Connect America Fund (CAF)

• La Comisión Federal de Comunicaciones asignó a Claro $31.5 millones como parte del programa piloto de Broadband Adoption Lifeline Pilot Program

• Este Programa busca impulsar un servicio de banda ancha fija robusto entra toda la población.

• Se benefician 40 mil hogares que actualmente solo cuentan con conexión “dial-up”

• La implementación comenzó en el 2014 y al momento se han impactado 24,533 hogares en sobre 60 comunidades pertenecientes a 21 municipios.

• Rol de los datos para lograr este grant?

Infraestructura de fibra óptica para las escuelas del Departamento de Educación

• El Departamento de Educación seleccionó a Claro para la construcción de una infraestructura de Fibra Óptica para las escuelas del País

• La construcción comenzó en el verano del 2014 con una red de fibra óptica de última generación IP MPLS con grandes anchos de banda que alcanzan entre 30 a 150 megabits por segundo en las escuelas.

• Dicha infraestructura cumple con las exigencias federales en lo que refiere al tema de seguridad y acceso de los estudiantes al contenido educativo.

• Estas redes ponen a estas escuelas a la par de escuelas alrededor del mundo.

 Cable Submarino AMX-1

• En el 2014 se anunció la conexión de Puerto Rico al Cable Submarino AMX-1

• El AMX-1 ya está funcionando, con una capacidad de 180 gigabits por segundo

• En los próximos meses se empezarán a ver los beneficios que esta infraestructura va a significar y que requirió una inversión de $1B

Anchos de banda de sobre 100 megas al hogar

• En el 2014 comenzamos a ofrecer velocidades por encima de los 75 megas y hasta 150 megas a hogares

• Claro es el único operador capaz de ofrecer estas velocidades directamente a los hogares gracias una infraestructura de fibra óptica de última generación

• Estos hogares también pueden contar con acceso a Claro TV IPTV. • Disponible en 37 comunidades en 17 municipios.

 Crecimiento de tráfico de internet

• En Claro hemos visto duplicar el tráfico en las redes fijas y móviles durante los últimos dos años. (127%)

• El total de tráfico generado internet generado por usuarios de internet fijo y móvil al final del 2014 era de 75Gbps y en diciembre 2012 era 33 Gbps

Financiamiento de equipos

• Desde hace aproximadamente 6 años, Claro ofrece financiamiento de laptops buscando que todo tipo de persona pueda tener acceso a una computadora

• Con el financiamiento, los clientes pueden pagar tan poco como $8.99 por el equipo mensual (promedio $21.99)

• Las laptops son equipos de marcas reconocidas como HP, Sony, Dell, entre otros

• Claro ha desplegado una red Claro Wifi alrededor de Isla

• Los Claro Wifi están ubicados en restaurantes de comida rápida, tiendas de grandes cadenas, plazas públicas, bibliotecas, entre otros.
