Launching the Swachh Survekshan initiative 2017 for 500 cities, Shri Naidu said in New Delhi that Municipal authorities should spend more time motivating people towards using toilets and desist from open defecation. He said, three States - Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala have committed 739 cities will achieve ODF status during this financial year: UD Minister to be 100 per cent Open Defecation Free by March next year. The Swachh Survekshan initiative is aimed at assessing the level of sanitation, efforts being made by states and urban local bodies to capture the improvements made since last such survey. The objective of this round is to further accelerate the momentum of implementation of cleanliness mission by enabling 500 urban local bodies to look inwards and also at others. It will also help in ranking the cities in relation to others in respect of sanitation levels. The result of the survey will help the government to understand the scenario regarding sanitation in urban India. Shri Naidu also interacted with different cities which are maintaining good level of sanitation including Mysore. He said ensuring cleanliness is not a mere slogan and it needs to be translated into reality on ground. The Minister informed that New Delhi, Aug 6 Centre has launched a nation-wide breast feeding programme MAA - 'Mothers' Absolute Affection'. The goal of the programme is to enhance optimal breastfeeding practices. MAA is an intensified programme of the Health Ministry for creating an enabling environment to ensure that mothers, Centre launches nation-wide breast feeding programme husbands and families receive adequate information and support for promotion of breastfeeding. The Ministry has allocated 30 crore rupees for the Programme and 4.3 lakh rupees for each district for implementing the various activities under MAA programme. TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. The sealed tender should be submitted superscribing on the envelope “TENDER FOR SUPPLY OF LABOUR & TRANSPORTATION OF AGRICULTURE INPUTS “ and addressed to the Assistant Director (Agri.), Nancowrie to be opened on 19 th August, 2016 at 1530 hrs., if 19th August is a holiday the tender will be opened next working day at the same time. 2. The quotation should be accompanied with an earnest money deposit of Rs. 3000/ - (Rupees Three Thousand only) in shape of fixed deposit/call deposit receipt in favour of the Assistant Director (Agri.), Nancowrie from any nationalized bank. Cheque/ draft shall not be accepted as earnest money deposit. 3. The rate should be quoted as per the prescribed format for each item both in figures and words. 4. The successful tenderer is bound to carryout the work on receipt of formal work order and same have to be completed within the stipulated time period mentioned therein. 5. For any reason the contractor fails to execute the work assigned to him within the specific time period, the EMD will be forfeited to the Govt. account without giving any notice, in addition the department have the liberty to carryout the work from other sources and appropriate penalty will be imposed against the contractor. 6. The quoted rates should be valid up to one year from the date of acceptance of the rate. 7. For supply of labours for transportation of agriculture inputs the tenderer will be responsible for stevedoring work a Port/Jetty and department will not have any binding for hindrance of stevedoring work at jetty. 8. In case of transportation of Agriculture inputs from Kamorta jetty to store and vice versa and from store to the different villages, the tenderer should take all possible care for avoiding damage of input during transport. Necessary protection against damage of stores by sea water/ rain during transport to be arranged by transporter and any damaged caused due to negligence on the part of the tenderer, the losses will be recovered from the transport bill. 9. For computing hire charges of truck, the total distance covered will be calculated from the point of loading the stores to the point of unloading the store and no separate payment will be made for return trip. 10. The quotation should reach to the Assistant Director (Agri.), Nancowrie upto 1500 hours of 19/08/2016 and will be opened on the same day at 1530 hrs. in the presence of tenderers or their representatives, if any present. 11.
