talk with knowledgeable medical personnel to understand the benefits of healthy diet and exercise.

■ The RR Donnelley site in Debrecen, Hungary offered a number of health promotion programs for all employees, including allergy screening; flu vaccinations; and lectures on healthy living.

■ RR Donnelley Debrecen, Hungary supported running competitions in an attempt to get the larger population active and on the road to fitness.

■ At the Global Turnkey Solutions, Ireland facility, 10 employees completed training as Occupational First Aiders and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Health/Well-Being ■ Global Turnkey Solutions, Lodz, Poland implemented an “Education for Health and Safety at Work” program and they have more than over 40 employees trained in first aid.

■ In the UK, Global Document Solutions (GDS) offers employees the opportunity to participate in a ‘Cycle to Work’ program, which is a government-backed initiative, which helps employees to save on the cost of a bike and cycling safety accessories.

■ All GDS employees in the UK have access to a confidential, complementary well-being program. The program offers on-line support and advice on a range of topics, including health and well-being; debt advice; travel; family crisis and legal information. It also offers employees telephone and one-on-one counseling.

■ For the second year running, seven of our Warsaw, Poland employees represented RR Donnelley in a company “Run” organized by the Everest Foundation. This charity event helps sick and disabled children who are receiving challenging physical therapy. The company run combines three important areas: healthy lifestyle; integration between the companies; and the most important – charity activities.

■ In December 2015 – 19 employees from RR Donnelley Language Solutions in the Madrid office took part in the Seventh Annual Madrid Solidarity Race, with the goal of promoting physical activity, citizen participation and fundraising for different non-governmental organization projects in collaboration with UNICEF, Cáritas, the Red Cross and the local food bank.

■ Congratulations to the Language Solutions 5K running team who ran the Race for Life and raised £819.87(US $1,185) for Cancer Research UK. Kudos to Francesca Rivano, Tatiana Gordeeva, Nunzia Santoro, Freya Jennings, Suvi Sylvelin, Milda Dimisiene, Esther Cottey, Michela Simonelli, Franziska Hardmeier, Chloe Ratcliffe, Sarah Petruzziello, Maria Oppong-Da-Silva and Ti Zhao. A special well done to Milda who completed the race in a record time of 23 minutes, 50 seconds and came in third out of 1,652 runners.

■ The RR Donnelley Global Print Solutions team in Poland launched a campaign addressed to its employees and their families on active living. They organized a photo contest (entitled: Show Your Active Living), and hosted a picnic with many activity-based attractions as well as a one-day ski trip for interested participants.

In 2015, more than 1,000 volunteers in seven countries across three continents in 62 cities and towns in North America, Europe and Asia took part in service projects during our Global Community Connect event. RR Donnelley employees worked with 150 different charities including local food and blood banks, homeless shelters, schools for children with disabilities, libraries, recycling projects, building and repairing homes and more.

Employees at RR Donnelley devote many hours every year to community projects. Last year our employees donated more than 19,146 community volunteers hours participating or leading community outreach programs. In 2015, we had more than 62 teams improving their local communities around the world during our annual Global Community Connect event.

■ Feed My Starving Children

RR Donnelley participated in Feed My Starving Children’s Mobile Pack event on August 12 at Union Station in Chicago, Illinois. Forty-six employees from RR Donnelley’s Wacker Drive location and a few from our Warrenville and St. Charles, Illinois facilities helped pack 92,016 meals; enough to feed 252 children for one year. The mobile pack was a four-day event with more than 50 corporations taking part in helping pack food for the hungry. The weekly total of meals packed, 762,048, is enough to feed 2,087 kids a meal every day for a year.

■ Mercy Home for Boys and Girls

Several RR Donnelley employees from the Warrenville and Wacker Drive locations participated in the Chicago Marathon on October 11 in downtown Chicago, Illinois for the local charity Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Mercy Home has been a solution for children in crisis for more than 100 years by providing children with support and guidance they need to realize their own potential and make positive decisions. They were a part of the Mercy Homes Heroes Team, which helped raised $475,000 for Mercy Home and donated more than 88 hours of community service.

■ Bernie’s Book Bank Drive

Founded in September 2009, Bernie’s Book Bank collects processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland. Since its inception, Bernie’s Book Bank has distributed more than 4 million books and currently serves 130,000 at-risk children with 12 quality books each year. In order to serve at-risk children throughout Chicagoland, Bernie’s Book Bank moved into a 35,000-square-foot facility Lake Bluff, Illinois. This year the RR Donnelley Warrenville, Illinois employees hosted a book drive for Bernie’s Book Bank and collected 1,021 books for Chicagoland children.

■ Longwood Elementary School

The RR Donnelley Warrenville, Illinois facility adopted Longwood Elementary School, an at-risk school in Du Page County, Illinois. In addition, they helped raise funds to sponsor Longwood Elementary School’s first Robotics Team.

■ Cristo Rey Jesuit High School

The RR Donnelley employees of the Wacker and Warrenville facilities donated more than 2,336 hours to students in Greater Chicago through the Cristo Rey Work Study Program and Summer Internship Program.

■ Philippines; In Manila conducted a donation drive for Pediatric Cancer Patients of Bahay Aruga. Cleaning materials, food supplies and more were distributed. Volunteers even entertained the children with magic shows and games.

■ Sri Lanka; In Colombo, in two separate drives, the team donated stationery kits to a school and shoes for school children from low income families. Another drive was organized to collect wheel chairs and crutches for incapacitated war veterans and 14 volunteers visited the home for war veterans.

■ India; In Trivandrum ran a collection drive for the flood-affected people of Chennai. Various relief materials such as clothes, blankets, baby food and other food items were collected.

Global Community Connect event in Manila

■ Wishing Well was a collection drive for Bro.-Siga Social Service Guild, a group working for the development of the community, where employees were encouraged to donate 22 different kinds of utility items for the home at Chennai, India. Volunteers from RR Donnelley Chennai visited Vidya Sagar, a school for the differently abled and interacted with the audience, and hosted entertainment programs for the residents.

■ Project Prep-Up, Trivandrum, India – Government Special Home & Children’s Home for Boys is managed and governed by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Kerala. The home is a shelter for 33 children who have faced abuse and whose families cannot afford to give them a basic education. Volunteers in Trivandrum, India visit the children every weekend, encouraging them to learn by taking a fun and interactive approach to studies.

■ Our RR Donnelley Chennai, India team worked with a local orphanage called Anaikum Karangal. Students from the orphanage were brought into our facility for activities that included a session on grooming and career tips. They were given a tour of the Premedia floor to experience the feel of an office environment and a computer was donated to the orphanage.

■ The RR Donnelley Trivandrum, India team hosted children from the Government Special Home and Children’s Home, Trivandrum with inspiring sessions and games. Volunteers cleaned their home and established a playground for them.

■ The RR Donnelley Colombo, Sri Lanka team visited Prithipura Infants Home, a non-governmental organization for physically and mentally challenged infants and adults. Volunteers visited the home, cleaned the premises, and created colorful murals on the walls.

Our experience in making REACH an employee-driven social responsibility initiative at Global Outsourcing teaches us that our predominantly millennial workforce wants the opportunity to do something more, go beyond their job roles, to be better human beings and to give back to society. They took necessary steps in the area of leveraging volunteerism as an important factor in keeping its people engaged, motivated and productive, and the success has been a revelation. Since its inception seven years ago, REACH – Global Outsourcing’s social responsibility group – has been creating avenues for employees to participate in initiatives that give back to society. Along with the core committee members, the dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers put in 4,541 hours, and drove the causes that REACH is committed to in the areas of Education, Health & Wellness, Community Outreach and the Environment.

■ The RR Donnelley team in Manila helped to facilitate free medical consultation and medicines to orphans. In addition, games were organized and goody bags and hygiene kits containing toiletries were distributed.

■ The RR Donnelley Global Document Solutions (GDS) team had a very active year of community activities in the UK and Ireland. The GDS team contributed more than £60,000 (US $91,545) to benefit the UK-based organization I CAN – which helps support children with speech, language and communication needs. GDS also put its creative design skills to work to support LauraLynn, Ireland’s children’s hospice. RR Donnelley Global Document Solutions employees have volunteered over 1,600 hours of time, and raised more than £5,500 (US $8,392) for a variety of other UK charities. In fact, each RR Donnelley employee in the UK and Ireland can volunteer two days a year using company time for a charitable organization. This can be as part of an organized team challenge, pro bono work, or individually at a charity, school or community group of their choice. In support of this initiative, Global Document Solutions identified a volunteering partner for each of our major sites to provide a wide range of volunteering activities including gardening, reading with children, donating furniture and books, collecting schools vouchers from supermarkets and much more.

■ The Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) is a charity that provides homes for thousands of dogs a year. Recently, the RR Donnelley Language Solutions Hong Kong team hosted a dog walking charity event to raise awareness about the responsibilities that come with owning and caring for a dog.

■ Early in the year, RR Donnelley Language Solutions sponsored the Women’s teams (Hong Kong vs. Rest of the World) at the Country of Origin tournaments (as part of the Hong Kong 7’s festivities). Representing Language Solutions, Christy Ma played Scrum Half and Blind Wing for the Rest of the World team and played with aggressive runs breaking through strong lines of defense.

■ RR Donnelley’s Language Solutions’ US Entertainment & Charity Committee participated in New York Cares Day Spring at Fort Greene Park. New York Cares Day Spring is New York City’s biggest spring cleaning event that attracts thousands of volunteers. Each year, those volunteers go to parks, community gardens, and public spaces throughout the five boroughs to remove invasive species of plants, pick up litter, repaint benches, plant, and clear out old growth from New York City’s urban green spaces.

■ Thousands of children live with their families in the New York City homeless shelter system and many of them return to school each year without the school supplies, they need. From day one, they look and feel different from their classmates. In fact, one of the most devastating consequences of homelessness is the impact it has on a child’s education. OPERATION BACKPACK helps close this gap, providing new backpacks full of supplies to homeless students. The RR Donnelley Financial Solutions Group and Global Outsourcing Diversity & Inclusion Council held a Drive during July/August to collect much needed supplies for the backpacks. Language Solutions in New York made huge contributions to the drive, donating many items like notebooks, pens, and highlighters as well as entire filled backpacks. In total, there were 30 filled backpacks and nine boxes of school supplies donated.

■ RR Donnelley’s Hong Kong team took part in Global Community Connect Day with Food Angel. Fifty-six RR Donnelley locations supported projects ranging from helping schools, libraries, food banks, recycling, outdoor clean up, and building houses. The team learned a lot about food waste and hunger in Hong Kong and the many ways to help and have a positive impact on the local community.

■ The Brno, Czech Republic facility held team-building activities for employees, including walking trips, sports tournaments and a visit to the theater.

■ Christmas Jumpers In Aid of The Simon Community; The Limerick and Cork offices of Global Turnkey Solutions in Ireland held the Annual Christmas Jumper Competition. A large number of employees took part and the competition was tough, with many creative and festive outfits being worn. The event was organized by the Ireland Employee Sports and Social Committee. All funds raised on the day went to the Simon Community, a charity offering housing and support to men and women who are homeless.

■ The RR Donnelley Global Turnkey Solutions (GTS), Cork, Ireland office held its second Annual Team Hope’s Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. This appeal met with great enthusiasm and generosity from the Irish staff. For the weeks prior to filling the boxes,

employees purchased and donated hygiene products, writing items, small clothing items and a toy or game for some of the world’s poorest children. The 2015 boxes from Ireland went to street children, orphans, children in hospitals, poor families, war victims or other needy situations in Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland, Rwanda, Romania, Transnistria, Kosovo, Moldova, Ukraine, and Albania. In total, fifty-two boxes were wrapped and filled by the Irish employees and reached their destinations just in time for the Holidays.

■ The RR Donnelley Global Turnkey Solutions, Limerick, Ireland office held a Coffee Morning in aid of Milford Hospice. Employees baked and brought cakes and raised more than €400.00 (US $447). This contribution made such a difference and provided Milford Hospice the opportunity to provide essential services to patients and families throughout the local region.

■ The RR Donnelley Global Turnkey Solutions (GTS), Cork, Ireland office held a Coffee Morning in the canteen to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. It was held on the week of “Daffodil Day”, which was one of the primary Irish Cancer Society fundraising events. The team raised approximatly €500 euro (US $558) for this extremely worthwhile cause. This is the third consecutive year GTS has supported the event.

■ Allentown, Pennsylvania – RR Donnelley supported a job fair sponsored by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The job fair was organized in part to celebrate National Disability Awareness Month. The opportunity provided a connection with the Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living (LVCIL). This organization works with individuals with disabilities and identifies employment opportunities. RR Donnelley was able to provide a part time opportunity for two individuals associated with LVCIL. Moving forward, we will be identifying part time RR Donnelley positions that can provide further opportunities for individuals from LVCIL.

■ The Schools’ Business Partnership, Business in the Community Ireland Global Turnkey Solutions (GTS), Cork and Limerick are working in conjunction with St Vincent’s Secondary School in Cork, Ireland. Employees are delivering the skills at work program. GTS first got involved with this initiative in 2014. The initial scope of the project was expanded from our initial engagement, as we have seen the benefits it is providing to the 5th year students and the school. Employees from across a broad range of disciplines are involved in this project. Students are helped with their resumes, mock interviews, presentation skills and they have the opportunity to interview employees about their roles and what study and career path would need to be taken to follow their example.

■ RR Donnelley Canada has supported Reach for the Rainbow for the past 6 years – receiving the charity’s Award for Excellence in 2015 in recognition of our work with them over the years. Reach for the Rainbow is dedicated to integrating children and youth with disabilities into the mainstream of society through summer camp programs.

■ RR Donnelley Canada together with Scotiabank has supported Habitat for Humanity “in a variety of ways including through employees joining in a hands-on effort for this great cause.” Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing for families in need.

■ RR Donnelley Hungary – for the third consecutive year, RR Donnelley has donated paper to schools and kindergartens. They also provided practical educational support to a local school.

■ The St. Charles, Illinois Label facility continued to work with Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley to provide free, one-on-one literacy tutoring to employees who want to improve their command of the English language including reading, writing and speaking. The volunteers met with employees one hour each week at the plant for their one-on-one session.

■ Allentown, Pennsylvania – continues their strong support of the US Troops. Over the past few years, Allentown has adopted ten different soldiers and their divisions. These efforts have reached hundreds of soldiers stationed in Egypt, Afghanistan and Kuwait to learn of specific needs the Troop might have. Our Allentown employees then donate these items for the soldiers. The soldiers look forward to receiving and sharing their packages. The facility’s efforts have touched so many. After the most recent shipment, Allentown was sent an official Certificate of Authenticity along with the American Flag which they proudly flew over Camp Buehring in Kuwait on December 11, 2015 in honor of RR Donnelley Allentown’s support of the US Troops.

The Board of Directors, primarily through its Governance, Responsibility & Technology Committee is responsible for overseeing implementation of the Program and compliance with the Principles of Ethical Business Conduct. The Board has assigned operational responsibility for the Program to our Ethics and Compliance Committee, comprised of 14 executives from all parts of RR Donnelley who meet on a regular basis to monitor the Program. It remains, however, the responsibility of every officer, director and employee of RR Donnelley to comply with the Program and policies.

We have a comprehensive management system so we can effectively control our impacts worldwide. This system uses a model that matches well-accepted international management standards, such as ISO and the principles of OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program. The company also received awards in the employee safety, environmental sustainability and employee development categories.

Our company has clearly defined EH&S roles and responsibilities. We empower teamwork on EH&S issues by having open lines of communication all the way from facilities to senior management. Any RR Donnelley business unit can quickly deal with any EH&S issue and can just as quickly take advantage of new opportunities to improve the environment, safety and well-being of our people. Every level of our organization has EH&S responsibilities. Regional EH&S teams give us strategic direction and improve decision-making with issues relevant to our global operations.

We have a company EH&S Policy that we make available to the public in eight languages. It guides all of our internal programs and practices, and states our commitment to “… continuously improve global EH&S performance by utilizing practices that protect employees.”

As a Fortune 500 company, we have all of the right tools, procedures, and processes in place to manage safety compliance. However, we go beyond simple compliance.

We have also created an environment in which every employee, every day, looks out for their safety as well as the safety of others. This program and our employees’ dedication have allowed us to earn a Recordable Case Rate that is 55 percent below the U.S. print industry average. Even so, our goal remains zero injuries. Moreover, this is not a goal on which we are willing to compromise. We also focus intently on employee health and well-being by improving work environments and offering health events and wellness coaching.

We not only work to ensure that our employees leave work in the same condition in which they arrived, but our goal is for employees to leave the workplace with a stronger safety mindset through the education provided in the workplace. We stress the importance of prioritizing safety, even when not at work. Our safety program includes continuous safety training for our employees’ professional and personal lives. However, the true difference in our employee safety program is the accountability of our employees.

Training at RR Donnelley goes far beyond safety. We recognize career needs and provide ways for employees to learn what they need in order to advance. For example, our leadership programs help high-potential employees improve their leadership abilities. Across our diverse business landscape, training is tailored to improve employee skills and effectiveness.

RR Donnelley’s Policy is to strive to continuously improve global Environmental

Health and Safety (EH&S) performance by utilizing practices that protect

employees and the environment, including reducing the quantity of emissions,

developing opportunities for recycling and pollution prevention, and using paper,

energy and other resources more efficiently. Customers are pursuing these same

kinds of goals and they are increasingly seeking to work in cooperation with their

key suppliers to improve sustainability and reduce costs.

Our EH&S story is one of good citizenship, and good stewardship of our people, the environment and all with whom we come in contact.

SAFETY; strive for100% safety, 100% of the time

■ In the UK, we were awarded the International Safety Award with merit by the British Safety Council. We have achieved the award for five consecutive years.

■ The Chengdu China facility opened in 2011 and has been recognized every year for excellent safety performance and innovative safety programs. Awards include: 2012 Chengdu City Advanced Safety Enterprise for Chengdu City

(3 yr. award), 2013 Chengdu Level 3 Enterprise of Standard Safety Management Award from Chengdu City, 2013 Chengdu City Safety Culture Model Enterprise. In 2014 Kissinger Chen the site’s EH&S Leader was recognized with “The Most Responsible Safety Manager of Chengdu Award” from Pixian County Advanced Safety Enterprise. Only ten people in Chengdu received this award with a population of approximately 8MM.

■ In June 2015, Global Turnkey Solutions, (GTS) Lodz, Poland

celebrated National Safety Month. All employees were

encouraged to take up the safety challenge and get a chance

to win a prize in a “Safety at Work” quiz. Concurrently, the

facility launched the “Safety Ideas” program. This program is

designed to enable workers to share suggestions and

solutions related to health and safety at RR Donnelley.

STATISTICS WORTH CELEBRATINGIn 2015, RR Donnelley’s safety performance is 55% below the industry average and that is worth celebrating. Here’s why. Each year, the OSHA Recordable Case Rate for the Printing Industry is calculated. This rate measures how often employees in our industry are injured in accidents on the job. Last year, our worldwide recordable rate was 55% below the industry’s average - reflecting the exceptional safety performance that our employees continue to achieve. Safety is the first and the most important measure of operational excellence at RR Donnelley, so exceptional performance is worth celebrating.

In 2015, we had 183 facilities that celebrated a Safety Milestone of more than 1 year or 1MM hours without a Day-Away or Recordable Case. RR Donnelley Mexico developed a “Safety Campaign” to raise awareness and reinforce the importance of working with safe practices and under safe conditions. By continually educating its employees, the facility aims to establish a safety mindset in which everybody actively looks after their own safety and the safety of their colleagues.

Extending our commitment to our employee’s families was an important element of this campaign, therefore they developed a series of events in which employees’ spouses, children and relatives visited the plants, learned about all the appropriate safety equipment, attended EH&S conferences and understood the procedures, practices and processes in which employees must comply.

Afterwards, a lunch was provided for all the visitors, with games and activities enjoyed by the children. A Security Drawing Contest was also held so the children could artistically recreate their learning experience about security at RR Donnelley. The grand prize was a tablet and for drawings to be published in the 2016 RR Donnelley safety calendar.

An added bonus was a photograph of RR Donnelley families dressed in important safety apparel used in RR Donnelley facilities. The photograph was designed to serve as a reminder that families are one of the reasons we practice safety first every day.

The International Standards Organization (ISO) has developed an environmental management system, commonly referred to as

“ISO14000.” It is designed to provide a tool to allow a site to control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services,

and to continue to improve its environmental performance. As with the ISO 9000 system and the OHSAS18001 specification, this

system is intended to provide the framework for continuous improvement.

RR Donnelley sites that pursue ISO 14001 are those that wish to:

■ Use a systems approach to reduce their consumption of energy and materials and to reduce the cost of waste management

■ Continuously improve environmental performance

■ Assure and demonstrate to others conformance to our EHS Policy

■ Have an independent third-party certify its management system

OHSAS 18001: The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Specification (OHSAS) 18001 certification is earned by sites that have efficiently implemented safety and health management into overall business operations.

Environmental Rates Often Go Beyond Government StandardsAt RR Donnelley, we have made great strides in reducing environmental emissions and conserving natural resources. Our goal is for

Toxic Release Inventory:

The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) is a publicly available USA EPA database that contains information on toxic chemical releases and

other waste management activities reported annually by certain covered industry groups as well as federal facilities. This inventory

was established under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA) and expanded by the Pollution

Prevention Act of 1990. As part of our commitment to reporting our results, we are including our most recent TRI data.

practices. We guide our customers in choosing sustainable options.

Waste Minimization: Every day, we reduce, reuse and recycle in

all of our facilities.

Stewardship: We find, learn and share best practices and

demonstrate our commitments to sustainability.

RR Donnelley is pursuing energy efficiency programs involving

several different technologies that we are installing in our plants

worldwide.

We reuse, repair, repurpose and recycle our process materials and

by-products to limit what enters the waste stream. We work with

our customers and suppliers to make packaging environmentally

responsible. RR Donnelley also teams with others to share and

learn best practices in sustainability. These include the

Sustainability Committee for the Local Search Association, the

Business Roundtable and the Gravure Association of Americas.

RR Donnelley has extensive supply-chain expertise and

continues to focus on environmentally responsible products.

We collaborate with our customers and suppliers to help

minimize our combined effects on the environment. From our

associations with certified forestry initiatives to our sourcing of

more sustainable inks, our collective efforts help each of us to

minimize the environmental footprint of products produced.

RESOURCE EFFICIENCY

■ The GTS Houston, Texas facility undertook an LED lighting

initiative in 2015 fitting light switches with sensors in office

areas and bathrooms.

■ Encouraging employees to switch off lights in offices and in their homes when not needed marked Earth Hour in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

■ Examples of our initiatives relating to energy efficiency

include lighting upgrades, heat recovery systems, and energy

efficient computer systems. We also participate in electrical

demand response programs to help reduce consumption

during peak consumption periods, such as during extreme hot

or cold weather events, to allow local utilities to manage

demand without brownouts or investment in costly generation

capacity.

■ Our Global Document Solutions offering in the UK ranked

70 out of more than 2,000 participants in the Carbon

Reduction Commitment Performance League Table, making it

a leading contributor to carbon reduction efforts.

■ The new Knutsford, UK site powers its electricity from 100%

renewable sources.

■ Our UK facilities in Barnwood, Gateshead, Huntingdon,

Lancing, Leicester and Tewkesbury are certified to the

ISO 50001 Energy Management System. The purpose of

ISO 50001:2011 is to enable organizations to establish the

systems and processes necessary to improve energy

performance, including energy efficiency, use and

consumption. Implementation of this International Standard

is intended to lead to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions

and other related environmental impacts through the

systematic management of energy. The implementation of the

standard also ensures we are compliant with energy

legislation – Carbon Reduction Commitment Regulations

(CRC) and the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme

Regulations 2014 (ESOS).

■ The Tewkesbury, UK, facility has completed a two-year lighting

replacement program. Changing from fluorescent to LED

lighting is projected to save an estimated 320,677 kWh of

electricity (equivalent to 169 tonnes CO2)

■ The Krakow, Poland, facility is using a heat recovery system

to preheat the printing press dryers, reducing gas use by 20%

on one press. The site is also planning to implement the

system on the other presses.

■ RR Donnelley’s offices in Chicago, Illinois are housed in one

of only 57 existing high-rise buildings in the City of Chicago to

earn Gold LEED® certification. Furthermore, our LEED

performance score ranks our building among the Top 10 of

these 57. LEED® is a whole-building approach that encourages

and guides a collaborative, integrated design and construction

process that optimizes environmental and energy factors.

■ A high priority for our team at Chennai, India is to drive

energy efficiency. Our facilities team carried out simple but

effective measures and delivered significant savings:

• Harmonic filters were installed at the electrical transformer

junctions in one of our facilities in Chennai to control and

evenly distribute the power harmonic levels (360 degree)

inside the facility. The Harmonic filters have also helped

improve the lifespan of all electric equipment in the facility.

The installation of Harmonic filters has reduced energy

consumption by 7-8%.

• CFL bulbs at shop floors including common areas, lobbies

and HUB rooms converted to LEDs. The transition from CFL

bulbs to LEDs have resulted in energy savings of 8%.

• Efficient use of Building Management Systems to better

maintain and manage air conditioning across the floors

resulting in 5% energy savings.

■ Our San Bernardo, Chile, facility completed an audit to

obtain certification from the federal environmental agency as

a Clean Manufacturing Print plant.

■ In 2015, Global Print Solutions (GPS) Europe printing plants

in Poland maintain EU Ecolabel certification for printed

products – signifying low air and water pollution during the

paper production and printing process, reduced

environmental damage or risks related to the use of

hazardous chemicals, and increased recyclability.

■ The GTS Houston, Texas facility maintains a recycling and

waste reduction program for paper items such as pallets,

plastics and cardboard.

■ In the Global Turnkey Solutions, Lodz, Poland facility all the

lighting systems in the production area, warehouse and

offices were changed to an LED system, giving 30% of

economy on power consumption. The lighting in all the social

rooms is connected to a timer and/or motion detector to

achieve additional power savings. In cooperation with the

suppliers of the vending and coffee machines all machines

have been reprogrammed and will automatically switch off

during the weekends to reduce the power consumption. All

vending machines are also equipped with LED lights. Part of

the warehouse was also equipped with motion detection for

tests and analysis of profitability of installation of the system

ensuring a safe workspace. These improvements have

provided a significant energy savings of more than

330,000 kWh in 2015 as seen below.

PROCUREMENT

■ In Poland and Hungary, the share of FSC or PEFC certified

papers exceeded 75% in Q4 2015. (51% in Q4 2014).

■ More than 198 worldwide print facilities are triple-certified to

Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), Sustainable Forestry

Initiative® (SFI®), and Programme for the Endorsement of

Forestry Certification (PEFC) chain-of-custody standards.

These certifying authorities promote responsible forest

management and continuous improvement in standards and

practices, and allow our customers to produce their printed

products on certified paper bearing the respective logo.

■ In Poland and Hungary, more than half of the paper we used

in Q4 2014 met the Chain of Custody standards of the Forest

Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the

Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

■ We are proud of our commitment to responsible procurement,

and highlight this through our Regulated Product and Materials

(RPM) Safety Specifications, which outline the requirements

for all materials supplied to RR Donnelley. The full version of

the RPM may be reviewed at www.rrd.com/supplierinfo.

■ Spangler Graphics (Kansas City, Kansas), an RR Donnelley

company worked with our corrugate box supplier to focus on

purchasing boxes made from 100% recycled paper. They

saved the equivalent of nearly 600 trees, 245,000 gallons of

water, 140,000 kWh of electricity, and 116 cubic yards of

landfill space.

■ The RR Donnelley GPS Europe printing plants in Poland

gained EU Ecolabel certification for printed products – a

guarantee of low air and water pollution during paper

production and printing process, reduced environmental

damage or risks related to the use of hazardous chemicals

and increased recyclability.

■ In 2015, the RR Donnelley Kendallville, IN, facility,

produced 2.4 million FSC/SFI books using approximately

3.8 million lbs. of certified paper and recycled

4.5 millions lbs. of paper. The facility recycled 518,855

printing plates and also recycled CD‘s, ink cartridges,

banding material, shrink-wrap, plate pallets, and wood

spacers.

■ RR Donnelley Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania produced 112 printed

jobs using 2,307,822 pounds of FSC paper in accordance

with Chain of Custody requirements. They also recycled

3,177,586 pounds of paper; returning it to the mills in baled

form to make into a fine grade of printing paper.

WASTE MINIMIZATION

■ The Colombo team and Think Green (Pvt.) Ltd. implemented an e-cycling process in the office premises. All employees donated e-Waste with the objective to save time and energy by easy disposal, create awareness amongst employees on green initiatives, and utilization of e-waste.

■ Carqueville Printing (Streamwood, Illinois), an RR Donnelley

company, worked to recycle their laminate trim waste to make

soles for gym shoes, thereby avoiding the landfill.

■ The RR Donnelley, Manchester, Connecticut, facility put an

aggressive recycling program in place by using specifically

labeled Gaylord containers throughout the plant. The result

was an increase in recycling of Plastic (5,600+ pounds,

paper (4,000+ pounds), metal and chemicals. Manchester

also saw a decrease in trash from 18,000 pounds in 2013 to

5,700 pounds in 2014. On average, trash production per

associate declined from over 2 pounds (2013) to ¾ of a

pound (2014); a 63% improvement.

■ In Mexico, we have earned the Social Responsibility Badge

awarded by CEMEFI, the Mexican Center for Philanthropy, four

years in a row for our waste separation and recycling activities.

At our San Juan Del Rio, Mexico, facility we treat and reuse

wastewater to irrigate the landscaping at the facility.

■ Five UK Global Document Solutions facilities redirect all

waste that would have gone to a landfill to a materials

recovery facility, which further sorts out the waste, and, as

part of an ‘Energy from Waste’ program, incinerates all

unusable material for the purpose of generating heat or

electricity.

■ In 2015, our Toronto facility (MIL) continued the solvent

recovery program. Working with their waste vendor,

235 drums of blanket wash waste (approx. 48,880 liters or

12,912 US Gallons) was prevented from becoming hazardous

waste. We also re-purchased recycled blanket wash, which

reduced our raw material consumption of petroleum light

distillate by up to 24,916 liters or 6,582 US Gallons, and

recycled 34,784 lbs. of aluminum via our plate-recycling

program.

■ Across Europe, all of RR Donnelley’s Language Solutions

offices participate in a paper and waste recycling program to

minimize the number of pages printed. The offices reduce

electricity usage by 20% through the use of motion sensitive

low-energy lighting. They also encourage recycling by

segregating waste from paper, cupboard, plastic bottles and

containers.

■ The GTS Houston, Texas facility has maintains a recycling

and waste reduction and a recycling Program for paper items

such as pallets, plastics and cardboard.

■ Through their ongoing waste minimization efforts, the

Crawfordsville, IN plant has reduced their trash from 33,000

tons in 2013 to 18,000 tons in 2015. These results have

been achieved through various site initiatives including:

Identification of new recycling vendors, sharing best practices

with other local companies, color coding recycle containers

and recycling centers to facilitate waste segregation,

increasing employee training to clarify what can be recycled,

and using compactors to maximize the amount of recycled

material that will fit on truck trailers to minimize the amount

of pickups required.

■ Tewell Warren (Denver, Colorado), an RR Donnelley company,

was among one of three businesses in Denver to be

nominated as a “Green Business of the Year” by the Denver

Metro Chamber of Commerce; becoming the first printer in

Colorado to be “Certifiably Green.” They also received a

Bronze Award for “Environmental Leadership” in Colorado.
