The manufacturers provided by Utensileria Schneider S.p.A.are designed with the latest state of the art technology through the use of sophisticated software (FEM-CAD-CAM stations equipped with Siemens NX6 & NX Nastran) and virtual simulation in Vericut environment.

Quality control, guaranteed on 100% of the output, provides relief in addition to the normal inspections as the measurement of the insert screws torque loading in order to avoid unpleasant accidents in high-speed applications.

THG 2000*Special steel with high mechanical strength for heavy duty applications

THG 2000* is a is a chromium, molybdenum and vanadium high alloyed steel, which was developed for special applications (bodies for indexable inserts, etc.) with the following features:

•Good abrasion resistance, low and high temperatures;

•Good ductility and toughness;

•Good resistance to high temperatures and thermal fatigue;

•Good core hardening properties and suitable for air tempering;

•Low deformations after tempering.

Compared to a normal tool steel, the THG 2000 * can be coated by physical vapor deposition (PVD) without loosing the hardness.

General applicationsTHG 2000* is a high

mechanical properties special steel suitable for applications which impose stringent

requirements as regards both mechanical properties of the material and machinability.

Here are some examples of applications of THG 2000*:

•Drilling and milling cutter bodies for indexable inserts;

•Collet chucks and tool parts;

•Shafts and parts of the transmission of motor vehicles subject to considerable stress.

In Schneider THG 2000* steel is used to manufacture all straight shanks end mills as well all extremely sculptured models.
