Officer Responsibilities: I have

· Organized and presided over district executive meetings (June 2016, November 2016, March 2017, June 2017, November 2017, March 2018)

· Presided over Dalton District meetings (November 2016, March 2017, November 2017, March 2018)

· Attended state summer workshop for state officers and advisory council members (June 2016)

· Attended state executive meetings (April 2017, September 2017, April 2018)

· Attended state workshop for chairmen and Chairmen-elect (January 2018)

· Sent Newsletters every two months to update chapters and district officers of upcoming events and deadlines. Each newsletter featured chapter officers, new and recognized sisters, and the chapters themselves. (2016--June/July; August/September; October/November; December/January; 2017--February/March; April/May; June/July; August/September; October/November; December/January; 2018--February/March; April/May)

· Prepared and updated address sheets of district officers and chapter presidents provided copies of current forms, lists of the books for Fun Day, to distribute at the district meetings. Other forms and documents I sent electronically to district officers and chapter presidents

· Collected chapter officers address lists for referral as needed

· Sent reminders to chapter presidents as deadline dates approached

· Met with Gamma Beta Executive Board as their chapter mentor (August 2016)

· Met with Alpha Nu Executive Board to discuss the responsibilities/expectations of hosting the fall 2016 district meeting (August 2016)

· Met with Alpha Lambda Executive Board to discuss the responsibilities/expectations of hosting the spring 2017 district meeting (January 2017)

· Met with Angela Brock of Alpha Xi to discuss the responsibilities/expectations of hosting the fall 2017 district meeting (August 2017)

· Met with Kappa Executive Board to discuss the responsibilities/expectations of hosting the spring 2018 district meeting (January 2018)

· Visited with the following chapters to get to know them better and to encourage chapter officers to attend the officer training at the fall district meeting:

March 2018-Alpha Nu, Beta Upsilon. Discussed the importance of having a chapter president with Alpha Nu

· Participated in new sister initiation at Gamma Beta and Silver Sister recognition at Beta Upsilon (March 2017). Participated in new sister initiation at Beta Upsilon (March 2018)

· Attended Fall 2016 District meetings: Columbus, Athens, Tri-District (Atlanta, Marietta and Decatur)

· Attended Spring 2017 District meetings: Augusta, Golden Isles, Atlanta, Decatur, Athens

· Attended Fall 2017 District meeting: Athens

· Attended Spring 2018 District meetings: Albany, Marietta, Atlanta, Athens

· Was on State Scholarship Committee and adjudicated the applications sent to me by Elizabeth Robinson

· Acted as Chairman of the District Guidelines Committee with Gina Donahue and Jan McNeill. Together we made corrections and updates. This was voted on and accepted at the fall district general meeting November 2016. I sent it to Rhon Sheffield.

· Have contacted state officers and chairmen to check on Dalton chapters and whether or not they have met deadlines for various reports. I have been liaison between chapter presidents and the state officer/chairman until Dalton was at or near 100% turn-in status. (Dalton has been at or near 100% on required forms, etc.)

· Have read and filed chapter newsletters and minutes of chapter meetings

· Attended my chapter meetings (2016) August, September, October, November, December, (2017) January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November, (2018) January, March, April

· Attended Alpha Delta chapter executive meetings (July 2016, February 2017, September 2016, July 2017). Attended budget committee meetings (August 2016, August 2017)

· My current chapter office is Immediate Past President and I am chairman of the scholarship, historian, and ways and means committees. I have served on the budget committee this biennium. I presented a scholarship award to a senior at LFO in the name of Alpha Delta Kappa at their Senior Night (May 2017)

· Have served Dalton District as treasurer (2 biennia) and Chairman-elect

Conferences and Conventions: I

· Attended the Gulf Regional Conference June 2016

· Attended GA Fun Day

· Attended the International Convention July 2017; was a chapter delegate

· Am attending the Georgia state convention April 2018

Other Activities:

· I sing in my church choir, play in the church orchestra and play in the Chattanooga Area Flute Society. I volunteer in the church card ministry.

· I am a member of GREA, CREA (Catoosa), and WREA(Walker). I am scholarship chairman for CREA.

· I am currently teaching math in an Adult Basic Education program at Walker State Prison, where I am currently serving 2 students.

Closing Statement: It has been my high privilege to serve as Chairman of Dalton District. I have been humbled that the sisters of Dalton District have placed their confidence in me. My goals have included visiting all Dalton chapters and as many Georgia districts as has been possible. I have been blessed in meeting so many Dalton sisters as well as Georgia sisters. I am pleased to see Dalton chapters doing so many worthwhile projects in the name of altruism and to see new sisters being initiated. Visiting other districts has allowed to see how the other districts hold their meetings. I plan to share what I have seen in future district executive meetings. I also have challenged the chapters of Dalton District to meet deadlines for the requirements for Pearls and Cornucopia recognition.
