1986 - University Bachelor degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, achieved with praise

and dignity of publication, after having discussed the first Experimental Phonetics Dissertation at

the University of Calabria with the title: “A Model for a discreet Analysis of three Italo-Albanian

dialects: vocalism, electro-acoustic analysis et alia” (under the direction of Prof. John Trumper,

and with prof. Francesco Solano as adjunct relator).

1.3 Current Research Activities

Priority is the coclusion of the phonetic study of all the spoken Albanian dialects in Southern Italy, a

project already started with the university dissertation and continued with the PhD Dissertation.

A Project started in 2012 on the distribution of the paraliturgical chants of the Holy Week, known as

Kalimere, ethnomusicological and linguistic-textual analysis, in collaboration with the Ph.D. O.

Gerlach. Till now only Calabrian-Albanian varieties have been studied; soon the project will be

continued with other dialects of other Regions. The aim of the project is to publish some

monographic volumes with recorded materials attached (CD).

A linguistic monograph on the dialect of the Arbëresh community of San Basile, including a

diachronic dialect analysis with a collection of sample texts and a dictionary is ready to be published.

1.6 Other Activities

1987 RAI (Italian Radio Television, The Calabria Section). Expert for the preparation of a

documentary (by the Hungarian director Jorgy Karpati) included in the series "Minorities,

Wealth of Europe") on the linguistic Albanian minority in Calabria.

1988-1989 Research fund from the Italian League for the Defense of Albanian Minority (LIDMA)

won by presenting a project which research produced a study on the demographic movement in

the Municipality of San Basile from 1809 to 1989 plus a verification of the active/passive

competence of the arbërishtja by non-Albanian migrants in the aforementioned community and

the analysis and study of the linguistic behavior of pupils of obligatory education. The original

text, still unpublished, is deposited at the LIDMA in Mongrassano (CS).

1987-1988 For the School District n. 19 (Castrovillari - CS). Organized ant taught in two courses of

Albanian language and culture (for teens and adults) in the arbëreshe community of San Basile

as part of a project proposed by the EEC Commission for Education and Education concluded (5.

3. 1988) with a final round table on teaching Albanian at the obligatory schools.

1990 Participation at the Costituent Order group of the European Science Foundation Europtyp

Project, as an informant and compiler of the Albanian standard questionnaire; the data appeared

in the volume "Costituent order in the Languages of Europe" by Anna Sewierska, published by

Mouton de Gruyter in the ninth volume of the Language Typology series, 1996.

1992 IRRSAE Puglia. As a speaker/investigator at the course on "Intercultural education and inclusion

of Albanian pupils in compulsory education", Selva di Fasano, 1-2 June 1992.

1992 EMOL project of Fryske Akademy-Netherlands, for which I presented a report on the

preparation of the Italian-Albanian teachers of primary and secondary schools (1992) published

in 1995 in the Teacher's Training collection, vol. 2, pp. 443-62.
