Getting Started with Decals.

Read through this short guide and find out how easy it is to create beautiful decals.

Choose template for Decal Sticker

When launch Decals, a window for selecting a template appears as shown in the figure above.Select the desired model here and click "Choose" in the lower right corner.

The User Interface

The Decals user interface consists of two parts.

The "1" part is the canvas area used to make the decal sticker and the "2" part is the Inspector area where the various tools needed to make the decal sticker are placed.

The user can drag the desired image onto the canvas area and use the various functions provided in the Inspector section to use various options for sticker production.

and displays three guidelines

1. Device Guide Line: Device Guide Line is a guideline that shows the size of the device model selected by the user.

2. Print Guide Line: Print Guide Line is a guideline that shows the size of the print media on which the device model you select will be printed by default in red color.

3. Apple Logo Guide: Apple Logo Guide shows the location of the Apple logo on the device of your choice. The user can make a decal sticker of the desired shape based on this.

These three options can be optionally shown or hidden in the Inspector > Layers section.

You can set the color of the guidelines displayed in Preferences > Canvas.

The inspector consists of "Layers", "Tools" and "ClipArt". To see the inspector, select "Show Inspector" from the View menu or press "Command + I". To access “Layers/Tools/Clipart” with shortcut, Press “Command + 1/2/3”.

Layers provide you with the ability to manage the images you use to make stickers in layers and some useful features.The Tools section provides location and sizing of added images, frame.ClipArt is a collection of more than 1,000 high-quality clipart and is very useful for making decal stickers.

Add Images

There are three ways to add images in Decals.

- Drag and Drop images from Finder or Photos Application- Click the “+” button on the top of the window to import images- Drag and Drop image from Clipart

Images formats supported by Decals

- GIF- JPEG, JPEG 2000- PNG- TIF- PDF- PSD- ICNS- ICO- BMP- SVG

Create Decal Sticker

Now, Let’s make a sticker. The process of creating a sticker in Decals is very simple and offers many powerful features.

To create a sticker first, add an image to the canvas to create sticker.

The added image can be moved to the desired position using the mouse or the arrow on the keyboard.

TIP: If you use the keyboard, move it by holding down the "Shift" button and move it by 10 pixels by default. This part can be defined in preferences.

You can also right-click anywhere and arrange it right where you want.

Zoom In and Out Canvas

To zoom In and Out canvas, Decals provides two simple ways.Select Zoom In/Out from the View menu or use the slider at the bottom left of the window.

Delete Images in Canvas

If you want to delete the added image, Press “Delete” key on the keyboard or Right-Click and then select “Delete”.

Change Device Background Color

By default, the background color of the various devices displayed as transparent. If you want to change the background color of the device, select a color in the "Background" section at the bottom right.

Use Layer

When you add an image to Decals, you manage it using the layer structure. The layer structure helps users manage multiple images sequentially and offers several useful options.

You can arrange the order of the images displayed on the screen by changing the order using drag and drop in the layer part as shown below.

If you want to prevent edit layer, Click “Lock” button and to hide layer, Click “Hide” button.

Fill color to images

Decals provides the ability to specify colors for added images. If you want to add a specific color to the added image, try the following:

- Select image- Press “Command + 2” or Select “Tools” in inspector- Turn on “Fill and select a color

When you select a color, the image will fill the selected color as shown below.

Add frame effect to images

Decals provides 100 frames for image effects. Image frame is an interesting feature that can apply frame effect to user added image, you can select various images and select desired frame to enjoy various effects.

Apple logo and image location

When you add an image, by default all images are considered to be located at the bottom of the Apple logo.If you want to display the added image inside or on the Apple logo, you can do the following:

- Select image- Select image position in Layers

If you select "Postion image inside logo", the selected image will be drawn inside the Apple logo and "Position image above logo" will be drawn on the Apple logo. This set image can be previewed or printed.

Decals provides a print option for the Apple logo.This option allows you to set the background color and border color of the Apple logo when you print your decal sticker. (Note: If you use the "Position image inside logo" option, the print options do not apply.)

Preview

Preview is a function that allows you to check the decal sticker you have created before printing.The way to preview is very simple. Click the "Preview" button at the top of the window.

Click the "Preview" button to display the screen shown below. If you want to print, click the "Print" button.

Print

Printing is very simple.If you select Print from the File menu, you can immediately print the decal sticker on the printer you currently have.

If you want to save as PDF without printing, select "Export as PDF ..." and save it as a PDF file immediately.

TIP) To print decal stickers, it is recommended that you use transparent or clear sticker paper sheets that can be printed from your printer.

Preferences General

- Optimize Document File Size: Check this option to optimize the document file size when saving a document.

- Reduce image size when importing images: When importing an image, if the image size is larger than 2048 pixels, it is the option to resize to 2048 pixels. Use this option to help reduce the document file size.

- Device Background Color: This option specifies the background color of the various devices that appear on the canvas.

- Print Border Line Color: This option specifies the color of the cut line when printing the sticker.

Canvas

- Move Objects: You can use the keyboard arrows to set the number of pixels that move when you move an image on the canvas.

- Canvas Background Color: Canvas background color can be specified.- Device Guide: You can specify the color for the display of the device area

displayed on the canvas and whether or not to display it..- Print Guide: You can specify the color for displaying the print area and

whether or not to display it.- Apple Logo Guide: You can specify the color and appearance of the Apple

logo displayed on the canvas.- Alignment Guides: You can specify the color and appearance of alignment

guidelines when moving images on the canvas.
