From the Sparkle - Gold (F), cut:• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (8) 3 ½” squares.• (2) 1 ½” x 38 ½” WOF strips.• (2) 1 ½” x 36 ½” WOF strips.

From the Words - Black (G), cut:• (4) 4 ½” x 38 ½” WOF strips.

From the Bats - Orange (H), cut:• (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 4 ½” squares.

From the Tossed Cats - Orange (I), cut:• (1) 6 ½” square.

From the Spider Web - Cream (J), cut:• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 3 ½” x 6 ½” strips and (4) 3 ½” squares.

From the Tossed Cats - Gray (Backing), cut:• (2) 54” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 54” x 54” back.

Sewing Instructions1. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric E strip to each side of (1) 10 ½” Fabric D square. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 12 ½” Fabric E strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric D strip to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (4) Block One squares total.

2. Place (1) 3 ½” Fabric B square on the left side of (1) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric C strip (arrow in Figure 5 denotes fabric direction), right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 3). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

3. Place another 3 ½” Fabric B square on the right side of the 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 1 strip (Fig. 5).

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (4) Unit 1 strips total.

Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling.)9. Sew (1) Block Two Square to each side of (1) Block One square to make the Row One. Repeat to make Row Three.

10. Sew (1) Block One square to each side of (1) Block Three square to make Row Two.

11. Sew (3) rows together in numerical order to make the Center Block.

12. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 38 ½” Fabric F strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

13. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 38 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4 ½” Fabric H square to each end of (1) 4 ½” x 38 ½” Fabric G strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

14. Layer and quilt as desired.

15. Sew the (5) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric E strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

16. Bind as desired.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 and use Figures 6-8 for fabric identification, location, fabric direction and seam direction to make (4) Unit 2 strips, (4) Unit 3 strips and (4) Unit 4 strips.

6. Repeat Steps 2-3 using (4) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strips and (8) 3 ½” Fabric F squares to make (4) Unit 5 strips (Fig. 9).

7. Follow Figure 10 and sew together (4) 3 ½” Fabric C squares (paying attention to fabric direction), (1) Unit 2 strip, (1) Unit 3 strip, (1) Unit 4 strip, (1) Unit 1 strip and (1) 6 ½” Fabric A square to make (1) Block Two square. Repeat to make (4) Block Two squares total.

8. Sew (1) 3 ½” Fabric J square to each end of (1) Unit 5 strip to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew (1) Unit 5 strip to each side of (1) 6 ½” Fabric I square lengthwise to make the middle row. Sew the (3) rows together, paying attention to the orientation of the strips, to make (1) Block Three square.
