GINI Karachi Activities – 2009• IEEE Student Branch revived @ MUET – The current

largest branch of Section – Jumped from Zero.• IEEE Fresher's Week 2009

Sep 2009 @ PNEC & NUCES Karachi• Inaugural-The 1st IEEE Computer Society in Pakistan

Oct 2009 @ NUCES Karachi• Inaugural-IEEE Communication Society

Oct 2009 @ NUCES Karachi • Initiated a new IEEE Student Branch – Sukkur IBA• Currently in Coordination with 3 more potential

branches outside Karachi.

GINI Effect..!!!

• Provided One platform for all three sections of Pakistan which was really missing uver the years.

• Integrated networking opportunity for Students.

• More Coordinated events resulting in more coordination and networking between local branches.

Problems faced !!!

• Large no. of students cannot afford the IEEE Student Membership costs.

• Less Awareness about IEEE• Problems faced in providing networking

opportunities• Greater motivation needed by the Branch

Action Plans for the year 2010

• To add more value to IEEE Student Membership at Section level.

• To increase the level of student activities and participation in IEEE events.

• Special effort to address the concerns of new members.

• Resolve issues of members (Spectrum delivery, branch related issues, etc)

• Arrange IEEE Membership Drives

Action Plans for the year 2010

• Establish a GINI-Pakistan Section website and help conduct regular GINI-Pakistan meetings online.

• Conduct IEEE awareness programs at different levels. (Institutions, Corporate, Government)

• Help in creation of new Student Branches.• Reaching and initiating off-shore potential

branches like Hyderabad, Nawabshah and Jamshoro.

Action Plans for the year 2010

• To visit dead branches and help stimulate and sustain existing Student Branches.

• Help promote graduating students to convert student memberships into Gold memberships.
