Foiling comes with a unique set of challenges, risks and danger
above and beyond those inherent to the sport of kiteboarding.
Know your limits, know your gear, know the conditions and use
extra caution to keep yourselves and others safe on the water.
Here are a few basic safety precautions we recommend taking.
1. The use of a helmet and wetsuit are highly recommended, especially when learning, to help protect yourself from impacts with your board and foil.
2. Check all foil screws and components before every session to ensure all connections are tight and components are in proper working order.
3. Use extreme caution when foiling near other people or objects. Give yourself and others a wide berth.
4. Do not foil in shallow water.
5. Pay extra attention to wind and water conditions; always air on the side of caution.
7. Be aware that your foil will carry speed and drift on its own faster and farther than a regular surfboard or twin tip.

ASSEMBLING YOUR GHOST WHISPER FOIL
1. Before assembly ensure that all components are clean
and completely free of sand and debris. Align the Mast and
the fuselage as pictured at left. Slide the fuselage on top
of the mast so that the two holes in each line up. Use the
two M6x20mm socket bolts and washers to attach the
fuselage to the mast.
NOTE: Check to ensure that the screws are tight
before every use.
2. Before assembly, ensure that the threaded holes in the
fuselage are clean. Place the front wing on the fuselage.
Be sure that the shape and holes of the fuselage coincide
with the shape and holes on the front wing. Insert the
M6x20mm screws in the first and third threaded hole and
the flat head screw M6x25mm in the center threaded
hole and tighten. NOTE: Always keep the threaded holes
clean and lubricated with water displacement ( eg. lithium
grease ) to avoid thread seize.
3. Before assembly, ensure that the threaded holes in the
fuselage are clean. Place the rear wing ( stabilizer ) on the
fuselage. The fuselage has the shape of the upper side
of the stabilizer: be sure that the holes and the shape
coincide. Insert the two M6x16mm screws and tighten.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When getting started with the Ghost
Whisper foil and a board with tracks we recommend mounting
the foil as far back on the board as possible until you get a feel
for your new setup. This means using the front hole pattern on
the pedestal and sliding the track as far back as possible.
1. To attach your fully assembled foil to your board, place your
board upside down and slide the four female pieces of your
mounting hardware into slots in the tracks of your board,
two on each side.
2. Carefully place your foil over the mounting track so the
front hole pattern in the pedestal line up with the mounting
hardware. Be extra cautious with your foil in this position;
components are fragile and can damage easily if it gets
knocked down or blown over.
3. Bolt your foil to your board, tightening each bolt bit by bit
until all four are equally tight.
ATTACH GHOST WHISPER TO FOIL BOARD
Slingshot foil boards include foil
mounting hardware. Remove the
M8 flat head screws and use the
M8 truss head screws that are
included with the foil.
TAIL OF BOARD NOSE OF BOARD
1. Coat all hardware with marine-grade grease before assembling your foil.
2. Rinse your foil after exposure to salt water
3. Ensure all hardware is screwed firmly in place before each use
4. With regular use, it’s a good idea to occasionally disassemble, inspect and clean your foil components to ensure proper condition and working order.
5. Be careful when handling your foil - it can tip over easily if placed down incorrectly. The safest way is to set your foil and board down together so it can’t tip or blow over in the wind.
6. Use a foil bag whenever possible
