During the month of May, we celebrate Mary the Mother of God as well as our own precious mothers who touch our hearts and fill our lives with love, each and every day. We strive to be like Mary in our faith and we are inspired to learn and serve one another through her example. It is a time for us to be grateful for the beautiful gifts of ‘love’ our mothers share with us in so many ways. We will find time to honor and place value on them by planning gentle surprises which delight their days. This month our children are busy creating special “Mothers’ Day Gifts” which our moms tuck away each year as a cherished memory and keepsake. As a school community, we thank and celebrate the wonderful mothers who contribute in so many ways to the success of our children and our school programs. Our mothers enrich our lives, support and validate our efforts and love us forever. For this we are truly grateful.
We would like to wish all mothers and their families the peace, love and joy this special month brings.

The 110th Annual Edmonton Kiwanis
Music Festival was held in April this year.
Every year, the festival creates over 2,500 opportunities for
music students, actors, musicians and music lovers to
perform in front of an audience and receive
professional adjudication.
As always, we are proud of our Monsignor Fee Otterson
grade 4/5 choir and our Junior High GLEE. They all
performed with excellence at McDougall United Church.
“The Lion King Jr.” Grade 4/5/6 Wed. May 29th, Thurs. May 30th Mon. June 3rd
The Grades 4, 5’s and 6’s will be performing the
musical The Lion King Jr.! Disney's The Lion King has
captivated the imagination of audiences around
the world. The African savannah will come to life
on the MFO stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unfor-
gettable cast of characters as they journey from
Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again, in this
inspiring, coming-of-age tale (from mtishows website)
On Wednesday May 1, 2019,
Albertans are invited to wear a hat to raise
awareness of the importance
of good mental health.
Monsignor Fee Otterson will encourage
students and teachers to build
understanding by wearing hats to school.
Students will participate in lessons on
understanding mental health and the
importance of removing the stigma
