Green Industry  Continuing Education Series: 

  “The more you know,  

the more you grow!  Green Industry Continuing Education Series (GICES) is a new offering of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. Its goal is to provide current, accurate and useful information to Nevada’s green industry in a way that respects green industry members’ fast‐paced schedules.  Informational sessions are one‐hour, provide valuable information, and Continuing Education Units and are offered only on topics relevant to YOU.  To suggest a topic, email Heidi Kratsch, Western Area Horticulture Specialist at [email protected].  Refreshments, course materials and International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Pesticide Applicator (PAT), Nursery Worker Training (NWT) and Landscape Industry Certified (LIC) continuing education units (CEUs) are provided by Green Industry Training registration fees.  The University of Nevada, Reno is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, creed, national origin, veteran status, physical or mental disability, and sexual orientation, in any program or activity it operates.  The University of Nevada, Reno employs only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States.

Green Industry Training  

Do you want to enhance your skills and become more competitive in your profession?  Green Industry Training (formerly Nursery Worker Training) begins in late winter with eight 3‐hour classes for new industry workers, for those seeking to work in the industry and for existing industry professionals desiring a skills tune‐up. It is the foundation for the GICES program. The course provides Nursery Worker Training certification for entry‐level workers in the landscaping and retail/nursery professions. Discounts are available to businesses paying for three or more employees.
