Physical Evaluation: Disorders of the Face, Head, Neck and Risk Assessment; Radiographic Evaluation and Cone Beam Computed Tomography; Gum Lumps and Bumps

This course has the goals of presenting proper evaluation techniques of the dental patient, detailing common reasons for lawsuits in dentistry and how to prevent them, radiographic imaging techniques and interpretation, as well as periodontal lumps and bumps. Topical discussion of the medical history, drug history, proper assessment of the head and neck, vital signs, oral soft tissues and risk assessments tools are provided. Radiographic interpretation including panoramic imaging and cone beam computed tomography in the context of the responsibilities of the general dentist will be discussed. Emphasis is given to common mistakes by dental professionals and how to avoid them. This course will improve your assessment skills and your attention to detail by incorporating important aspects of data collection involving the head, neck, oral soft and hard tissues.
