Since 2012 the Rip Curl School of Surf has worked closely with the Soul Surf Project Bali a non-profit organization established in 2007 by Rodney Westerlaken. The Soul Surf Project and Rip Curl School of Surf have to date given over 1,000 orphans, street kids and physical disability kids the opportunity to ride a wave, learn to surfing, work experience in the surf industry and even adopted several kids into our Rip Curl School of Surf family. The Rip Curl School of Surf goes to great effort to ensure that all our instructor and assistants are amongst the highest qualified in the world. We annually fly in certification instructors or send our crew abroad to complete levels in all of our different course disciplines; making sure we are teaching the latest and most efficent programs. We insist our front line crew and drivers also partake in our activities to give them an understand of our programs, so they are able to answer questions and more importantly share in your experience.

We offer free transport for guest in the coolest vans in town; totally air-conditioned, roof racked up to carry boards, kitted out with DVD players featuring the latest Rip Curl surf movies to psych you up on your way to the school. All students are equipped with a Rip Curl rash shirts, board shorts, booties for reef surfing, wetsuits (on request), surf helmet, impact vest for kite, wake and windsurfing sessions, ensuring your comfort and safety. We are super concision about protecting our students from the sun and supply high quality Beach Hut sunscreen for your body, all natural Surf Yogis zinc cream for your face before and during all sessions, and insist our students replenish their fluids with drinking water at every opportunity.

Our team of Photographers and Videographers will be recording every perfect wave you pull into and some of your wipe outs. You can pre -order your surf movie to be shot over 3 days and edited over night on to a Rip Curl flash drive and up loaded to youtube, as well as have all your photos taken during every session recorded on to Rip Curl Flash drive for you at the end of your lessons.

Rip Curl School of Surf – Sanur is located on the beach front of the Prama Sanur Beach Hotel; visitors can park with in the hotel and access the school via the lobby or a 2 minute walk past the tennis courts to find the Rip Curl School of Surf, Sanur. Rip Curl School of Surf - Legian is at the bottom of Jalan Arjuna (Double Six Rd.) then turn left, travel 200m and enter between Lanai and Blue Ocean Café. Rip Curl School of Surf – Jimbaran is on the beach front of the InterContinental Resort, jimbaran; visitors can park with in the InterContinental Resort and access the beach via the lobby or walk along the beach front from the south end Jimbaran Beach Seafood restaurants.

Courses are scheduled daily at 8am, 10am, 1pm and 3pm. Different disciplines and levels may require different tides, wave size and wind conditions. Let our Reservation staff know your schedule and we will make every effort to schedule your course accordingly. Be prepared for early mornings as often this time often offers the best conditions.

We use quality equiptment for all activities and all kites, boards, and sails are selected to provide maximum safety and enjoyment to students at all levels. All students are provided with Rip Curl board shorts, rash shirt, wetsuits, life jackets and Gath helmets for lessons together with drinking water, sunscreen, zinc and towels. All school activities are covered by a $1,000,000 insurance policy.

In a set of 5 x 2 hrs course periode of theory, practice, practical, our ‘Beach Surfer’ program allows a total novice to master the key surfing skills quickly and easily. Learn the essentials in simple, easy-to-follow steps and master the art of riding waves, paddling, forehand and back hand turns. Courses also include essential ocean knowledge, surfing secrets and safety. You will be surfing the beach break with ease and confidence.

Our 5 x 2 hrs course periode of theory, practice, practical, ‘Power Surfer’ program is the ultimate life changer. If your passion is to ride short boards, duck dive set waves and move to the tropics, then this program is for you. Picking up from the ‘Reef Surfer’ program you will perfect your ‘cutback’, power of your ‘bottom turn’, finishing with a ‘snap’ or a ‘floater’. The ‘Power Surfer’ program is derived from our Rip Curl Team Rider Training Manual with direct inserts given to each student, along with performance reviews and imagery coaching.

Build on the basics and master the techniques of reef wave riding. In a set of 5 x 2 hrs course periode of theory, practice, practical, Level 2 courses are designed to prepare students for more challenging waves. The “Reef Surfer’ program teaches the surfer the skills for generating board speed from the wave, transitional turns (cutbacks), paddling on behind the peak of the wave, compressions and extensions (Top & Bottom turns). Study books are utilized along with imagery coaching to ensure results.

The most advanced of all of the IKO programs and the final step of full IKO certification. Once you’ve mastered Levels 1 and 2, learn how to generate speed and move up and down wind. You’ll also learn how to change direction and grab some air with basic jumps and aerial manoeuvres.

If you are looking for fast track intensive learning, our instructor will take you through the IKO certification one-on-one, work on your manoeuvres, jumps, race board and wave board riding or simple familiarizations with latest equipment. Children under 12 yrs old and/or second student receive a 50% discount. Maximum 2 students per class.

Taking a new look at an old favorite, windsurfing lessons at the Rip Curl School of Surf emphasize balance and technique over strength which allows students to learn fast and easily. Your instructor will be following in a sea kayak or shadowing you on a windsurf board to maximize your results from the lesson.

Slip into a harness and take your windsurfing to the next level. We teach the speed skills essential for learners to move up into jibes and deepwater starts. Our advanced level and the final step of the learning process. Learn how to make S turns, rail turns and downwind speed turns used in racing. Once you master the basics, we move up to a pro board and use the foot straps to demonstrate speed work and direction changes under power with the harness.

Nusa Penida diving offers sharks, sea turtles, molas, pristine hard coral reefs, deepwater wire corals five meters long. It is a diving paradise! There are two beautiful diving spots in Candi Dasa, Gili Tepekong and Gili Mimpang. Cod, butterfly fish, angelfish and wrasse are most dominant.
