CURRICULUM VITAEATTITUDES During the accademic career
I improved my way of thinking and visualizing projects, starting from concept deeply analyzed and reasoned, finding the best equilibrium between strong concept and good development of the project. Thanks to my pregress high school career I’m able to use “lateral thinking” that is very useful in developing every kind of design projects and with the universitary experience (such as the erasmus project in Madrid) I learned more about 3d cad modeling programs and other softwares that actually are tools to manage the design process (from the product to the communication) and to come up, at the end, with good results in term of presentation of design projects. My deep interest to art and photography has been really useful to manage in a very professional way the design process of projects made for universities, contests or work. Furthermore, my erasmus experience allows me to understand the importance in working with a multidisciplinary and multicultural team that is the base for the achivement of good results in a global survey of today’s world of work.

CENTRO INTERNAZIONALE DI RICERCA E D’ALTA FORMAZIONE NEL CASTELLO DI VIGEVANO
Interior renovation of the Vigevano’s Castello Sforzesco in a community space on the occasion of EXPO2105. Based on the structure of periodic and thematic workshops, SmartLab is a community college that develops research, methods, devices and tools to transform the city in a Smart City, in a synthesis between design and science. The aim of this project is to create an interaction between interdisciplinary roles, as architects, engineers, media artists, biologists, ecologists, robotics experts, industrial designers, urban agriculturists, physicists, inventors and planners, and the urban center to inquire, discuss, conduct experiments, and take actions that have a positive effect on the global community and cities.

Insight is a hotel designed for the ancient suburb of Castiglione Olona. The path through which the design of this hotel has been developed starts from the idea of the multiplication of the points of view, of the manifold faces of a suburb that, between antiquity and modernity, is one of the most important places of the region. The focal point of the project is the change of heights, layers and points of view that offers a complete vision of the town. A consequence of the movement of the points of view is that for which, the typical materials of the place such as paper, plastic and stone, become part of the rooms and the structure. As its the name suggests, Insight is a deep understanding, through the sight, of a territory rich in charm and a natural beauty. Nine rooms making part of three select macrocategories according to the their materic component (paper, stone and plastic) that represent the main and more meaningful materials of the place and that allow the user a trip, both real and metaphorical, in the fascinating suburb of Castiglione Olona.

Between the year 1584 and 1586, the duke Vespasiano Gonzaga, made build a gallery in his Mantova Palace, with the aim of hosting those antiques that he loved to show to his guests. Retake the meaning of this space made to host a personal collection of antiques, means interpreting all interior design proper elements, not according the aspects of the material or stylistic world, but according to that elements linked to emotions to make real an ancient atmosphere in a scenario coherent to the contemporary life. A project for a residential space here becomes like a micro-exbhition of a museum, domestic but refined, where antiques masterpieces are insert to dialogue with the space, through lines that cross it. Whether they are real lines, as the suspended bridge that reaches hidden spaces of the house with the core of the house itself; or ideal lines, as the double opening below the suspended bridge or the furnitures’ arrengment, they build an ideal bond with the exterior space, as it was possible to cross the space on both the axis.

Starting from the artistic work realized by the american group Graffiti Research lab, the aim the project was the realization of a pavilion that could show the Grl work, Led Throwies during “Festival”, an event for the city of Palermo. The GRL groupcreated an experience through some little lighting objects that invade the city, remaining attached in every surface, as long as metallic. The concept of throwing a little light contaminating the city with many points coloured inspired our choise to realize a pavilion that, instead of contain the art work, was used to recruit, to train and to form some real guerrilleros that, armed with led and creativeness might contaminate all of they have around.

Temporary habitable unit altrnative to the hotels, designed for case of great events, as the next Expo Milano 2015. The format foresees a limited use for few times or for only a night. 2nigthts is thought as product-system, able to englobe in itself a new experience of trip and new management systems that guarantees its operation. The demand to democratize the space with the purpose to make it available for all, has brought to design the project as an habitable-object, compressing the spaces at least. Inside the structure, there are a bed, a worktop and the sanitation, besides a storage for a baggage and a clothes hanger. The concepts of “machine a habiter” and of all-purpose object, theorized by Le Corbusier and Joe Colombo, are reinterpreted according to the demands and the standards of comfort of our society, confining the use of this small-great object to a temporary use. The facility in the transportation and assemblage, makes it suitable to be used in different contexts, as airports, railway stations, service area or in situations of emergency as an indipendent refuge.

All arid countries, despite not having the same landscape have the aridity as binding element. The project analyzes the issue of water scarcity, emphasizing not the problem, but developing a design solution that exploits the properties of algae to produce energy and substances for bio-products. Using the metaphor of the root, the algae grow in transparent tubes covering the surface of the pavilions. It is a production system in continuous cycle, which uses a minimum amount of water. A natural solution to the production of energy and food. The pavilions are arranged following the inclination given by the heliothermic axis, standardizing heat and light values to allow algae to grow in optimal conditions.

This project start from the request of creating a system for the collection of proposal, question or messages about the city of Madrid, during the Madrid Think Tank event. To achieve the goal we selected the iconographic box to be used as container accessible to everyone, representing a collective resource to improve the city. “Move on” is a democratic method to share ideas through which it is possible to express thought and opinions, an open open source real platform, meant as sharing system of knowledge and ideas. Each message is a little tile of a big and complex weave. The installation can be used by every kind of user: not just professional people of the Architect Association headquarter, place for which the installation has been designed, but also by citizens and tourists.

The YUU System consists in modular elements based on anodized alluminium extrusions that compose different structures, like wall unit or bookcase used in interior and exterior spaces or retails. The istallation, designed for Matteo Ragni Design Studio on the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2013 and placed at the entry of the Jannelli&Volpi’s showroom in Milan, represents an interpretation of a gable roof house and becomes a symbolic entry to the J&V building .
In the world of work, as in the university, the spaces don’t often grant great liberties to the environment of the kitchen, thought no more as a place used just to the preparation and the consumption of the meals, but as a space “ stolen” to a hypothetical working plan. In this project the kitchen is conceived as a space contemporary in which it’s possible to work, study, read, relaxing with some music, cook and eat! The opportunity to hide the technical and functional components of the kitchen is not in fact due to the simple wish to erase them for an aesthetical reason, but to the necessity to exploit all the spaces to work, to play, to write or to draw. The table pad allows in fact to enjoy of all the spaces covered by those that seem real mouse-pad, symbol of the actual technological reality of which we are protagonists. Colored, resistant and mobile our pads allow to live all around the “table-kitchen”, without however to bind the possibility to insert it in different locations.

The external bench Satellite belongs to a line for external furniture realized for M.A.D., firm that entirely makes working in marble. In this case, the project foresaw the exclu- sive use of marble, and particularly in Satellite the importance of the material is also given by the absence of glue or elements of joint, because the components are connected by joints for gravity. Static and monumental, in this project, the material assumes sinuous forms that, in the optics of the whole furniture, they recall the eternal movement of the planets.

Kentia is a project born in collaboration with Mediterranean Design Network, firm of recent formation that works in the field of the renewable energies. The request of the buyer was the realization of a coverage that made the object more pleasant and adaptable to different contexts. From this, the idea to join the small wind turbine with the urban furnishing through a coverage that aesthetically it ecalled natural shapes as the leaves of kentia, and that had to be cheap. Furthermore it had to show the typical characteristics of urban furnishing like the protection from the solar rays, the illumination and, in a variation, also benches all around.

Hole is a fitted wall that answers to the rules of modularity, constructive simplicity and facility of assemblage. The basic form is constituted by a perforated plywood panel to which it is possible to attach some shelves of various sizes, leaving to the user the a great flexibility in the composition. Every panel is equipped at the base with led that creates, through the holes, suggestive chromatic effects in the environment. The second function of the holes is make pass the wiring of the technological devices to allow their disappearance. The wiring is finally carried to the back base of the panel, equipped with a multiple socket.

At the base of this reinterpretation of the “Red Door”, for the contest proclaimed by the Elizabeth Arden, resides in the idea of beauty that keeps up with the times, related to fashion as well as cosmetics. The project, is based on the concept of “dressing” the Red Door more than to design it. It has been chosen to analyze the origins of the Parisian context in which Elizabeth Arden has lived from 1912 for her studies and jobs. During the Parisian Belle Epoque, the red color is a very present component in different contexts: from the fashion up to the advertising graphics. For these analogies between the fashion and the red color, it has been chosen to realize a glass door, naked and transparent, dressed in a red satin ribbon to create a game of transparencies that, for the soft and light nature of the ribbon, confers dynamism to the door, of which however it has been decided to maintain the rectangular shapes, distinguishing mark of the brand. As far as materials, the door is realized in a glass resin in which it is possible to drown different materials.

In the future of mobility traffic, pollution, expectations and misinformation will be minimized. A-Way has the goal of making information accessible about mobility services offered by the city, making users willing to the use of public servicesand sustainable means providing information in and out of the house and recording data that make the services more efficient and accessible. Another incentive is to offer more opportunities to better get to know the city from the point of view of culture, contributing to its growth from the point of view of society as a reward after an intelligent use of resources.

During their life the briccole, typical wooden poles used in the Venice lagoon, tend to lay on the reflecting pool. Their apparent fragility is the focus point in our project. It is a short table composed by part of a briccola and glass surface, hanging in a perfect balance between equilibrium and loss of stability. The briccola is here presented in all its natural features: core of the lagoon, element of support, sign of slow deterioration. This is no longer a design project, this is the narration of a story through an image, a briccola laying in the lagoon that talks about Venice, its material and traditions.

Founded as motorcycle company in 1930’s, Sertum relives in luxury objects for contemporary man: pens, travelling bags and accessories in whi-ch there is a strong attention to technology and innovative materials along the idea of prestige, heritage of the historical Moto Sertum. Therefore, the project of the logo’s redesign is based on the continuituy between past and present. A different point of view on the sign “crown” becomes the synthesis between the technological innovation and the idea of prestige.

The font has been realized for the Museo Salinas, a museum of ancient history sites in the heart of Palermo. It contains numerous inscriptions in ancient Greek and Latin. On the base of a relief of these inscriptions and two existing fonts, the Garamond and the Lithos, the font conjugates, formally, the memory of the ancient inscriptions with the legibility and the fluidity of a modern font.
