Matthew 6:1-4• 1"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness'

before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

Matthew 6:1-4• 3But when you give to the needy, do not let

your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matt 6:4, 6, 18).

Is it good to talk about reward?• 17"'Well done, my good servant!' his master

I. Temporary Reward• 2"So when you give to the needy, do not

announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 【 Matt 6:2 】

II. Eternal Reward• 3But when you give to the needy, do not let

your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 【 Matt 6:3~4 】

III. Give to God will get Eternal Reward.

• A. Give yourselves to God and then to others.

• 1And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. 【 2Cor 8:1~5 】

III. Give to God will get Eternal Reward.

• B. Give yourselves entirely to God and not to others.

• 6While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, 7a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. 8When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked. 9"This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.“ 【 Matt 26:6~9 】

• 10Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 11The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. 12When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. 13I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her." 【 Matt 26:10~13 】

III. Give to God will get Eternal Reward.

• C. Give entirely to God, receive God’s blessings• 10Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse,

that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 【 Mal 3:10 】

Conclusion• 8For it is by grace you have been saved,

through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. 【 Eph 2:8~10 】
