Dear Friends, It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to Waterford Pantomime Society’s production Aladdin for 2009. In December 2007 our two co-founding members Padraig O’ Griofa and Jimmy Kelly retired and in January 2008 they passed the Society into the hands of it’s members. I would like to thank them both most sincerely for all their hard work, support and encour-agememt over the last 23 years. On behalf of the Society we would like to dedicate our production of Aladdin 2009 to them both again without whom we woild not be here this day. I have a long tradition with the Pantomime Society. The passion and love for it is endless. Taking over the Waterford Pantomime Society was a huge undertaking for me but with help of fantastic people this was all possible. On a personal note I would like to thank my husband Wayne Brown without whom I would not have been able to take it on. Tonights production of Aladdin would not be possible without our Production Team, Cast & Crew. I thank them for sharing their expertise and talents in making this production a sucess. I’d like to thank the Theatre Royal Waterford staff for all their help and assistance. A thank you to our nightly sponsers and all who donated spot prizes. Most importantly i would like to Thank Zandra Kelly, Michelle Quilty & Patrice Power who have given up many hours of their spare time over the last couple of months whilst rehearsing for show aswel in the help of organising and all that goes with Panto to put together this production. I thank them and really appreciate all they have done. Last but not least, I thank you our audience without whose continued support this show would not be possible. your support year after year is overwhelming. We thank you most sincerly from the bottom of our hearts. Now all is left for me to say is to Sit Back, Relax and join in on our fun and frolics of our production of Aladdin. Enjoy the show. Anne Corcoran BrownChairperson

Wayne is delighted to be here for his 15th Panto and is particularly proud that since the panto society was formed in the mid 80’s the music has been kept in the family – 1st by his uncle the legendary Ben Brown, and now by himself. Since being told he couldn’t sing at an early age, he naturally took the obvious role of teach-ing other people to sing. And after panto he is looking forward to his biggest job yet….. DAD!!

Juckey was too shy to write his own bio, so it’s wrote for him. This paragon of manhood is actually a multi award winning stage manager with awards from both AIMS and WIFLO to his credit, he acted in some of Waterford Pantomime Society’s earlier productions but the less said about that the better. He has graced the stage as “Danny” in “Grease” once again this year, may this be the start of his career on stage……!

David is delighted to be back for another year with the Panto Society. He is honoured to be playing the lead role of Aladdin this year, it is a new challange and he hopes he doesn’t embarrass his little daughter Shayla - hi NEW BOSS! Working under the direction of Bryan Flynn has been brilliant and David would like to wish all the cast and crew the best of luck

Freda is rejoining Waterford Pantomime Society after a 2 year absence and is delighted to be back treading the boards once more. She is no stranger to the stage having been trianed at Richie Hayes’ Stage School and De Braam’s School of Dance and Theatre Arts and is now a resident of Cork City and a student at UCC. She has really enjoyed working with such a great cast and production team and wishes everyone the best of luck in the show

Back again for his 7th panto in a row, he began his entertainment career back in the mid 80’s with the comedy mime act “The Silent Mikes” and then followed in his fathers foot-steps on to the boards of the Theatre Royal for the Tops of the Town. This is his 4th times working under Bryan Flynn and is looking forward to this years show. Starting to get wor-ried about wearing a dress again, hoping the show will go well in the Theatre Royal

sBrenda is one of the original members of the Waterford Pantomime Society but she wants yee to know that she was very young when she started threading the boards. It’s embar-rassing this year, it’s like a family reunion for Brenda every one of her family except Mark is on the stage. Even Paul jumped onto the bandwagon this year- he must have heard how great the craic is. This years character seems sinister but there is a softer side to her as you will see in Act 2.

“This is my 10th year performing in the pantomime and i have enjoyed every one of them. Christmas would not be the same for me and my family if I wasn’t involved in some way. The fun I have back stage and sometimes on stage is great. I have made some great friends along the way. So here’s to another 10 years of panto!

tttwwwff

He is in the Panto for the 1st time in many years. He must have had a bit of pull to get it! He has been involved in a few bits n’ pieces in the meantime and is delighted now to be back on the boards of the newly revamped Theatre Royal for this year’s production. Hope you enjoy the show and if you don’t……………… TOO BAD!!

HHHHHbbyyyy

Anne has been involved with the Waterford Pantomime Society since she was 8 years old. The Panto has a great family tradition for Anne’s family as her dad Denny introduced them all to the fun of Panto whilst producing for the Panto for 15 years. Anne is playing the part of the Fairy/ Narrator in this year’s panto, but her new role as Mammy is her favourite so far!!.
