Genre

• To decide what genre our short documentary is to be. We looked at articles about documentary modes that provided us with a varied style of documentary modes. After discussing how we want our documentary to be we discussed ideas for it, this was by mix and matching Documentary modes from Group A & Group B, to create the most appropriate documentary possible for our target audience.

IDEA 1Expository• Have a voiceover, depending on our audience, we need to understand at what pitch

of voice they require for it to be appealing to them. That comes in the Audience Profiling.

• Arguments and Facts are inputted in Voiceovers. • Use of Interviews to create a well balanced argument and make our documentary

more valid to the sophisticated. • Voiceover addresses the audience directly to make it seem more personal to them=

Relatable. Reflexive • Voiceover can question the type of food we eat. Asking rhetorical questions,

emphasises the points made, thus engaging our audience more. Participatory • Use of Archive Material E.g. News Footage/Newspapers etc. helps to back up the

evidence found out and can help t o compare facts.

Overall

• We liked the idea of Number 1, as it meant that we were only going to be involved in the background process of making the documentary. This could mean that we were in control of the documentary production and we were happy that the modes we selected were suitable for us.
