MODULE OVERVIEW
GIB Dispo-Cockpit: Optimization along the entire Supply Chain
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Forecast
Demand planning and forecasting tool GIB Dispo-Cockpit Forecast is fast and easy to operate. Thus unfolds a high degree of efficiency. Reliable forecast procedures facilitate rolling demand plan-ning and provide the possibility to focus on unpredictable material and product groups and to optimize your planning in a sustainable way. In addition, you gain the chance to realize your forecast proce-
dures swiftly for an increase in your ability to deliver and for inventory optimization.
Forecast procedures provided by GIB Dispo-Cockpit Forecast allow precise pre-dictions and a correspondingly reliable planning accuracy. Demand is calculated on the basis of historical sales and con-sumption data as well as on marketing campaigns. These processes are support-ed by algorithms according to Croston or Winters or by median method, just to mention a few, depending on the course of the examined time series.
Thanks to the embedded upload and download functionality it is possible to integrate data from other SAP systems into demand calculation. Furthermore, important information from non-SAP sys-tems can also be included into GIB Dispo-Cockpit Forecast. Due to these functions even smaller sales companies, for exam-ple, which do not (yet) have access to
SAP, are enabled to integrate their fore-cast demands into consolidation.
Via corresponding download procedures data can be collected cyclically by means of a planning calendar. The planning results are used to optimize inventory, service level and capacity planning.
Additionally, it is possible to make data available to the vendor via download as E-Mail, CSV, or GIB Dispo-Cockpit VMI*. In this way it is ensured that all enterprise areas are taken into account in planning. This increases planning accuracy and your competitive edge sustainably.
* VMI = Vendor Managed Inventory See page 20 - 22.
Improve planning, increase efficiency:GIB Dispo-Cockpit Forecast for demand planning and forecasting
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Forecast sup-ports the process of decentralized planning and offers consolidation functions within a central planning monitor. The application regulates and controls the transfer to the ERP system or to alternative subsystems. In addition, several different fea-tures in the field of forecasting and monitoring are provided and sup-ported by a clearly arranged Dash-board.

Intuitive planning interface in an easy to operate Excel-like "ALV grid" format.
Automatic forecast selection by monitoring different tracking signals under consideration of consumption constancy XYZ relieves the planner, especially in case of materials which are easy to forecast.
The standard planning hierarchy can take the shape of a sales or plant planning (sales planning: up to 3 aggregation levels of an S-structure, e.g. S001 - VKORG, VTWEG, customer/plant planning: material consumption from DCC or MVER). Alternatively, it can be designed customer-specifi-cally and is therefore highly variable in its charac-teristics.

GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling
Analyze potentials, simulate service level:GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling for inventory optimization
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling Dash board allows to control inventory and MRP from one central application. By determination of certain indicators such as capital turn-over and range of coverage you will gain – automated through application of rule sets – an optimum proposition for adjust-ing your MRP parameters. Consequence: optimization of your inventory and increase of service level at the same time. With ease you can realize a target-orient-ed navigation through your inventory key figures and obtain a crucial transparency.
Thanks to the simulation mode you can simulate the provided rule sets and their effects on stock and service level. This simulation may be calculated on the level of an individual material, of user-defined aggregation and of a whole plant as well. The simulation mode represents a kind of "learning ground" where the cooperative effects of different MRP types, lot-sizing procedures (Andler, Groff, etc.) and safe-ty values can be predicted accurately. This provides transparency and thus ensures acceptance of the application.
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling helps you to realize a sustainable inventory optimization with a min-imum expenditure of time. You are supported by industry-specific rule sets, based upon any number of dimensions, e.g. delivery classes, product life cycle such as LRODI, value (ABC), constancy (XYZ), and many more. These rule sets can be implemented into GIB Dispo-Cockpit as pre-configured industry content. The pre-configuration reduces product launch time and leads to a higher degree of effi-ciency.
CONTROLLING
8
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling scrutinizes your inven-tory and identifies hidden optimization potentials by means of industry-specific rule sets.
With GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling Dashboard you can control your inventory and your MRP from one central application.
The modern multifunctional interface within the GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling Dashboard can be used for the visualization of ABC/XYZ distributions.
Additionally, it is possible to set up individual presen-tations in the field of product life cycle. No matter if you are working with LRODI, ELAN or your own individual method. Thanks to the integrated formula generator there is a multitude of possibilities available to use your logic for the creation of additional decision trees.

Thanks to the simulation mode you can simulate available rule sets and their effects on inventory and service level.
Ranking provides the possibility to compare top materials from different stock types. The (important) key figures which are to be examined here can be selected individually.
In our RoC/RLT matrix we check replenishment lead times for materials against the requirements currently maintained in the system. We can also look back into the past and examine consumptions. In this example there are 665 materials in stock for more than 120 days, although their replenishment would not take longer than 10 days max. At this point potentials are already perceivable.
10
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Operations
The user navigates through his day-to-day business and can be sure to take smart and solid decisions in materials planning.
Within the period details displayed in GIB Dispo-Cockpit Operations all relevant pieces of information such as receipts and issues, requirements, planned orders, etc. can be presented in a timeline. This time-line can be drilled down to day, week or month and displayed both on the level of individual materials and for a material group as well.
In addition, conversions of both planned orders and purchase requisitions can be triggered directly from one single user interface. Inventory key figures, which may differ considerably according to company, can also be visualized in GIB Dispo-Cockpit Operations at best.
Cross-plant views at the level of single materials, BOM explosions or where-used lists can be called swiftly and easily.
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Operations provides solutions for topics such as cross- or inter-company business transactions. Ranges of coverage based on consump-tion, requirements or even customer speci-fications can be conveniently set up and controlled by traffic lights and exceptions.

GIB Dispo-Cockpit Buying
Order transactions require transparent processes as well as prudent and reliable material requirements planning. GIB Dispo-Cockpit Buying assists you and provides an optimized PO handling in SAP by means of which you can reduce your transportation costs.
What’s so special about GIB Dispo-Cockpit Buying is that purchase requisitions (PReqs) can be combined to purchase order bun-dles. This bundling of data allows to meet all requirements concerning minimum PO values, transport volume, and weight without exceeding the desired inventory level.
By means of real-time simulation you gain proposals of how to adjust your purchase order with regard to restrictions to vary-ing ranges of coverage. By consideration of different RoCs you can scrutinize PO quantities and align them with consump-tion, requirement, or stock as needed.
Already created purchase order bundles can later on be changed and processed further without the need of another MRP run. If single purchase order items are changed, the complete purchase order bundle automatically adjusts to the select-ed restrictions. You obtain a swift over-view and already know today what to order tomorrow.
Internal orders and transfers can also be realized easily and effectively by means of GIB Dispo-Cockpit Buying.
With GIB Dispo-Cockpit Buying you gain a professional and reliable solution for retail and industrial processes which assists you in saving time and transporta-tion costs.
With its comprehensive additional functions GIB Dispo-Cockpit Buying represents the smart solution if you want to optimize your purchase orders in SAP.
■ Optimized purchase order handling
■ Transparent processes ■ Smart and solid MRP ■ Reduced transportation and handling costs
■ Store purchase requisitions as purchase order bundles
■ Consideration of restrictions ■ Real-time simulation

Determine sequence, expand capacity: GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning for production planning
PLANNING
With GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning you obtain a tabular planning table for an optimum capacity planning and sequenc-ing of production, process, maintenance, service and planned orders. A clear over-view of networks and run schedule quan-tities in the field of repetitive manufactur-ing is ensured as well. By drag and drop non-dispatched orders can be dispatched in a simulation mode and checked for feasibility within a graphical display of the capacity situation before conversion. Necessary capacity adjustments, e.g. because of breakdowns, company vaca-tion or extra shifts, can be taken into account fast and easily and presented with their effects.
The integration of classic application functions is provided as well. Without any problems topics such as conversion, release and print of planned orders, scheduling, confirmation, exception mes-sage, missing parts situations, global availability, COGI processing, etc. can thus be detected, used and completed. Due to integration into SAP, data will always be up-to-date and online.
With GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning capacity loads for the area, the area group, the department and for the whole plant can be inspected in hierarchy structures at a glance.
Planning-relevant capacities nor-mally belong to different produc-tion and responsibility areas. For this purpose production areas are divided into planning and infor-mation areas in GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning. Classic scenarios, e.g. direct and indirect planning, are supported. This includes special forms such as planning in square meters, pieces, hectoliters or the like.
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning 17
GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning
The GIB Dispo-Cockpit Planning module seamlessly integrates into the GIB Dispo-Cockpit product family. In case of the implementation of GIB Dispo-Cockpit Controlling and GIB Dispo-Cockpit Operations the DC modules communicate with each other and can be called directly via button or hotspot, thanks to integrated access options. This demonstrates the com-
prehensive approach of providing the largest possib-le set of relevant information for realizing a fast and modern operation mode in day-to-day business. So the necessary transparency is given in order to make reliable decisions and to safeguard competitive edges.

GIB Dispo-Cockpit VMI
GIB Dispo-Cockpit VMI: Intelligent vendor management
VMI aims at consumption-based replenish-ment. This "pull control" ensures that sub-sequent deliveries will only be made if an actual consumption has occurred at the recipient. The vender takes over operative replenishment planning and delivery con-trol. Thereby, VMI provides the vendor with a transparency and flexibility, which cannot be achieved in case of classic
quantity- and date-based POs, and offers considerable optimization options in pro-duction and transport. At the same time the recipient significantly relieves his MRP and raises his liquidity.
Save costs by means of consignmentVMI is often coupled with a consignment process. In this case the vendor stores his goods at the customer site. The customer withdraws the material from this ware-house and thus carries out the purchase.
Thus, the purchase process is based on consumption and the recipient’s capital lockup is reduced. This form of stock-holding is referred to as consignment. The warehouse is described as consignment store.
The significant advantage of consignment is that the vendor bears the risk concerning the goods until withdrawal. Due to the delayed transfer of ownership of consign-ment goods a release of capital is real-ized. The inventory level indicated by the SAP system equals zero. Only buffer stocks are kept in production.
Vendor Managed Inventory describes the transition of opera-tional MRP management from the recipient to the vendor. The ven-dor takes on responsibility for the entire delivery process and inven-tory management.
VMI
20
GIB Dispo-Cockpit VMI
Relevant MRP information does not reach the vendors. The fixed setting of delivery dates and quantities makes it difficult for the vendor to realize a foresighted planning and often results in delivery delay and high transportation costs.
In GIB Dispo-Cockpit VMI the vendor finds all relevant MRP information from the customer system. Thus he gains the necessary room to optimize his transports and delivery quantities, his ability to deliver and his production as well as his delivery reliability.
