DANGER:Contains SODIUM HYDROXIDE AND POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE. Do not get in eyes on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapor fumes. Keep container closed. Wash thoroughly after use. SODIUM HYDROXIDE AND POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS OR BLINDNESS. Prompt treatment is important to minimize effects of overexposure.
CALL A PHYSICIAN. INTERNAL: Give large quantities of water. Do not induce vomiting. EXTERNAL: Flood with water for at least 15 minutes. Wash with soap and water until area is no longer slippery. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. EYES: Immediately, flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Forcibly hold eyelids apart to ensure complete irrigation of all eye and lid tissues. Contact lenses should not be worn when working with this product.

Dosage: 1. After testing the boiler water for alkalinity and/or pH, the required GC CONCENTRATED ALKALI dosage is determined from the appropriate control chart. 2. 1.0 milliliter of this product per ton of distilled water gives 0.5 ppm alkalinity.
Feeding: GC CONCENTRATED ALKALI should be mixed with condensate and fed directly to the steam drum (below water level) by means of a bypass pot feeder or chemical injection pump. It can also be fed to the water drum or economizer inlet. For low pressure boilers, the solution may be dosed to the hotwell or condensate return tank.

Description: GC CONCENTRATE ALKALI is a alkaline liquid used in conjunction with ADDITIVE B phosphate boiler water treatment to prevent the formation of calcium and magnesium scale deposits in high and low pressure boilers. Hardness constituents are converted to soft, non-adherent sludge that is easily removed by blowdown.
