Page 2: General Portfolio

This Book contains images that I have created throughout my Senior year, 2013, at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. There is a wide range of work between photography and photo manipulation.

“Skateboard”This image is an experiment

with colors and angles. I named it “Skateboard” because that is

just what it is, a skateboard.

Page 4: General Portfolio

This is a different rendition of “Skateboard.” The only thing

that has changed in this image is the color.

I really liked how the original final product of this piece came

out and I wanted to see the same image but with different

colors.

Once again I changed the colors of “Skateboard.” After changing the colors from the original I

decided to make it a black and white image, for experimental purposes and I’m pretty happy

with the end result.

“Dude”

One of my favorite pieces to work on because it was an

experiment with colors, perspective, softness, and

hardness. My classmate that modeled for me was a great

sport. Thursday, April 25, 2013

“Nature”

This is another favorite of mine. I was

attempting to make the entire image focus on

one section of the branch, the background is completely blurred out and its unclear of

what it is exactly.

I chose to make it a greyscale image because it enhances the

focal point and releases any other distractions that color

would provide. Thursday, April 25, 2013

“Gamer by Nature”Thursday, April 25, 2013

Page 9: General Portfolio

• “Gamer by Nature” shows some aspects of people who play video games or a card game called Magic the Gathering.

• The game system that most people use at The University of North Carolina University Center, is an Xbox.

• The card game of choice, Magic the Gathering.

• I wanted to portray both of those games, along with a photograph of someone taking a photograph to make the image more interesting.

“Cafeteria Patio”Thursday, April 25, 2013

Page 11: General Portfolio

• “Cafeteria Patio” is a simple black and white image.

• I wanted people to see how lonely and empty the cafeteria patio is, as long as I have attended UNCP this patio has always been bare.

• Perhaps when people see this image they will be more inclined to sit outside during their meal.

“Untitled”Thursday, April 25, 2013

Page 13: General Portfolio

• The previous image is untitled for the simple reason of I was unsure what to call it.

• I was experimenting with a couple of filters for this image and I was experimenting with contrast, lightness, and darkness.

• Another experiment for this image was greyscale or color. I wanted the metal to be the focal point and having colored bricks in the background was taking away from that.

This is a macro shot of the underside of a fire alarm. This is

one of my favorite images because its unclear exactly what it is unless someone tells you.

“Fire Alarm”

I wanted to give the viewer the option of figuring out what this image actually is.

Page 15: General Portfolio

This image is of a cane that is used for those who are visually impaired or blind. I changed the look

of this image to have the appearance of a painting, but not the entire piece. I was

experimenting with the blur tool and I really was impressed with the end result.

• The next few images that are seen here are part of a mini series Called “Lady, Zeke, and Quincey.”

• Each image was slightly manipulated to either make the image brighter or to zoom in on one or two particular dogs.

• All images will have the name of the one or two dogs in the photograph, otherwise it will be titled, “All.”
