The consolidation of a number of scholasticates has occurred
The stronger focus during initial formation that addresses the ongoing process of human development and the pastoral formation of the candidate not diminishing the importance of the academic dimension

FORMATION Challenges
To motivate all Oblates to be positive and to encourage the Vocation Ministry particularly through prayer and sharing awareness/communication
Inter-nationalising of Formation Houses requires inter-nationalisation of formation Teams

CRITICAL POINTS
Materialism and Secularity are strong features of European society
A fact that much of society, especially in the Western part of Europe, don't find the Church to be either relevant or offering any valuable contribution.
The Church is not heard in a language or tone that people can engage with positively
Relevant and ongoing Formation of leaders in the community (Superiors) is essential

CRITICAL POINTS
Oblates from other Units of the Congregation who are serving in Europe and how the European Region receives, supports and cooperates in their integration
Our ongoing awareness and responsibility for the Safeguarding children. Being supportive and learning from each other
Engaging as missionaries with the "New Continent' of the Internet and social media and reaching out to new peripheries within this evolving world
