• He touches the crops and as the audience are watching the film there is oprah playing in the background and then the sound of oprah goes quite and a sound of child’s laughter has been heard and the oprahgoes back playing. The reason of this is known later on the film.

• All of a sudden he looks up and the sunshine and the crops are all gone and it is winter in addition he lifts his head up which indicates that he was dreaming and what we saw in the beginning is not reality.

• Him looking at the robin and staring at it for a while shows that a robin represents freedom because it can fly and that is the reason why he smirked when the robin flew away. We also know later on the film that he is been in the army for six years and he wants to go back home which shows us that the robin scene had a point.

• The word Germania shows the audience where establishing scene is. And also the army coming shows that there is a war and by what the soldiers are wearing shows a war between Rome and Germania

This shot show the army and to conform that there is a war going on in Germania

This shot is called a Crane shot it has been used to show that there is a army not just a few people and to make the audience think what is going on.

• A long shot from the woods to some flags we still do not know what is there till there a medium shot towards the emperor Marcus which lets the audience know that even he is there to see the war.

Here we find out that the main character is a general a is a cruel person not such as the person we saw earlier on the man that was touching the crops now he is preparing for war.

• This is a Germania man which speaks to the Romens but he did not speak in English he spoke in the Germania language which shows that he is not intelligent is an ameture judging from his clothes and his beard.

• As we can see they are not much of an army and the do not have any stratagey just a bunch of people from different tribes coming to fight and which are heartless as we can see how he is holding that man’s head.

• He throws his head on the ground to indicates that they would not submit to the Roman empire and that they will fight them.

• One shot that shows two different armies the roman and tribes from Germania but what we can see is that us the audience we are on the roman side because the shot has been taken from the roman side and also it shows how the roman has their strategy and the Germania's have none.

• For the dog to get involved in this shot keeps the audience questioning why it is there but what does a dog represents? A dog represents loyalty and what makes sense later on the film and picks up mud and smells which shows he likes nature.
