“I Love to Read Month” February is “I Love to Read” Month at George Fitton School. We have many exciting events occurring
during the month. We will be involving students and families in the following literacy activities;
“I Love to Read” Bingo
Students are encouraged to share their love of reading with their families while participating in a literacy “BINGO”.
A bingo sheet will be provided (one per student, see next page). Students and their families will work together to complete
as many of the fun activities as possible. See the attached bingo page for more information. At the end of the month, a
draw will be held. For every four literacy activities completed, the student’s name will be entered into a draw to win a gift
certificate towards a family pizza feast.
Book Lover’s Contest
We will be having a design contest where students show their imagination and artistry in one of the following activities.
Students may choose one of the following options:
- Design a book cover of your favourite story or novel.
- Design an “I Love To Read” poster to be displayed in our school.
-Draw your favourite character from any book.
There will be prizes for winners in each category.
