Parish Office Hours Parish Office has moved!
As of June16th, the Parish Office is open during the following hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
10AM - 3:00PM If you need to drop anything off - you may use the mailbox outside the office door. Office Has Moved to the Lower Rectory This is the entrance just off the parking lot, next to the lower Church hall entrance. This will save money as we try to recover from the financial effects of the pandemic. St Brigid Convent Building: The current Parish Office, the former convent building, is being examined now for possible classroom space for Religious Education programs and South Boston Catholic Academy. Due to the effects of the pandemic and the increasing enrollment at SBCA, the use of the convent may help in the next few years as the school accommodates the many South Boston families that are seeking a Catholic Education. More information will follow as we explore its use.

Important Message Cardinal Sean continues to ddispense all Catholics from the Sunday Mass obligation. This will be in place for the foreseeable future. Catholics are not obliged to go to Sunday Mass due to
current pandemic and the ccontinued risks. The Cardinal strongly encourages people in vulnerable popula-tions, especially the elderly and those with complicating physical conditions to continue to watch via Live

Parishioner Requirements to attend Mass 1. All those attending Mass – MMUST wear a mask. 2. Parishioners are encouraged to
bring their own hand sanitizer with them. 3. Missalettes and Holy Water cannot be used. 4. Social distancing is required – must have 6 feet between each other,
including when processing up to receive communion. 5. Congregation singing will not be allowed. 6. Communion will be distributed at end of Mass and in the hand on-
ly. 7. 40% occupancy in each church must be adhered.
Due to the shutdown of Churches for COVID-19, parishes were unable to launch the 2020 Catholic Appeal this past March with an in-pew presenta on. However, as the work of our Church has con nued amidst the pandemic, the more than 50 ministries funded by the Catholic Appeal are in need now more than ever. The success of the Appeal is vital in funding these ministries that provide assistance to our parishes, schools, and communi es in a variety of ways. Gate of Heaven Parking Lot Update - August 9th As you know, over the past couple of years, we have been raising funds for the completion of the parking lot at Gate of Heaven Church. The 2019 Grand Annual Collection and also our Capital Campaign, that we began in 2018, we raised enough funds to complete the excavation, drainage work, and paving. The Archdiocese approved this work in late February, just before the pandemic lockdown. The drainage system is complete and curbing is in place. The next steps: 1. PPaving of the first coat: The binder course will
take place within the next few weeks. We will not be able to utilize the parking area immediately. If blocked off, please do not drive on the new pavement.
2. Top (smooth) coat: The pavement will be installed and the lining of the lot will take place. 3. Paver installation: The pavers will be installed along the walkway, the side of the Church, and in the new garden and statue area. This will take a few weeks to complete. 4. Plantings: The landscape will include bushes, trees, and grass all of which will be
installed in late-September. If anyone has a green thumb and would like to help plant, we would appreciate your help. Watch the bulletin for details! 5. Fencing: The fencing will be installed in the Fall. Hopefully our 2020 Grand Annual Collection will cover some of the cost to continue the wrought iron fence along East 4th and East 5th Streets.
We are happy the project will be completed this summer. Thank you to all who helped fund this project. Know that it is greatly appreciated!
