• I have no very little experience, what could I say?
• It is hard to find improvement points for evaluators
• It is hard to organize what to say
• Etc.
If you have any other concerns please write it in the chat.
The MAIN Concern
I don`t know what to say
Why have a General Evaluator?
Why have a General Evaluator?
Please Write Down 3 possiblereasons
Why have a General Evaluator?
• Provide Constructive Feedback to all role takers• Provide Constructive Feedback for all other aspects of
the meeting• To help all members create a better meeting the next
time• To help encourage all members create a mutually
supportive and learning environment (i.e. fulfill the club`s mission)
• To help the club increase member satisfaction and meeting value
HOW do we do a General Evaluation?
You need a criteria!
HOW do we find a good criteria?
First, Two Things
What does an ideal meeting look like?
•How does it start?•What do the role takers say?•How are the table topics?•How are the speeches?•How are the evaluations?•How is the audience response?•How do the members interact?•Etc.
That is one source of criteria
Second, Look at“About Your Club”
section
That is another source of criteria
Let`s Make Our Criteria
Example: The Timer
Clear and concise explanation of the timing rules
Includes reasons why the timing rule are important
Signal is easy to seeGently remind the TM if he or she forgetsAdd some fun, excitement or humor to the
meeting (optional)
Example: The TimerWhat you might say…
Two things (at most):1 Good point1 Improvement point
“TM Suzuki did a great job explaining the timing rules. She clearly stated the different times and showed the cards in her explanation.”
“On the other hand, I wished She also mention why we have timing rules. In my opinion, time is a very valuable resource. If we go over time we “steal” other people`s valuable time. So, we should treat everyone's time with respect.”
Write the Criteria
• Meeting Time• Timer • Toastmaster of the Morning/Day/Evening• Ah Counter and or Grammarian• Vote Counter• Table Topics Master• Evaluators• Etc.
Evaluating Evaluators is HARD. What should I do?
What makes a good Evaluation?
What makes a good Evaluation?
Write down as many things as you can.
Still not sure?
Have a Simple Checklist
Have simple phrase for each• One for the good job• One for needs improvement
Go to the Next Level
Check Levels
Level 1: Work was doneLevel 2: Added understanding
Level 3: Inspire all members to go to an even higher level than before
What about time?
Approximately
Half to EvaluationsHalf to the Rest
• Use your criteria and checklist
• Prioritize your points• Summarize your three most
important things
Finally…
• Why is General Evaluation important?
• What is your Ideal Meeting
• And…
• Share what you learned with fellow club members
