The ideology behind the comedy genre is to entertain people and make them smile and laugh. Most comedies try to have a feel good factor about them to try and make the watcher go in his/her comfort zone and relax.

The way comedies are normally represented is by having different types of characters which clash with each other. For example in the film Tropic Thunder, it about a group of actors who get thrown into a island and all have different ideas about what they should do so there is conflict which is show in a funny way.

A lot of comedies are often made based a certain audience. So for example Monster vs Aliens is obviously aimed at children as it is a cartoon and everyone is smiling. Where as The 40 year old virgin is aimed at an older audience as which the word virgin its about sex.

Most of the time teen comedies have teenaged characters and are normally based at a school. Also I often has them getting into some sort of trouble or pridicament.

These are all shots from teen comedy. By looking at theses example shot I can see there is always people in focus. Also just by looking at the shot we can we make assumptions about the characters and what they are doing.
