The National Coal Mining Museum for England is located in a beautiful, rural location close to the M1 with free onsite car parking for over 200 cars.

The venue is idea for conferences, away days, exhibitions and facilitated team building. Private dinners, parties and wedding receptions can be accommodated, incorporating the Museum galleries and beautiful outdoor spaces.

Caphouse Suite can be opened up as one large suite to seat up to 200 delegates, theatre style or divided into 3 smaller spaces or 2 units combined, depending upon your numbers and requirements. Our room plans and capacities are available on the Museum’s website, www.ncm.org.uk/hire.

THE MUSEUM AND UNDERGROUND TOURSDelegates are able to experience the thrill of donning a miner’s helmet and plunging 140 meters below the earth’s surface for a guided tour of the mine. If your schedule permits, we can include a private underground tour for your delegates. The standard tour takes approx 1 hour

schedule. Up to 19 delegates can be accommodated in each tour, due to the lift size but we can offer additional tours at 10-15 minute intervals (subject to availability and prior booking).

The Old Malt Shovel pub will be on your right. At the end of Broadway turn right onto the A642 to Horbury and

through Horbury Bridge and Middlestown. The Museum is then located on your right.

From the SouthLeave the M1 at junction 38 (A637) and stay on this road through West Bretton and Flockton. At the Blacksmith’s Arms roundabout, take the third exit towards Horbury (A642). The Museum is about 2 miles from here on the left-hand side.

From the EastLeave the M62 at junction 29, joining the M1 southbound to London. Leave the M1 at junction 40 (A638) towards

(Broadway). The Malt Shovel pub will be on your right. At the end of Broadway turn right onto the A642 to Horbury

through Horbury Bridge and Middlestown. The Museum is on the right.

From the WestLeave the M62 at junction 24 and follow the signs for
