Transcript of Glen Allen High School
Message from Mr. Davenport, PrincipalI would like to congratulate everyone in this Senior Class. It’s been a long road, but
you made it and we are so proud of you! This year has not ended the way we
anticipated, but through it all this senior class has been an extraordinary group to
work with. You have created a culture of integrity, school pride, and good
citizenship. There have been so many fabulous moments where I was truly
impressed by the talent, the good choices, and the positive attitudes shown by the
members of this senior class.
Message from Ms. Bonner 12th Grade Administrator
I can’t believe the Class of 2020 is finally graduating, and getting ready to begin their next
chapter. It seems like just yesterday, with your room and bus number pinned to your shirt,
that you started Kindergarten. You are a group of young adults who have continuously
shown good character, empathy, and tremendous grit. We wish we could celebrate your
accomplishments in person, but please focus on the good. This “pause” has allowed us all to
realize what is important, and to make more of an effort to find the joy in life. We are so
proud of all that you have accomplished, and we cannot wait to hear about your future
success! Take pride in the fact that you have reached this milestone, and enjoy this time of
celebration! Once a Jaguar, always a Jaguar! One team, one heartbeat, one family!

GRASP Last Dollar Scholarships
In the 2008-2009 school year, GRASP began complementing the
in-school advisor program by providing Last Dollar Scholarships.
Although GRASP advisors are often able to assemble a sizable
financial aid package for students, frequently other costs are not
covered by the financial aid package. The need for small, targeted
Last Dollar Scholarships became apparent, and through the
generosity of our foundation, business and personal donors these
scholarships became possible. The Last Dollar Scholarship of $1000
is awarded to De’Shawn Threatts!
GRASP Pathways Scholarship GRASP’s Community College Pathways Scholarship is awarded to a
student who will graduate with an Associate’s degree and transfer to a 4
year college to complete a Bachelor’s degree. This $1000 scholarship ,
renewable for a second year, is awarded to Joseph Whitlock!

The Truist Scholarship is part of the National
Merit Scholarship Corporation. Winners of

academic accomplishments from a pool of
candidates who fulfilled the sponsor's criteria
and scored high on the 2018 PSAT/NMSQT®.

Departmental AwardsDepartmental awards go to those seniors who demonstrated
achievement, hard work, and a genuine love of learning in the
respective departments, as chosen by the faculty members in
each department.
Faculty Medallions The Glen Allen High School Faculty medallions are presented to members of the graduating
class who have made a difference in the success of our school. These are students who have
helped to make our school what it is today. Although each individual’s contributions differ,
their value does not and they have made a lasting impact and impression on the class, the
school, and the faculty.
Faculty Medallion- Sally MorrisonThis young lady is truly a ray of sunshine. She is so warm
and joyful, even in the most challenging or stressful
situations. People truly love being around her. She is also
incredibly tough, and when she commits to a task, she
always digs in and gives it 110%. She’s been a fixture on the
stage with the drama department, and it’s hard to imagine
BOTC without her next year. We can’t wait to celebrate all
your success at Virginia Tech! Congratulations, Sally
Morrison!
Faculty Medallion- Zelgin JacksonThe smile, that is always the first thing people think of when they
think of Zelgin Jackson. That beautiful, broad smile that imparts joy,
friendship, mischief and toughness. Zelgin was born to be an athlete.
With his distinct swagger through the halls, usually in his trademark
white “birks” to his movement on the basketball court and baseball
field, he came to symbolize what it meant to be an athlete at GAHS!
However, his abilities are not limited to sports, they mask what is a
searing intellect. Zelgin has an intelligence that makes his potential
limitless, especially when combined with his gregarious, enthusiastic
personality! Averett University has not only gained a great baseball
player, but a great human who will do the university proud.
Congratulations!
Faculty Medallion- Logan Anderson
This recipient is a leader in every sense of the word. She has
an innate love of learning, and her work ethic is unmatched.
She is a force of nature on the soccer field and a role model
to younger players. As a STEP mentor, she provides
boundless support and compassion to underclassmen. She
carries herself with grace and integrity, and she spreads
happiness and laughter wherever she goes. She is going to
be a superstar at the University of Richmond.
Congratulations, Logan Anderson!
Faculty Medallion- Andrew CardounelMost days up by 4-5 to go to the gym, then 10 hours at
school, then work till 10 or 11. This is a typical day for
Andrew Cardounel. Yet he takes advanced classes,
always has a smile, is ready to lend a hand or just make
your day better. He has a work ethic that is ingrained in
him by his family and his own desire to succeed. He is
dedicated, kind, loyal, hardworking and his enthusiasm is
infectious. Congratulations! University of Richmond will
be a better place with you there!
Faculty Medallion- Aliza SchwarzThis young lady is an excellent student, phenomenal
athlete, and extraordinary person. Whether she is on the
court, track or in the classroom, she always strives for her
best and motivates those around her. To her peers she is a
strong leader who was continuously voted to be the BOTC
sports captain throughout her high school career. She is
always positive and handles every situation with kindness
and a caring heart. We wish her all the best as she heads
off to attend VA Tech in the fall. Congratulations Aliza
Schwarz!
Faculty Medallion- Zion MossBalancing her bag for track practice, a full backpack and a 64 oz water
bottle is no easy feat, but this young woman does it effortlessly as she
climbs the stairs headed to the 200s hall, flashing a relaxed, self-assured
smile at anyone she passes. She makes it look easy, but underneath her
confidence is an unshakable foundation of faith, hard work and
dedication to a variety of ventures that make her an incredible asset to
Glen Allen High School. Whether she’s supporting the football team,
entertaining the crowd at halftime or flying around the track Zion Moss
selflessly uses her time and talents as an integral member of many
organizations. In the classroom she gets down to business, but always
makes time to help those around her including the patient guidance of
her mentee as a mentor in the STEP program. To say that she has made
an impact on the school community is an understatement and we can’t
wait to see what she is going to do at Lynchburg University,
congratulations, Zion – we are so proud of you!
Faculty Medallion- Barrett Stuckey
This passionate young man has been found cheering on
his classmates at just about every Glen Allen athletic
event for the past four years; he truly bleeds black and
teal. He is a beast on the tennis court and a
hard-working, inquisitive student in the classroom. He is
also incredibly funny and has a heart of gold. Oh, and
have you seen his stellar dance moves?? Glen Allen’s loss
is Virginia Tech’s gain! Go crush it in Blacksburg, Barrett
Stuckey!
Faculty Medallion- Sasha AbielmonaA force to be reckoned with, this student is a
hard-working, enthusiastic, and positive. She puts her
heart into everything she does all while having a big smile
on her face. She is everyone’s biggest cheerleader,
exhibiting genuine happiness for others’ successes and was
such incredible leader and mentor to her cross country
teammates. She has the biggest heart and American
University is very lucky to have her. Congratulations,
Sasha Abielmona!
Faculty Medallion- Keondre Shelton“Whether it’s showing up with fervent efforts in the classroom, on the
baseball field, in the greater Henrico County community, or even as a
part of a heated debate about who is the best rapper: Meek Mill or
Yung Boi, this member of the GA community maintains a positive
attitude and sharp wit. It is with great pleasure to award you, Keondre
Shelton, a faculty medallion in exchange for the profound impact you
have had on Glen Allen High School. As a mentor to many younger
jaguars, informally on the ball field, or more formally as a part of
Jaguar Gents and the S.T.E.P. Program, you truly understand the value
and importance of giving back. Keondre, the Glen Allen Family wishes
you nothing but the best as you pursue your next journey, this time as a
collegiate student-athlete at Longwood University!”
Faculty Medallion- Mia VargheseThis young lady is the epitome of humble and
hardworking. Despite her attempts to fly under the radar,
she has been a constant positive presence at Glen Allen.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, this student
always found ways to push herself while lifting those
around her. The future is bright as she continues her
education at the University of Virginia. Congratulations
Mia Varghese!
Faculty Medallion- Sydney BohnSydney is a positive force at Glen Allen and in the community in
every way! With an unbeatable work ethic, she does not only
balance athletics, academics, community service, and work, but
she excels in all that she endeavors. Her accomplishments go
beyond all that she has achieved in the last four years. Her sweet
smile, positive attitude, and willingness to help each and every
day leave a lasting impact on everyone she comes in contact
with! Sydney Bohn is an inspiring leader who quietly leads by
example, and Glen Allen will not be the same without her! Good
luck at JMU, Sydney! We know your influence will be felt in
countless ways as you champion for justice!
Faculty Medallion- Gwendolyn SargentGwen Sargent, tall, graceful, truly stunning in her beauty.
However, this is not what sets Gwen apart or makes you notice
her. It is her kindness, her intelligence and her grit. She is
genuine, caring and always has time and a kind ear for people.
This gorgeous exterior and kindness is made all the more
impressive when you get to know her and how dedicated she is to
learning. Gwen was never the most boisterous in class, or the one
who always had to have the right answer, but she always knew
the right answer. She is dogged in her pursuit of excellence. This
has led her to her next step. Gwen, the College of William and
Mary is lucky to have such an amazing human as you!
Faculty Medallion- Faith MossThis young lady is the epitome of determination and resilience, her work
ethic is unparalled and her academic record is a reflection of this. Quickly
grasping the importance of being organized she created beautiful “To Do”
lists to help her stay on track and always set a high bar for herself as well
as her peers. This made her an obvious candidate to become a mentor in
the STEP program where she employed a tough love approach, but also
led by example so her mentee could see the habits and skills that were
necessary for academic success. She is fiercely loyal, incredibly kind and
undeniably talented, whether she was sprinting around a track, holding a
colored pencil or checking in on you at the end of the day Faith Moss has
surely made her mark on Glen Allen High School. Lynchburg University is
so lucky to be the next beneficiary of your talent and tenacity,
congratulations, Faith – we are so proud of you!
Faculty Medallion- Madi St. Cyr
This recipient is resilient, ambitious, and committed
to excellence, both within the classroom and as the
leader of our TSA. She is not afraid to take initiative
and build her own path to success. She also is so
kind to other students from all walks of life, and her
constant cheerful outlook brings joy to all her
friends and teachers. She’s going to do big things
next year at JMU! Congratulations, Madi St. Cyr!
Faculty Medallion- Sean BonnerSean Bonner is an outstanding young man!! During his time
at Glen Allen, he has been involved with the baseball program,
BACK, Chick- Fil-A Leader Academy, and has taken higher
level courses to help him succeed at the next level. He is a very
kind person and a role model for other students. If I had a
classroom with 30 Sean’s my life would be awesome,
HAHAHA!!! We are so proud of him and he has truly left his
mark on the Glen Allen Community. We wish him nothing but
the best as he goes to EMU to play baseball and hopefully the
Nationals will draft him one day! Well done, Sean, and thank
you for being an amazing student and human.
Faculty Medallion- Sydney FarrarShe is there, not always the first one you notice, but
when you do, she is always a fixture in your mind.
Sydney Farrar radiates quiet joy, intelligence and
depth. She is a plodder, working her way through any
issue with grit and determination. She is always there,
for prom committee, class, her friends, her mentees in
S.T.E.P. and anyone who needs her. George Mason will
be changed for the better with you there!
Congratulations Sydney!
Faculty Medallion- Bert Kirby“You cannot mention this student’s name in the building without it
being followed “I love Bert” by both peers and staff alike. Robert
“Bert” Kirby exudes a tenacious positivity that is felt by all. He
embodies the culture of kindness found at Glen Allen High School and
leads with a sweet but inspiring humility. He has been a loyal friend to
many over his high school career and continues to impress with his
artistic knowledge and talents. Entering into life after high school, Bert
is excited to continue participating in SPARC and exploring job
opportunities with his vocational counselor at Virginia Commonwealth
University. Bert’s presence at Glen Allen will be missed but we are all
excited for a future as bright as Bert Kirby himself.”
Faculty Medallion- Christian TeasleyCaring younger brother, confident older brother, responsible, respectful, loving son, these are characteristics that describe this amazing young man.
If you asked one of his basketball coaches to describe him you will hear that Christian Teasley may not have been the most vocal team captain, but instead he lead by example. He always made it a priority to make connections with younger teammates on and off the court, being a strong role model for all who know him.
Christian made it a priority to make connections not only with his friends and teammates, while at Glen Allen High School, but also his teachers. One teacher in particular could always count on him to just check in every day to say hello, even when he was no longer in her class. (And even though they do NOT agree on which ACC basketball team is the best!)
The halls of Glen Allen, and especially the basketball court, will miss the warm smile, quick to laugh nature, and caring heart of Christian Teasley as he leaves to attend ODU in the fall.
Congratulations! We are all so proud of all you have accomplished and we know you will continue to succeed in the future!
Faculty Medallion- Gabrielle JeffersonThis young lady is a dedicated leader who is committed to
helping others and bringing equality to all at Glen Allen. She is
President of Student Council and has spearheaded many efforts
to make Glen Allen a more culturally responsive school. She is a
bridge that is able to bring all different student groups together
to accomplish a common goal. She is an individual with many
talents and is committed to improving herself. She is an
accomplished member of the drama department who wrote a
One Act Play that placed 2nd at the State competition in 2019.
She has left her mark on the athletic fields as a tennis and track
athlete. Most importantly, within the classroom, she is the kind of
student who has a thirst for knowledge and a drive to understand
complex issues. She is a true intellectual who is worried about
learning and not about grades. The University of Virginia is
getting one heck of a jaguar in Gabby Jefferson!

Congratulations Starlett Price and Zelgin Jackson!
Starlett PriceStar has made a remarkable impact on Glen
Allen’s track program, participating four years
as a varsity athlete at Glen Allen High School.
During the 2020 Indoor track and 2019
outdoor track seasons, she earned the title of
state champion in the 500 and 800, and
contributed key points towards a state team
runner up title in Indoor. She holds school
records in the 100m, 300m, 400m, 500m, and
800m and as well as four relays. This young
lady was also named the indoor region runner
of the meet in 2020. She is dedicated and
determined no matter what she embarks upon
and makes those around her better.
Zelgin JacksonZelgin displays tireless work ethic both on the
baseball field and the basketball court. As a
co-captain of the Varsity Basketball team, his
display of character lead to him earning the
Dedication, Determination & Desire Award for the
2019-2020 season. Additionally, he earned the
“Together” Award for his leadership and positive
relationships with his teammates. He was also a
three year Varsity Baseball Player. This, coupled
with the dedication to his academics make him
really someone to admire. We have no doubt that
this young person will be successful in his future
endeavors as a student athlete.
Most Valuable JaguarEarlier this year, you, the students of the Senior Class, chose a classmate whom you believe to
exhibit what it means to be a Glen Allen Jaguar. We asked you, as well as the faculty, to vote on a
“Most Valuable Jaguar” award. This student is vital to our school’s success, and without him or
her, our school would be a completely different place. This student received a certificate and an
engraved watch donated by a Glen Allen supporter.
Most Valuable Jaguar
The Most Valuable Jaguar award goes to
someone who has contributed to the school in a
meaningful way. He works hard in class, is a
varsity member of the cross country and track
