Word of mouth has always been a dentist’s best form of marketing. The internet amplifies this one-to-one phenomenon, allowing conversations about your practice to spread exponentially. Patients are talking online about the dentist, the practice and the services offered. Practices must have a plan in place to establish, promote, manage and monitor a positive reputation online. Positive reviews will drive business to your practice while negative reviews turn potential patients away.
A bad customer experience which goes unresolved can lead to a bad reputation and thus lost revenue. Many dentists don’t know how to manage their reputation online. In this interactive, energized seminar, Dr. Tau shares numerous tips and best practices, as well as the system that has been tried and tested in his own office enabling him to take his practice to the next level.

Know how social media fits into online reputation management
Learn software programs that help manage your reputation
Discuss ways in which patient reviews can manifest online

The New Member of Our Dental Team the Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC)speaker Melanie Upshawlocation La Cienega10–11am
CE Express
agd code 149
ceu 1
This presentation is designed to help participants comprehend and embrace the role of the CDHC as advocates toward the solution of the access-to-care crisis. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), the CDHC model was “developed to build on the Community Health Worker’s (CHW) proven success by layering on an oral component. CDHC’s are not mid-level providers, they are not intended to take the place of dentists but rather, to educate, prevent dental disease and connect patients to dentists who will provide treatment. The design of this position embodies organized dentistry’s belief that the nation will never drill, fill and extract its way out of its profound oral health disparities. So rather than focusing on surgical interventions, CDHC’s provide the oral health education, prevention and patient navigation skills that are the nation’s best hope of stemming the tide of untreated oral disease.”
OBJECTIVES: Participants will:
Recognize the role of the CDHC
Examine the curriculum and determine the benefit of enhancing their own skill set
Compare the impact of the CDHC on various groups
 Review employment opportunities

The dental industry is changing as the corporate practice and PPO model of dentistry continues to expand. As an independent dentist, you need to know the factors that are influencing this rapid change and how independent dentists can use their numbers with other independent dentists to create leverage and economies of scale to compete in today’s advancing dental environment. The Dental Cooperative is the largest and oldest cooperative of independent dentists operating in the nation. With a variety of programs developed by our dentists and managed by the Cooperative team, Dental Cooperative dentists have tools and programs to compete in today’s market.
OBJECTIVES: This presentation will highlight the main changes facing independent dentistry, the factors contributing to those changes, and the expected effects they will have on independent dentistry at large. Included in the discussion will be a highlight of the collective efforts of independent dentists in the Dental Cooperative and what your Cooperative colleagues are doing to put leverage and strength in their corner.

In the opinion of this speaker, our professional happiness doesn’t come from our the depth of our clinical knowledge or the profitability of the practice; rather, it comes from the collective happiness of the team that we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. One crabby individual can ruin and otherwise great day, just as an inspiring and upbeat group can provide energy and positivity no matter how the rest of the day goes.
