Church Records
Churches often kept records of births,
marriages and deaths when local governments
did not.
I cant find the marriage of William Edmond
Webb to Janet Allan. What do I do now?
According to Lillians baptismal record, she
was baptized in St. Pauls Church in Nanaimo.

What about John Thomas father??
I searched land records, looking for a McGuire. I figured out how the plot boundaries weredetermined. But I had no luck.
I researched Clay County, the first known record of John T. I found out that Clay County was formedfrom Greene and Randolph counties in 1873.
I turned to the Family History Library and wrote down every possible resource the library had
regarding Greene County.
I visited the Family History Library in Salt Lake with a list of all the resources I wanted to check.
I found John Ts father in a Greene County, Arkansas probate record book. His name was CharlesMcGuire. I later researched microfilm for Greene County probate records and discovered thatCharles had an older son, George who was born in 1860. Because this child was born in 1860, I wasable to find them in the 1860 census (though the 1870 census still eludes me). Charles wife was
named Sarah.
My family sealed this family together November 26, 2010.
