Quick Steps

Go to: www.facebook.com (make sure you are “logged out”)

Click “Create a page for a celebrity, brand or business”

Setting Up Your Business Page

In drop down menu choose: Click “local” Restaurant or Hotel (we suggest creating 2

separate Facebook pages if you have 2 establishments)

Fill out “name of place” Leave “make page publicly visible” blank (do

not click this) “Create page”

Create A Facebook Account

Choose “I do not have a Facebook account” Email: we suggest creating a gmail account. Password: create this and store in a safe place Fill out D.O.B. of administrator Fill out Spam/security check

Creating Content On Your Page

Link Your Twitter Account to your FB page (if you don’t have one, I will be assisting in getting this set up for your company in the next few weeks)

Download Hotel or restaurant logo or picture of facility “Edit page” fill out relevant information “Create an Ad” (See further instructions) Promote with a fan box: fill in “Write something”: quick overview of establishment Tabs: add more: (“Links”, “Events”)

Content:Facebook Page Should Contain:

More Pages Home Page: Logo, pictures, contact info, web site, Hotels promotional sites Wall Page: post messages with fans, Add comments with hotel linking sites, post

current promotions in the hotels restaurants. Info Page: web sites, blog, twitter and all contact info. Overview of Restaurant (if

apply) Photos Page:.

Create at least one photo album for your hotel. For a small hotel, one album should be sufficient. Highlight hotel interior, pool, spa, meeting rooms, wedding facilities etc. Include “Fan” (guest) photos.

Box Page: Discussions, Links (Hotels booking sites). Notes Page: Reviews from guests, directions to the hotel, and miscellaneous info. Events Page Promote area location and sites. Grand opening, wine tasting at

restaurants, etc. Promote your destination’s activities. Discussions Page: Discussions are a good way to get participation and engage

travelers and potential guests. You can create a discussion about your destination of interest to travelers. Draw attention to special events and happenings in the area. Often times, these discussion get picked up on the internet.

Send email to current customers (or list) via email, newsletter, and existing social media (Twitter, Blog)

Post and display everywhere, “Become a Fan on Facebook”

Create incentives for satisfied customers to “recruit” new friends to your page (see promotions section)

Promotional Idea #1:Building Fans

Everyone who becomes a fan of the Hotel receives a discount for their next stay or will receive a free appetizer (or discount) in the Hotel or restaurant.

PS Get their email. Tell them you will email them the gift certificate. You now have a new email and contact for your hotel database.

Encourage your customers, employees to becomes fans of your hotel or restaurant. Create contests or offer discounts to reward them for referring more fans to your page.
