General Information The Oklahoma Chamber Symphony (OCS) is pleased to announce auditions for Section Violin and Supplementary/Substitute Violin. OCS is a community chamber orchestra based in Oklahoma City. OCS performs five (5) free concerts per season. The concerts are performed free of charge so that classical music can be shared with the largest audience possible in our community, regardless of financial contribution. The Orchestra’s season runs from August-May of each year. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm-9:30pm at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church (2424 NW 50 th St, OKC 73112). Chair Responsibilities It is the responsibility of each musician to come to all rehearsals fully prepared. This includes, but is not limited to: o Numbering and adding rehearsal letters to music ahead of the first rehearsal. o Learning the individual’s part ahead of the first rehearsal, and continuing to target weak points in-between rehearsals. o Arriving at all rehearsals at least 10 minutes early. Attend all designated rehearsals and performances per the season schedule as well as any scheduled sectionals. Assist in set up and tear down of equipment such as: chairs, stands, percussion equipment, podium, etc. Audition Information Auditions will be held in the Sanctuary of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church (2424 NW 50 th St, OKC 73112) on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Auditions will begin at 6:00pm. Exact audition time will be communicated via email prior to the audition. Auditions will be blind and performed to a committee of musicians and leadership of the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony.
