WIREGRASS MUSEUM, DOTHAN AL

Renovation/ Addition to the existing art museum to house new facilities based on the discussion with the museum staff.Design approach was to maintain the existing character of the stucture and working around it to enhance the museum. Various options provided to have a variety of activities in the designed spaces.Also a Master Plan was proposed to develop a “cultural core” for the city of Dothan.

LEBANON ARTS DISTRICT

A project with an Alabama based developer of revitalization of the existing warehouses in Opelika downtown by activating spaces to attract more and more people into this area.The idea was to propose a phase- wise development envisioned to be com-pleted withing the next 7 years starting with the improvement to the existing warehouses and getting people to reside there.Attention to details like pathway designs, street furniture, facade propor-tions was important for us.

THE ARTISTS LIVE- WORK SPACES

The existing exposed brick warehouses are used as a backdrop and the artists work spaces are arranged around that with a shared gallery space to be used as display area for their work.The Artists Studio is 1250 sq ft with a offi ce space facing the courtyard that is fl exible enough to arrange it according to individual preferenceThis phase was designed such that there are people who live there and the space is activated automatically.
