Keynote Speaker Peggy Smedley Peggy Smedley is an internationally-known speaker and highly-respected personality in the media world educating businesses and consumers on the latest technological advances shaping everyday lives. She is a recognized pioneer in the M2M and IoT space and an outspoken advocate and supporter of security and connected devices. Peggy is the quick-witted host of The Peggy Smedley Show, the editorial director of Connected World magazine and its sister publication, Constructech, as well as the president of Specialty Publishing Co. Peggy has earned the reputation as an innovative and skilled publisher throughout her 25-year career. She is a renowned author and an award-winning editor having earned numerous honors for editorial excellence. She authored Mending Manufacturing: How America Can Manufacture its Survival, a book detailing all aspects of the American manufacturing crisis. She has also been a guest on television business and news programs and has been a voice on many national commercially syndicated radio shows. In 1997, Peggy formed Specialty Publishing Co. with the goal of enlightening executives in key industries to the importance of understanding technology for the betterment of their companies. Surpassing publishing norms, Peggy has guided her company in successfully launching multi-media company that leverages print, Web, social media, radio, blogging and more. Prior to launching her own company, Smedley served as Group Publisher and Editorial Director of numerous publishing firms based in Chicago, Ill. A native of Chicago, Peggy has her degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Thursday General Session Panel #1 Jeff Nicol (Moderator) A resident of Hood River, Oregon since 2006, Jeff is highly engaged with the Columbia Gorge business and tech communities. With academic degrees in business administration and economics, his background includes rich professional and entrepreneurial experiences including: Working a dozen years at Intel, starting his own Oregon-based data protection consultancy, serving as CFO at a Bingen-based tech manufacturer, serving as VP of operations for a Stevenson-based software startup, co-founder of Gorge-based tool manufacturing company, as the regional director of the Small Business Development Center, and most recently, he’s been spending a lot of time pouring hard cider at Slopeswell – a local hard cidery he opened in March. Jeff has served on and in appointed board, member, committee or councilor roles with various entities including: The Better Business Bureau Online, Hood River Planning Commission, Hood River City Council, Mid-Columbia Economic Development District, Columbia River Gorge Technology Alliance, 4-Tell Inc., the Gorge Chapter of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and the State of Oregon Regional Solutions Advisory Committee for the North Central Region. When he’s not pouring hard cider, you’ll find Jeff busy advising clients on privacy and data protection. Steve Noel Steve Noel is the FirstNet Regional Coordinator for Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. In this position he is involved with a number of different communities working on improvements for national and regional public safety broadband communications. FirstNet's vision is to provide emergency responders with the first high-speed wireless nationwide public safety broadband network www.FirstNet.Gov. Steve has held management and leadership positions in the telecommunications field for the past 30 years. He has broad–based experience in project management, implementation, and operations of wireless and data network systems. Steve has worked extensively with public/private partnerships and outreach efforts associated with FirstNet and public safety communications interoperability. Steve has an undergraduate degree from Norwich University and graduate degree in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon. Bill Plummer Bill Plummer is a 20 year telecom industry veteran who joined Huawei’s North American organization as Vice President, External Affairs in June of 2010. Bill’s responsibilities include leading Huawei’s interaction with the Federal government, national media and other third party stakeholders. Prior to joining Huawei, Bill spent 12 years in senior management positions with Nokia. His last position with Nokia in 2009 was as Vice President, Sales and Go to Market, Americas where he led portfolio management and integration of Nokia devices and services. Prior to that, Bill served as Vice President, Nokia North America Multimedia Business Group, spearheading several market-making initiatives and building brand and sales for Nokia Nseries products and

related services. Earlier in his Nokia career, Bill served as Vice President, External Affairs, overseeing aggregate external affairs functions, Corporate Communications and Government Relations for Nokia North America, as well as Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Nokia Americas. Prior to joining Nokia, Bill served from 1990 through 1997 as a United States Foreign Service Officer, with positions in the Office of the Under Secretary for Business Affairs, the Office of Multilateral Trade, and the U.S. diplomatic mission to the Republic of Ecuador. Before joining the State Department, Bill worked as a financial services executive. Bill’s past and present board or Principal corporate representative memberships include the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA), the Finnish- American Chamber of Commerce, the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), the European American Business Council, and the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Communications and Information Policy. Bill is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. John Sherry John Sherry is director of Business Innovation Research at Intel Labs. John joined Intel in 1997 as the company’s first anthropologist, serving as a founding member of what was then called Intel’s People and Practices Research Lab. Subsequently he has served in a variety of positions, including director of User Experience Design in Intel’s Digital Health Group, before taking on his current role. His research has always involved understanding ordinary people in their everyday settings, including the complex social, economic and technical systems in which we are all embedded. The purpose of this research is to help Intel better imagine and invent new uses and experiences of computing. He holds a PhD in Anthropology (1995, University of Arizona) and a BS in Computer Science. He lives in Portland with his wife and sons. Jenny Moede As the CEO of Citizen Inc., a creative design and technology agency, Jenny leads overall operational strategy, business development, culture and client satisfaction. She joined Citizen in April 2015 after spending just under a year as interim director for Oregon Story Board, an Oregon Inc-funded non-profit dedicated to supporting the digital storytelling ecosystem. Prior to her role at OSB she spent 20 years at Waggener Edstrom Communications, where she rose through the ranks to become President of WE’s North America region, which included a wide range of specialty practices and regional offices. Jenny is also a fellow at the International Institute for Analytics, where she counsels enterprise analytics teams on data-driven storytelling. Thursday 1:45 – 3:15 PM Sessions Chris Burns (Moderator) For the past 15 years Chris has worked as an Account Manager in Telecomm. Most of that time is split between AT&T Global/Signature Teams and Charter Business Strategic Accounts. He has worked with both company’s largest financial services and healthcare clients. Chris serves on the Oregon Connections Planning Committee, the Telehealth Alliance of Oregon Board, and is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HiMSS).

Andrew Dick Andrew Dick is the Connected, Automated, and Electric Vehicle Advisor for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Andrew facilitates ODOT’s Connected and Automated Vehicle Steering Team, which tracks advanced vehicle technologies that are approaching deployment, and determines how the agency can respond in a way that meets its safety, reliability, efficiency, and mobility goals. Adrian Pearmine Adrian Pearmine is the National Director for Smart Cities and Connected Vehicles for DKS Associates in the Portland, OR office. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation from University of Washington. For over 20 years, he has specialized in the planning, design and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and telecommunications networks. For the last several years, he has been combining his background in transportation technology with his telecommunications experience to help deliver smarter solutions to the problems that our cities face. Adrian was the author of the chapter on Connected and Autonomous Vehicles in the upcoming book, Internet of Things and Data Analytics Handbook, which will be published in the first quarter of 2017. He helped coordinate the Portland region’s response to the Smart Cities Challenge, a $50M+ USDOT lead initiative aimed at building Smarter Cities transportation solutions. He is a member of the Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) Deployment Coalition and is leading DKS’s initiatives in the connected and autonomous vehicles industry. Mark Peters Mark Peters was recently named the Interim Director of Research Compliance for Oregon State University. He is responsible for ensuring the compliance of all research projects from animal safety to classified, including export controls. Mark was hired to establish the export and international compliance programs for OSU last year. Previously he established an institution wide export compliance program at Oregon Health and Science University. Mark Peters is also founder and Principal Consultant for Global Trade Services. GTS serves the global expansion efforts of small and medium sized businesses. GTS has been successful in assisting small business implement export compliance programs providing contracts under U.S. military export control regimes. Mark Peters started his trade career with the U.S. Department of Commerce and was the Director of the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Missoula, MT. He assisted business clients in developing international markets. In his tenure he assisted hundreds of companies achieve exports success. He has in-depth knowledge of U.S. Government trade agencies and is well-versed in international standards and worldwide business practices. He is an expert on U.S. export controls. Mark also served as a Congressional Fellow to the United States Senate in 2001 advising Senators on U.S. trade policy. As an International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Mark has held assignments in Missoula, Montana, Portland, Oregon; San Diego, California; Osaka, Japan; and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Adam Haas (Moderator) Adam Haas is CEO of Converge Communications, a consulting practice founded in 1994 by Adam and his business partner, Marsha Spellman. For the past 12 years, he and Marsha have focused their full-time effort on helping clients develop their telecommunications infrastructure, including broadband networks, public safety radio networks, wireless and telephone services for cities and rural communities, Indian tribes, school districts, governments, and businesses. With 38 years of experience in the telephony, data and cable TV, Adam is a seasoned, results oriented executive consultant with a broad range of telecommunications industry management experience, both domestically and internationally. He has run large urban market cable TV systems, developed hybrid fiber/coax cable TV/Telephony operations in the United Kingdom and has launched high speed Internet services in the Portland, Oregon market. In recent years, much of his consulting practice has focused on land mobile radio projects, from strategic plans, to successful Homeland Security grant writing, to procurement and specification development for Public Safety radio systems, to project oversight and implementation. Adam has consulted to 4 of the 9 Tribal Nations in Oregon and was recently appointed by Governor Brown to the State Interoperable Executive Council, representing Oregon Tribes. He was also instrumental in launching Warm Springs Telecom (WST), the tribally owned telecom where he served as their interim general manager during the start-up phase of the company. WST is the 6th telecom start-up for Adam and he has the gray hair to prove it. In his spare time, he likes to be in the outdoors, climbing mountains with the Mazamas, sailing, hiking and running. He is proud to be a team member of the Reservation Runners, a longstanding Hood to Coast running team of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Bob Fletcher Bob Fletcher is the Wireless Solutions Architect for State of Oregon Agencies at Verizon Wireless. He has over 26 years of experience in the wireless industry. He works directly with State of Oregon Agencies and TriMet to create and implement wireless solutions that positively affect ROI/ROR for business and process operations. His specialties include State Government, Telecommunications, IoT, Machine to Machine, Disaster Recovery, Wireless Infrastructure Development and Platforms, and Cloud/Security. Nick Newton Nick Newton is the Director of Product for Mobile Engagement at Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company. Nick is responsible for managing the development and roadmap of the Meridian software platform which enables customers to build or improve location aware mobile apps as well as Aruba’s suite of BLE beacons. Nick also manages a team who works closely with customers to deploy these products. In a past life, Nick was a corporate attorney doing M&A, venture capital and intellectual property work for high tech startups, large public companies and many other businesses in between. He realized however that making products was much more fun! Aaron Williams Aaron Williams is a member of AT&T’s Enterprise Mobility Management & Collaboration Practice Team which focuses on mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM), mobile enterprise management (MEM) & Workspace Management

(WsM). He works with AT&T customers to create and execute on mobility strategies, assist customers with the influx of consumer devices, and develop effective methods to increase security and decrease risk. Prior to joining AT&T, Aaron managed the product development and Go-to-Market for Nokia Unified Communications (UC) and Fixed-Mobile-Convergence (FMC) clients for Eseries devices. Aaron also authored Nokia Security Administration and Power-of-2 courseware and certification programs. Prior to Nokia Aaron was with 3Com’s Carrier Service Organization, Crossbeam Systems & Level3 Communications. He holds a BA in Chemistry from the University of San Diego. Thursday 3:30 – 5:00 PM Sessions Debbie Kerr (Moderator) Debbie Kerr has been the FIRST Senior Mentor in Oregon working with the Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP) for four years. She works to promote all FIRST programs through community outreach and support FIRST Robotics teams from across the state of Oregon. Jeff Blackman Jeff Blackman is a robotics and electric car teacher at Hood River Valley High School. In 2013 he was recognized by the Gorge Technology Alliance (GTA) as the Technology Organization of the Year. Blackman was honored “for his inspiration and work in starting a robotics and engineering revolution that has affected schools throughout the Gorge.” Sally Wells Sally Wells taught at Henkle Middle School in White Salmon for 22 years. She recently retired from teaching after five years at Trout Lake. She is also the robotics coach for FIRST Robotics Competition team #3711, the Mustangs. Krystal Stone (Moderator) Krystal Stone brings her background in utilities, operations management, and marketing to Hunter Communications in partnership and formerly with CoastCom by Wave. She has found success in the development and implementation of billing and provisioning processes to streamline and advance the CLEC VoIP product offering to local governments and businesses. She works closely with ILEC’s on ordering unbundled loops, centrex, resold services, and manages the full ILEC port out process. Krystal attended Oregon Institute of Technology with a major in Higher Education and a minor in Business. With a focus on tax class management and regulatory reporting, Krystal strives for continued education and compliance in the industry. She believes firmly in Oregon CLEC’s banding together to share knowledge and ideas to further the industry. “Together we are stronger.” This driving belief led her to serve on the planning committee board for the Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference which focuses on these core fundamentals. She contributes to the overall planning of the conference and manages the social media and photography efforts.

Vanessa McLaughlin Ms. McLaughlin is a native Oregonian residing from Eugene. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at the University of Oregon and her Master of Public Health Administration Degree in a joint program with Oregon Health Sciences University and Portland State University. For more than three decades, her compassion, empathy, and a drive to make a difference have empowered her ability to successfully tackle health care business development initiatives through sustainable business modeling and strategic planning, market assessment, new program and product development, and start-up funding acquisition. In remote health care delivery, Ms. McLaughlin has honed her skills developing telemedicine networks, programs and services for large regional and national health organizations, starting at the Veterans Administration Health Care System in the Pacific North West. Her service on numerous boards and chair positions at the local, state and national level, including the national chair, Industry Council and Board member for the American Telemedicine Association continues to enhance her professional development. Ms. McLaughlin shares her knowledge as an adjunct Professor, Portland State University, School of Business. She and her husband, Dr. Christopher Thoming have three sons and reside in Vancouver Washington. Ms. McLaughlin is the Founder and CEO of Welcome Home Health a care transition service supporting patients and caregivers through post inpatient discharge, chronic disease management and wrap around services for seniors aging in place. Chris McMurtry In his role as the Solutions Architect for Sharper Shape, Inc., Chris McMurtry is responsible for designing solutions based around the company’s class-leading unmanned aerial hardware and software tools. Prior to joining Sharper Shape, Chris was a founder of Aerial Inspections Resources, a drone services company that successfully employed unmanned aerial technology for industrial and utility inspections. Chris originally became interested in drones through his work in film and television production. From his unmanned aerial media production experience, Chris soon realized that this technology could do far more than just produce compelling entertainment content. Since 2013, putting drone technology to work for industrial purposes has been Chris’ primary focus. Andrew Nichols Andrew Nichols is responsible for troubleshooting and designing mobile solutions for enterprise customers throughout the PNW. He has a background in information security, application development and sales. Andrew graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Informatics and joined Samsung in 2014 after a brief career with Boeing. Andrew is an avid backpacker and gamer.

Friday General Session Panel #2 Jim Teece Jim Teece is President and CEO of Project A, a technology services company in Ashland, Oregon. Jim Teece oversees and manages all facets of development, support, and administrative efforts. He also handles new technology integration for the company, and oversees its delivery to clients. Jim co-founded Project A in 1990 with his wife and Project A CFO Dena Matthews. Jim's enthusiasm about technology is contagious and keeps Project A at the forefront of recent advances in all areas of modern computing. Jim's hobbies include spending time on his farm with chickens, goats, horses, and assorted other animals. Friday General Session Panel #3 Sue Diciple (Moderator) Sue Diciple, principal at Sue Diciple Group, designs and facilitates collaborative planning, organization development and issue resolution processes. In her 30-year practice she has served over 200 clients in the private, public and non-profit sectors. She recently co-facilitated and co-drafted Broadband Strategic Plans for seven Oregon communities including small towns, a tribal entity, and a metropolitan area. She has held several telecommunications-related public service positions in the State of Oregon including her 18-year service as a Commissioner representing the City of Portland on the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, where she plays a key role in strategic initiatives development for the Commission, the two community media centers and county-wide I-Net resource within its jurisdiction. Sue served for six years as Organization & Board Development chair on the national board of The Alliance for Community Media. Anne Carloss Anne Carloss is the Director of Special Education/Student Services for the Hood River County School District. Ms. Carloss is a native of Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated from Loyola University with a BS in special education. She then graduated from Aurora University with an MA in educational administration. She also holds an ED.S degree in educational leadership from Lewis & Clark College. Ms. Carloss has served as a board member for the Boys & Girls Club of Hillsboro and Opportunity Connections of Hood River and The Dalles, and currently serves on the board of Hood River's Children's Advocacy Center and on the Oregon Broadband Advisory Council. Ms. Carloss has many years of experience as a teacher and administrator in public schools in Illinois and Oregon. Lonny Macy Lonny Macy is the Community and Economic Development Planner for the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs (CTWS) and has served in that position for more than 5 years. Macy received his Master’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon in 2001. He has worked in other planning positions for the CTWS as the Natural Resources Policy and Planning Manager, and the Land Services Planner. His current position involves work in a variety of functional planning areas. He coordinates local planning groups for telecommunications, transportation, transit, facilities and infrastructure. Recently he has helped coordinate improvements for public safety radio coverage and broadband deployment on the reservation. He helped establish Warm Springs Telco—the 9th tribal-owned telephone company in the United States. He also serves on the State Interoperability Executive Council, the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council and the Central Oregon Area Commission on Transportation. Dave Sabala In July, 2015, Dave Sabala retired as the General Manager for Douglas Electric Cooperative, located in Roseburg. He was GM for 26 years and employed by Douglas Electric for 37 years graduating in 1976 from Oregon State University. He is a graduate of NRECA’s Management Intern Program at the University of Nebraska. Before retirement, Dave sat on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative (a Generation &Transmission cooperative headquartered in Portland), LightSpeed Networks (a statewide fiber optic interexchange telecommunications carrier headquartered in Portland) and Eastern Oregon Telecom (a competitive local exchange carrier headquartered in Hermiston). In addition, Dave is a member of United Telecom Council’s Rural Broadband Council. He has been a member of the Oregon Broadband Advisory Council since its inception. Dave helped create Douglas FastNet (DFN), Douglas Electric Cooperative’s wholly-owned telecommunications subsidiary. He also helped to found LightSpeed Networks. He is a past recipient this conference’s Edwin B Parker Enduring Achievement Award and the Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Distinguished Service Utility Award. Dave lives in Roseburg, Oregon with his wife, Debbie They have two grown daughters and 5 grandchildren. Michael Weidman Michael Weidman joined LightSpeed Networks Inc. (dba "LSN") as their President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2005. LSN provides the only region-wide broadband network with service access points in every county in Oregon. LSN's most current and established network continues its growth in the rural areas of Oregon, Washington and California with a focus on government, education, healthcare and other broadband telecommunication services. Michael has more than 25 years in telecommunications and management. Prior to joining LSN, he worked for MCI, serving in a number of roles in the USA, Guam, Japan and across Asia. Before joining MCI/WorldCom, Michael served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps leading and directing the successful deployment of communications systems before, during and after the Gulf War.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY. This degree is complimented with MBA studies from the University of Guam. Tom Worthy Tom Worthy is a Major with the Oregon State Police serving at General Headquarters in charge of OSP Technology projects, improvements and upgrades as well as Criminal Justice Information Systems, Central Records and two Command centers. He previously served as the Assistant Patrol Division Commander and a Patrol Sergeant assigned to the Portland Patrol Office. Major Worthy has served with the Oregon State Police for 22 years. Major Worthy also is integrally involved with the Oregon State Police electronic ticketing, crash reporting and truck inspection project. Major Worthy holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Washington State University. Major Worthy is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class #261 and holds a graduate certificate of achievement from the University of Virginia. He was appointed by the Governor to the Oregon Broadband Advisory Council representing public safety in 2012. Friday General Session Panel #4 Don Westlight (Moderator) Don Westlight, Manager Network Architecture & Engineering at OHSU started a professional career in networking prior to the establishment of the Internet in Oregon. In addition to various day jobs, Don participated in bringing Internet2 to Portland, co-founded the Northwest Access Exchange (NWAX), and worked on the Oregon Health Network throughout its initial lifecycle. Areas of specialization include, Campus Infrastructure Architectures, Internet Routing, Datacenter, Telecom, Cloud, Mobile Communications, WIFI… and economic challenges (how to do more with whatever we’ve got). Courtney Dillon Pederson Courtney Dillon Pedersen is Corporate Communications Manager at Milestone Systems, the world’s leading developer of open platform video surveillance management software for the B2B market (source: IHS Research 2016). After graduating from Boston University with a bachelor degree in English, she worked in the editorial, advertising and sales side of newspapers and magazines, including Ms. Magazine and Esquire Magazine. On moving to Copenhagen in 1985, eight years with U.N. agency project work introduced her to the communication needs of IT implementations. Microsoft Business Solutions and their partners were her next employers before she moved into the security sector with Milestone in 2003. As an American who lived in Denmark for 25 years, she cultivated an international perspective. She has researched and written about more than 500 customer implementations, educating the market in the many benefits of using IP technology.

Paul Webb Paul Web is a Security Evangelist for Level 3 Communications. For over seventeen years, Webb has supported his client's needs in the areas of IT security controls and related consulting services including, but not limited to: Security strategy, information security, network security, IT risk management, IT compliance (e.g. PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, CJIS), vulnerability testing, penetration testing, technical controls sourcing and implementation and managed security services. With this experience comes an in-depth understanding of the evolution of security, broad understanding of the security marketplace (e.g. tools, providers and drivers) and realistic and actionable approaches to support client requirements for security, compliance and risk management. Adam Wick For the last several years, Dr. Wick has led the mobile security and systems software program at Galois. In that capacity, he works all aspects of the project spectrum: from business development and project inception to final delivery to the client. While he has worked at all levels of the software stack, most recently Adam has specialized in systems software: device drivers, embedded control systems, and other core operating system components. Of particular interest, Dr. Wick led Galois’ participation in the development of a prototype secure, multi-level mobile device for the United States Marine Corps. Galois’ goals during this effort were to develop components for securing data on storage devices (Secure Data At Rest, or DAR), for securing data as it travels the network (Secure Data In Transit, or DIT), and for providing a secure root of trust. This later work transition into a wider investigation of software roots of trust for mobile devices, performed with the Department of Homeland Security. In addition, Dr. Wick has previously led projects in mobile device security, secure operating system design and implementation, virtual private networks, corporate network defense, and wireless systems. As part of the DARPA Cyber Fast Track program, he developed CyberChaff and Ditto: two mechanisms for confusing and delaying attackers attempting to penetrate a network. More recently, he has been investigating fault detection, robust fault recovery, and counterdeception in unmanned vehicles. Dr. Wick received a B.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 2000 and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2006. He has been working as a staff engineer, senior project manager, and research lead at Galois since 2006.

Master of Ceremonies Joe Franell Joseph Franell is currently the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Eastern Oregon Telecom (EOT), a rural competitive telephone company and Internet service provider. EOT serves residents and businesses in the Hermiston/Pendleton area of Northeastern Oregon. Prior to coming to work at EOT, Franell was the Director of Information Technology for the city of Ashland, Oregon, where he was responsible for the Ashland Fiber Network, a municipally-owned and operated broadband telecommunications company. Ashland was selected as one of the Intelligent Communities Forum Smart 21 Communities for 2007 and 2008, because of its innovative and visionary use of broadband technologies. Franell graduated from college in Texas with a major in education and a minor in communications and then joined the Army where he served for 10 years. Franell left the Army as a Captain after receiving significant experience in communications, operations and logistics. Prior to coming out West, Franell worked for almost 10 years in the telecommunications industry in the Southeastern United States. Franell has been a featured speaker at numerous state, national and international conferences and forums.
