CALL TO ACTION…..BACK TO BASICS

• Try to always ask questions that do not require a yes or no answer. Instead of saying, “Do you have any openings?” Ask, “What positions do you generally hire for?” (Even if you know the answer. Get them talking. Get them connected.)

• Have a short list of what you want from the call.

• Always have a call to action. Set up an appointment to meet, email follow-up, or a time in the future to check back for example.

• Ask for a referral. Do they know anyone in the field who is looking for qualified applicants.

• Schedule continued follow-up by sending something on a regular basis to stay in touch (newsletter, article, email, invite, etc…).

• Send a thank you note after a graduate is hired.
