They moved into a land called Goshen and quickly grew comfortable in this lush and fertile land. God did not intend for them to settle there for life but before they knew it more than 400 years had passed and they were now slaves. When we get comfortable we often end up complacent and before you know it we have become disobedient to the Lord and begin to bear the consequences of our complacency. Many find themselves in bondage to some kind of sin or painful experience in their life. How do we get out of those places of bondage and move into the promised land of victory that God wants us to dwell in? That will be our focus. Make a point to be in Bible study and worship each week. It is exciting to grow together in the Lord! . June has been a whirlwind of ministry at Georgetown Baptist Church. We welcomed nearly 200 kids to VBS June 14-18. Our build- ings were transformed into Egyptian regalia by dozens of volunteers and hundreds of man hours. The theme was “Joseph: Prison to Palace.” It was a phenomenal tool for teaching kids that God is always at work in our lives and He is always in control regardless of what our circumstances might seem to indicate. The following week 22 of our children went to kid’s camp at Austin College. Worship, recrea- tion, Bible studies and much more filled their days. What a thrill to witness several of these students ab- sorbing the magnificent truths of God’s word. On Sunday, two of our 6 th grade girls made public profes- sions of their faith in Christ. That’s what it’s all about! On Sunday, June 27 we sent 17 teen-agers and three adults to serve at Mission Arlington. Our Youth Pastor, Josh Whitlock, is leading this team of servants. Chris Lovejoy (Worship Pastor) and I will be with them several days as we work together serving Jesus Christ as we serve others. She is an in- spiration and blessing to many through her selfless dedicated devotion to the Lord and those who are hurting. We are fast approaching our Mission trip to Chiapas, Mexico. Because of the over- whelming response to go, we will send our team of 30 people over a two week period of time. Half will be there July 17-23. The other half will be there July 24-30. Pray for these short-term missionaries as they share the love of Christ with the precious people of Chiapas. “Coming out of Bond- age” is the theme of our sermon focus for the next two months. I continue to look back at that week and can still feel God's presence. So many thanks to all of the dedicated

volunteers. it took many people to make this event happen-but God made it His and that was our prayer through the whole process. Please talk to your chil-

dren daily about His word and chal-lenge them to be disciples. VBS and summer camp are great stepping stones as they mature in knowing His plan in our lives and theirs.

My family and I would like to thank Georgetown Baptist Church and all of it’s members for the prayers dur-ing Robert’s illness and passing. Also thanks to the ladies for the wonderful food provided for us after the funeral. My older brother is from Los Angeles and told me he had forgotten how wonderful and comfort-ing our Lord’s true love could be shown by the wonderful Christians in North Texas! Again thank you to all who prayed and helped with the food. -Alice Stratton &Family
