    This year, Jessica is thinking outside the

    boxrather than writing a list of things that shwants for her birthday, Easter, Christmas and

    other family celebrations, she is sharing a list othings that Children in

    El Salvador need from YOU!

    Jessica in Canada

    Esmeralda in El SalvadorEsmeralda will be 12 just after Christmas and is going into grade 4 in

    January. (In El Salvador, Christmas time is also Summer Holidays

    and school begins in in the New Year.)

    She loves learning and playing soccer. Esmeralda has been

    coming to The Fathers Heart Foundation programs for 2 years

    and loves helping the younger children. She also helps to take care

    of her 5-year-old sister Fatima and her 1-year-old niece Andrea. Her

    mom and her 14-year-old sister work at a coffee plantation andmake $2/day to take care of their family and buy schoolbooks.

    Jessica is in grade 4 at James Cameron School for children

    with learning differences.

    She has a love for science, enjoys helping others and is

    compassionate. Like most 10 year old girls she loves to giggle

    with her friends and loves listening to all types of music.

    When Jessica heard about how The Fathers Heart

    Foundation is working to help children in the poor community

    of Quezaltepeque and how they are building an orphanage

    for some of the thousands of children who dont have family,

    she wanted to help!

    The Gift Of Family

    In El Salvador there are

    thousands of fatherless

    children who need a home

    and a family. At The FathersHeart Foundation Childrens

    Center, 84 of these children

    will be placed into

    permanent family groups

    with a daddy, mommy and

    aunts and uncles to lovethem and care for them.

    The Fathers Heart Foundation Childrens

    Center is working towards being self-

    sustainable through agriculture and small

    business ventures, but we need YOU to helpbuild the first 7 homes!

    Each house will be home for 12 orphans.

    The homes also need furnishing and each

    child needs clothing, toiletries, educational

    toys and more! You can fill a closet with

    everything that a child needs for a wholeyear in their new home!

    We also provide clothing, toys, etc. to the

    neighoubouring children in our community

    and will soon be offering parenting classesfor the neighbouring families!

    Build a Home for a Child

    Each home will cost around

    $120, 000 to build. That is $10,

    000 per child who will livethere. Give what you can!

    Suggested Donation: $500

    Closet for a Child

    Provide clothing, bedding,

    toiletries, shoes, toys and

    more for a child in the center

    or a neighbour in

    Quetzaltepeque.

    Suggested Donation: $ 5

    Furnish a Home

    Each home needs bunkbeds,

    tables, chairs, sofas, etc. YOU

    can help to furnish a home for

    12 children!

    Clean water drill a Well

    The Foundation needs about

    $18, 000 to dig a Well which

    will serve the children in the

    Center and the surrounding

    neighbours, help us to reach

    our goal!

    The Foundation is raising

    chickens as well as fish. You

    can help provide this great

    source of food by making a

    donation today!

    Vitamins

    Most of the Children in

    Quezaltepeque do not have

    access to a well-balanced diet

    or to vitamins. Help a child with

    vitamins for a year!

    Suggested Donation: $1

    Sustainable Agriculture

    Providing nutrition, as well as a

    practical income source Using

    traditional organic farming as

    well as Aquaponics (fish

    farming that grows organic

    crops using water instead of

    soil).

    Suggested Donation: $20

    Medical Clinic

    Help to build a Medical Clinic

    and purchase equipment to

    serve The Fathers Heart

    Foundation children and the

    surrounding community

    Suggested Donation: $50

    Dental Clinic

    We have been donated

    dental equipment and an x-

    ray machine, but need to build

    the multipurpose-Admin

    building where the clinics,

    classrooms, gymnasium and

    offices will be.

    Around 40 children meet every Saturday morning to sing and learn and do crafts together. With yourhelp, we can build a small pavilion so that we dont have to sit under the sun or cancel every time itrains. With your help, we can also offer a lunch program and purchase books and learning materialfor each child.

    Maricela lives with her grandmother and wasnt going to school until The Fathers Heart Foundation

    was able to send her to the nearby public school in 2009, but after a year in classes, she was still

    unable to spell her name and needed special attention. Other children, like Maricela need special

    help too and with YOUR help, we CAN help them!

    As soon as funding allows, The Fathers Heart Foundation will be expanding to tutor children, teachEnglish, music, sports and many more classes!
