Gestione dei Sistemi Logistici e Produttivi
Further main readings• Chase, R.B., Aquilano, N.J., Jacobs, F.R. (1998) “Production and operations
Management”, McGraw‐Hill, 8th Edition (Chapters: 8, 14‐16) Very useful textbook, easy to understand; it covers almost all the subjects
• Slack, N., Chambers, S., Harland, C., Harrison, A., Johnston, R. (1998) “Operations management”, Pitman, 2nd Edition (Chapters: 10‐15) The most popular textbook to learn OM&SCM within MBA programs; concepts
and approaches are emphasized; weak on the side of quantitative methods• Stadtler, H., Kilger, C. (2002) “Supply chain management and advanced planning”,
Springer, 2nd Edition (Chapters: 7‐8, 10) Very specific and useful to deepen some issues of planning. It interestingly
highlights the links between planning and IT tools• Krajewski, L.J., Ritzman, L.P. (1999) “Operations management”, Addison‐Wesley, 5th
Edition (Chapters: 13‐16).• Russell, R.S., Taylor, B.W. (1998) “Operations management”, Prentice Hall
(Chapters: 11‐13, 15) Both are useful textbooks; they cover almost all the subjects; model and
mathematical‐related concepts are emphasized

Further additional readings• Silver, E.A., Pyke, D.F., Peterson, R. (1998) “Inventory management and production
planning and scheduling”, Wiley, 3rd Edition (Chapters: 5, 7, 13, 15‐16).• Nahmias, S. (1997) “Production and operations analysis”, Irwin, 3rd Edition
(Chapters: 3‐6, 12). Both are focused on inventory planning, scheduling etc., they follow a strong
operational research oriented approach (lot of formulas, derivatives, probabilities etc.)
• Dobler, D.W., Burt, D.N. (1996) “Purchasing and supply management”, McGraw‐Hill, 6th Edition (Chapters: 22‐23). It focuses on SCM in terms of customer‐supplier relationship. It provides a brief
and synthetic overview of the major subjects. Not useful for deepening.• Salvendy, G. (1992) “Handbook of industrial engineering”, Wiley, 2nd Edition
(Chapters: 76‐79). It is an handbook, useful to get an idea of many subjects in a very short time
span

• L’esame riguarda, salvo diversa indicazione, l’intero programma svolto, compresi casi, esercizi, testimonianze ecc.
13
14
Gestione dei Sistemi Logistici e Produttivi
Exam rules – miscellaneous• Una prova orale è sempre comunque
