Hello and welcome to the Great Lakes Circuit (GLC), a series of Netrunner events based around the upper Midwest. The GLC is a step towards having a series of regional events around the U.S., eventually leading to a an weekend –long finals. This series would be known as the ANR Pro Cir- cuit (ANRPC). The series started with the Southern Megacity Circuit (SMC), and we wanted to help showcase the Middle West in a similar fashion. The GLC will start in May, and run through September. Tournaments will be held in numerous states, with the finals to be held in September in Chicago. We are working with the fine organizers of the ChiLo events, coordinating with their tournament in September to have the finals that week- end. The winner of the finals will receive financial support to attend Worlds 2015. If we can get enough partner stores involved, we can also have more financial prize support for others, as well. The rules are akin to the SMC. Stores will run a local tournament charging $10-15 as an entry fee, feeding the first $75 in entry into the final prize support pool. The stores will use the additional en- tries to help provide prize support. The GLC will be providing additional prize support as wanted, such as alternate art IDs and other items. Qualifying tournaments will consist of five rounds of Swiss, with no cut. The top three finishers will qualify for the final tournament, with fourth place as an alternate. The ChiLo tournament scheduled for a September Saturday will double as a last-chance qualifier for the GLC finals. Any one who qualifies will then participate in a 5 round of Swiss tournament the day after ChiLo, with a cut to the Top 4. The winner will win a $500 travel voucher for Worlds 2015, and will be able to proudly represent the Middle West in November in Minnesota. If you have any interest in helping to organize a local GLC qualifier, please feel free to reach out to us.
