According to the DOE published literature, heat loss from anun-insulated, conditioned basement may represent up to 50%of a home’s total heat loss in a tightly sealed, well-insulatedhome.
And since concrete offers little resistance to heat flow/loss in awell insulated home, it is recommended by the DOE toinsulate the foundation of a home. Insulating the foundation ofa home can reduce the horizontal heat flow through the wallinto the earth and the vertical heat loss through the concretewall and into the air above the grade line. GlaslinerFoundation Liner will protect the insulation used on yourfoundation.
Glasliner® pays for itself quickly with increased energy efficiency and lower power costs.
*Savings from insulated foundations vary with fuel prices, heating equipment performance, and climate.
