This short course will be heldin conjunction with the SME2013 Arizona Conference.
December 6-8, 2013
JW Marriott Starr Pass ResortTucson, Arizona
This three-day short course is designed for resource geologists, mine geologists, geoscientists, andengineers who can benefit fromenhancing their skills when usingand/or constructing resource models for evaluation of mineraldeposits.
You will:
l Learn basic geostatistical theoryl Learn practical tools to facilitate
decision-making during model construction
l Focus on resource estimation
The goal of the short course is toprovide hands-on geostatistical exercises, and participants willprovide their own software. Software support for Minesightduring the short course will beprovided by a representative of Mintec.
Topics include:
l Exploratory data analysis including capping analysis and compositing
l Valogram calculation and modelling
l Selection of estimation methodologies, search ellipses, data restrictions and other associated parameters
l Model validation and sensitivity analysis
l Special topics for mining geostatistics
Geostatistics and Resource Estimation
